energy
The total set aside by the Obambi administration for Green Energy businesses was $80 Billion. We’ve heard about Solyndra, Fisker, and A123 among some of the bigger ones. However, there are a total of 34 companies on this list totaling $3.770 Billion in taxpayer funded loans. Admittedly, that is only 1/2 of 1% of the total. But, given that we are talking BILLIONS that still is no chump change when it comes to our taxes. I found the list here. We can’t afford having the government pick and choose who the winners and losers are. Given that Global Warming has been debunked and we now find out that there has been absolutely no global warming over the last 16 years – this is plain ridiculous.
The complete list of faltering or bankrupt green-energy companies:
- Evergreen Solar ($25 million)*
- SpectraWatt ($500,000)*
- Solyndra ($535 million)*
- Beacon Power ($43 million)*
- Nevada Geothermal ($98.5 million)

Nope – not making that up at all! Obama seriously thinks Romney is an extremist.
I can’t speak to Gov. Romney’s motivations,” Obama said. “What I can say is that he has signed up for positions, extreme positions, that are very consistent with positions that a number of House Republicans have taken. And whether he actually believes in those or not, I have no doubt that he would carry forward some of the things that he’s talked about.
Is that a hoot or what? Romney the RINO is extreme! The same man who implemented a program in his own state that Obamacare was modeled after. The same man who was at one time pro-abortion. Well – rather than list them all here – just see Romney in his own words:
The point is that the fact Obama considers Romney as an extremist just absolutely proves that he is the most extreme leftist President we have ever had in this country. Romney is probably more Center-Left than he is Conservative. Obama tries to paint himself as being Center-Left and sometimes as a moderate. So, you just have to wonder – if Romney is a far-right-winged extremist – really – what exactly does that make Obama then?
Just more proof that Obama is showing his true marxist colors.
Let’s see what those extreme positions are:
JOBS & ECONOMIC GROWTH
Mitt Romney will rebuild the foundations of the American economy on the principles of free enterprise, hard work, and innovation. His plan seeks to reduce taxes, spending, regulation, and government programs. It seeks to increase trade, energy production, human capital, and labor flexibility. It relinquishes power to the states instead of claiming to have the solution to every problem.
Hmm..not so extreme. Actually sounds like he wants to implement those same values and traits that this country was founded on – and going placing the constitutional boundaries on the Federal government back in place. Yup – that is extreme!
FOREIGN POLICY
Our country today faces a bewildering array of threats and opportunities. As president, Mitt Romney will safeguard America and secure our country’s interests and most cherished ideals. The unifying thread of his national security strategy is American strength. When America is strong, the world is safer. It is only American power—conceived in the broadest terms—that can provide the foundation for an international system that ensures the security and prosperity of the United States and our friends and allies.
A Romney foreign policy will proceed with clarity and resolve. Our friends and allies will not have doubts about where we stand and what we will do to safeguard our interests and theirs. Neither will our rivals, competitors, and adversaries. The best ally world peace has ever known is a strong America. The “last best hope of earth” was what Abraham Lincoln called our country. Mitt Romney believes in fulfilling the promise of Lincoln’s words and will defend America abroad in word and in deed.
Wow! Going back to being that “Shining Light on the Hill” that Reagan was talking about. Putting American exceptionalism back in to the world market – and – oh my God – actually supporting and standing beside our staunchest allies. That man is no doubt an extremist for wanting America to be number 1 in the world again and giving hope to those oppressed people in other nations.
LIMITED GOVERNMENT
The mission to restore America to health begins with reducing the size of the federal government and getting our fiscal house in order. President Obama has put our nation on an unsustainable course. Spending is out of control. Yearly deficits are massive. And unless we curb Washington’s appetite for spending, the national debt will only continue to grow.
As president, Mitt Romney will cut federal spending and regulation, and bring much-needed reforms to Medicare and Social Security. Mitt will work toward balancing the budget, reducing the size and reach of the federal government, and returning power to the states and the people.
THAT EXTREMIST BASTARD! How dare he suggest we balance our budget, stop the free-fall spending, and reducing our deficit all while putting the government back in it’s place as constitutionally required! What is he thinking?
