America is NOT addicted to oil!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Global warmongering, Liberals, Obama, Politics, energy, gas

ADDICTION

compulsive need for and use of a habit-forming substance (as heroin, nicotine, or alcohol) characterized by tolerance and by well-defined physiological symptoms upon withdrawal; broadly: persistent compulsive use of a substance known by the user to be harmful.

Notice the key words in the definition – compulsive need, habit-forming, withdrawal, harmful.

The connotation of addiction is always negative.  The left consistently points to our use of oil and fossil fuels as an addiction – a negative.  America is NOT addicted to fossil fuels.  Fossil fuels are, in fact, the life blood of our economy.  There is no compulsive use – it is not a habit – there would be no physiological affects of a withdrawal from oil – and – the most harmful thing for America right now would be to stop using fossil fuels.  It would doom our economy and our way of life. We need to change the dialogue and stop referring to our use of fossil fuels as an addiction.  We need to think of fossil fuels as life-sustaining resources such as food & water.  Oil IS the food and water of our economy.  Without it, our economy dies.  Are there alternatives? Yes – but – they are not viable right now.

Oil is akin to water in our economy.  Solar and Wind power is akin to our oceans filled with salt water.  Fresh water is immediately available. Salt water – while abundant – requires a lot of energy and processes to become potable. Same thing – oil – with little refining is immediately available for literally hundreds of uses in our economy.  Solar and wind power requires more refining in order to make it a viable option.  While we do have desalination plants to provide us with potable water from ocean water – they are not the mainstream source for our water yet.  Until that technology is better and more refined – we still get the majority of our life sustaining fresh water from other sources.  Same with oil – until Solar and other alternative powers become more sustainable and the technology cheaper – we need to be tapping as much of our readily available fossil fuels as possible while we move towards those technologies.

I watched the President’s speech last night and I was just waiting for that term – “addicted to oil” – and sure enough, he did not fail me.  America is dependent on FOREIGN OIL because of Jimmy Carter and his creation of the Department of Energy.  Rather than move to tap our own resources – the leftist eco-whackos through the DOE, in collaboration with the EPA, made it harder.  We even stopped building nuclear plants.  There is a mountain of paperwork that oil companies must go through now just to get approval to explore for oil.  It takes 7 – 10 years to get through the regulatory red tape to bring a single drop of oil in to a barrel.

If the use of fossil fuels is such a national security issue due to our dependence on foreign oil – doesn’t it make sense to tap every existing resource available to break that dependence?  Doesn’t it make sense to bring MORE nuclear power plants on line?  Doesn’t it make more sense to become totally independent as a nation and THEN work on alternatives while we are prospering economically?

America is NOT addicted to oil.  The ENTIRE FREAKIN’ WORLD ECONOMY runs on oil!  We must stay vigilant and not allow our idiot politicians to use the gulf oil spill as an excuse to push a bogus cap-and-trade bill on us that will further harm our economy.  What we need is for some real solid policies that include moving the wells closer to