IMMIGRATION
Mitt Romney will protect legal immigration and the 4.5 million who are waiting in line to enter the United States legally by taking a strong stand against illegal immigration. He believes that illegal immigration must end and has a proven track record of advancing that goal.
What an extremist viewpoint he has on immigration! He really wants to secure our borders and discourage illegal aliens. Why does he believe that those 12 million criminals who crossed illegally in the dark of night should not get preference over the 4.5 million who actually did it legally and have been waiting as much as 10 years to become citizens. I don’t understand his extreme position that those illegal aliens should not be able to utilize all of our American resources (schools, health care, jobs, food stamps, welfare) and still be able to claim tax refunds so they can send all that money to Mexico to improve their economy.
ENERGY
Producing more domestic energy would create good jobs and bolster local economies in a wide variety of energy-producing regions that effectively “export” their product to the rest of the country. While countless jobs are engaged in the actual energy-production process, they are a small fraction of the full workforce that benefits. For instance, before the first barrel of oil is pumped out of the ground, entire industries are hard at work creating the equipment and providing the services used in drilling, production, and the long chain of supporting industries that brings energy from inside the earth to the consumer.
The ripple effects into the non-energy sectors of the economy are commensurately important. If instead of sending hundreds of billions of dollars overseas we can send them to our own energy-rich centers, the nation as a whole will experience the economic benefits that we currently see other countries enjoying at our expense.
How dare he? I think he actually needs to be put on that domestic terrorist list for holding this extremist idea! He REALLY wants to start producing energy domestically by increasing oil, coal, and natural gas production within OUR own borders! Doesn’t he know that we HAVE to remain dependent on foreign oil to keep those Islamofascists knee-deep in money so they can continue to kill Americans and infidels? Doesn’t he know that we need to invest in GREEN technology that has not been proven to work? We must continue to invest in technology that won’t produce real results for 50 years. Such extreme position!
Okay – enough of that. I think you guys get the point. You can see the rest of his message on the remaining issues on his website. As liberal as Romney is – he is actually putting forth some real common sense ideas (well – these are not new ideas). In fact, I believe many of these ideas actually were founded in the late 1700′s by a few radical guys we call our forefathers. I don’t know – seems like reducing government, balanced budgets, reduced deficits, fair taxes, domestic energy production, legal immigration, government spending caps, strong military, and job growth are hardly extreme.
What do you think?
WTF is going on with the freakin’ gas prices? It is getting absolutely ridiculous once again. The freakin’ middle east is on fire and the price of oil is once again above $100/barrel. When Obambi came in office oil was under $36/barrel.
Do you remember this?
He clearly wants oil and energy prices to be high. He has done everything possible to raise the price of gas. Any good President would have been out front during the Egyptian revolution – it took Obambi 6 days to say anything. A good President would have been out front during the Libyan revolution – Obambi took 9 days to say anything. Jordan, Bahrain, Tunisia – and on March 11th – Saudi Arabia are currently in the middle of civil uprisings – all affecting the price of oil.
We import 63% of all of our oil from foreign countries. Here’s where that oil comes from:
America is the 3rd largest oil producer in the world at 8.7mbl/day. America consumes 21mbl/day. It is estimated we have 150 years worth of oil in reserves. America has 21bbl in proven reserves – which if we produced ALL of our own oil – would last about 10 years. However, there is an estimated 100bbl/d in unproven reserves. These are the ones where geologists believe there is oil – but our government refuses to allow us to do any exploratory drilling. Technically we have about 50 years in reserves if our freakin’ government would just open it up.
This government has done absolutely nothing for 40 years! I remember sitting in the long gas lines with my parents in 1973. It was ridiculous then and it is even MORE ridiculous now that prices are up. That idiot Carter created the Department of Energy that was supposed to lead us to energy independence using ALL of our resources. Instead – we have a multi-billion dollar boondoggle federal government department that has lead us down a path of energy dependence on foreign countries. I was living in Pennsylvania when we had the 3 Mile Island scare – which subsequently resulted in the U.S. halting production of any new nuclear facilities. There hasn’t been a new reactor built in the U.S. in over 30 years. We only have 104 in the entire country and they expect only 2-4 new ones to be on line in 2018. Only 20% of our total energy production is from nuclear. Hell, even France has 75% of their energy coming from nuclear power.
Obambi and the rest of those eco-nutjobs would have us believe that we should shut down ALL coal-fired plants, ALL nuclear powered plants, and shut down ALL oil production and we should only use hydro, wind, and solar power. Well, that is all fine and good – but – at this time NONE OF THEM are a viable source of energy. Hydro power 3% of our total energy in this country. Every location that has strong enough currents to generate hydropower are already in production. 9% is the best we’ll get from that source. Rather than explain it all – check out this chart:
ONLY 8% of our total energy production comes from those renewable sources. Of that 8% only 1% of that is Solar and 9% is wind. If you do the math – that means that only .008% of our entire energy production comes from solar and .072% of our total energy production is wind. These ARE NOT viable options yet this freakin administration is pushing solar and wind. Why? Even those who are experts and pro-wind power says it is not viable. Just check out the Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center in Nolan, Texas. It spans 47,000 acres and only produces 210mw of power. That only provides power for 2500 hours of full load. This is THE largest wind farm in the world and it hardly produces anything. It costs about $1,2 – 2.6 Million per 1mw of power produced. In case you haven’t figured it out yet, 47,000 acres is 74 square miles. Talk about a waste of money, time, and land.
Could someone please explain why this administration insists on playing “Where’s Obama” when it comes to doing what is right for this country? Why is Obambi and this administration so hellbent on destroying our economy? When gas gets to $4/gal again – we’re going to see this economy tank even further – yet – Obambi does nothing, nothing to alleviate the problem. He WANTS oil prices to skyrocket – and I think it is so he can FORCE this alternative energy crap down our throats.
That alternative energy ain’t going to mean shit when people out in the real world can’t afford to get to work and can’t afford to buy food to feed themselves and their families. We are decades away from alternative energy to ever being a viable means of energy production. What needs to be done is to start drilling everything we got and to start putting nuclear facilities online immediately. Once we are energy stable in this country – THEN start investing in these technologies.
Just saying
compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly: persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful.
Notice the key words in the definition – compulsive need, habit-forming, withdrawal, harmful.
The connotation of addiction is always negative. The left consistently points to our use of oil and fossil fuels as an addiction – a negative. America is NOT addicted to fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are, in fact, the life blood of our economy. There is no compulsive use – it is not a habit – there would be no physiological affects of a withdrawal from oil – and – the most harmful thing for America right now would be to stop using fossil fuels. It would doom our economy and our way of life. We need to change the dialogue and stop referring to our use of fossil fuels as an addiction. We need to think of fossil fuels as life-sustaining resources such as food & water. Oil IS the food and water of our economy. Without it, our economy dies. Are there alternatives? Yes – but – they are not viable right now.
Oil is akin to water in our economy. Solar and Wind power is akin to our oceans filled with salt water. Fresh water is immediately available. Salt water – while abundant – requires a lot of energy and processes to become potable. Same thing – oil – with little refining is immediately available for literally hundreds of uses in our economy. Solar and wind power requires more refining in order to make it a viable option. While we do have desalination plants to provide us with potable water from ocean water – they are not the mainstream source for our water yet. Until that technology is better and more refined – we still get the majority of our life sustaining fresh water from other sources. Same with oil – until Solar and other alternative powers become more sustainable and the technology cheaper – we need to be tapping as much of our readily available fossil fuels as possible while we move towards those technologies.
I watched the President’s speech last night and I was just waiting for that term – “addicted to oil” – and sure enough, he did not fail me. America is dependent on FOREIGN OIL because of Jimmy Carter and his creation of the Department of Energy. Rather than move to tap our own resources – the leftist eco-whackos through the DOE, in collaboration with the EPA, made it harder. We even stopped building nuclear plants. There is a mountain of paperwork that oil companies must go through now just to get approval to explore for oil. It takes 7 – 10 years to get through the regulatory red tape to bring a single drop of oil in to a barrel.
If the use of fossil fuels is such a national security issue due to our dependence on foreign oil – doesn’t it make sense to tap every existing resource available to break that dependence? Doesn’t it make sense to bring MORE nuclear power plants on line? Doesn’t it make more sense to become totally independent as a nation and THEN work on alternatives while we are prospering economically?
America is NOT addicted to oil. The ENTIRE FREAKIN’ WORLD ECONOMY runs on oil! We must stay vigilant and not allow our idiot politicians to use the gulf oil spill as an excuse to push a bogus cap-and-trade bill on us that will further harm our economy. What we need is for some real solid policies that include moving the wells closer to shore to avert future disasters as what is happening in the Gulf. We need policies that say open up more of the oil and natural gas reserves. We need policies that will allow more expedient building of nuclear power plants and oil rigs. If you don’t think this would help our economy – look at all the oil-rich Arab nations. They are like oases in the deserts. By having sound energy policies – more jobs would be created, energy prices would come down, and our economy would recover.
Unfortunately, we have leftist eco-whackos running the show in D.C. at this time. Until we get rid of them – we will continue to have bullshit rhetoric like this and a slow, foreign energy dependent, economy that indeed lends to national security vulnerability.
It appears that while Obama signed an executive order earlier this year banning offshore drilling once again off the American coast – they have decided that offshore drilling is actually a good idea. In fact, we taxpayers will be funding offshore drilling to the tune of $2,000,000,000.00. Wow – it’s about time, right?
WRONG! Perhaps I should mention that Obama is funding this $2 Billion to PetroBras – The state of Brazil – as reported in The Wall Street Journal
The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.
The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas.

Let’s put those $Real figures in to American dollars – at today’s exchange rate of 1.84 Reals to 1 U.S. Dollar the total net earnings are $116,911,957. Net Income is $17,928,261. Their total investments are $30 Billion. This is a state owned oil company. The Obama administration is providing $2 Billion to another country that has $30 Billion in investments for offshore oil exploration – OFF THE SHORES OF BRAZIL! WTF? This is the same country that just signed a deal in February to supply China with 58,000,000,000 barrels of oil per year. So – essentially, we Americans are funding Brazil to explore and drill off their own shores in order to provide oil to another country.
Oh – Did I mention that George Soros is the major stakeholder in PetroBras? He personally holds $900,000,000 in shares of PetroBras. So, who really benefits by Obama giving PetroBras this $2 Billion? It sure as hell isn’t we the American people who are actually paying for it. This is just another payoff to his corporate pal Soros and to China.
When are you people on the left going to realize that Obama doesn’t give a shit about we Americans, the poor, or the middle class? He only cares about paying off all of his corporate buddies. You thought GWB was in the tank with corporations – the entire freakin’ Obama administration and every single freakin spending bill that has been put out there in the last 7 months were payoffs to large corporations that donated to him.
Who do you think benefits the most if the healthcare bill passes? It sure isn’t we the American people – it will be GE, George Soros, PhRma, the SEIU, GMMB, and AKPD, just to name a few. I have a hard-core liberal cousin who lives in Pittsburgh. During one of our conversations prior to the elections he said he was voting for Obama because Obama wasn’t in the pocket of big corporations like Bush was and that Obama was going to take the power away from corporate America and give it back to the people. Hmmm…I wonder how that is working out now? I’m gonna have to give him a call now!
Anyway – to get back to the main point – while I think this is a slap in the face of all Americans and absolutely exposes the hypocrisy of the left that they would fund offshore drilling in a leftist country but absolutely ban all offshore drilling in America – as the news gets out on this – I believe more Americans will start to wake up. The left no longer has a leg to stand on when it comes to offshore drilling. We Americans are paying dearly at the pump and the leftists in D.C. are forcing Cap and Tax on us that will continue to drive up prices at the pump and in our homes – yet – they will finance oil exploration outside of the country. We are being screwed once again by our own government – and for what? How does this deal make any freakin sense at all? This just proves that the Cap and Tax is a scam.
Why would a company worth $30 billion and has a lucrative long-term contract with China need our taxpayer dollars to drill in their own waters? They don’t. I’m going to say it again – this is a round about way to payoff Soros and China using our money. Call your representatives and senators and tell them to drop this deal. In this stagnant economy – we can’t afford to subsidize other countries – nevertheless the 7th largest oil producer in the world.
I also found out that other bloggers have picked up on this as well:
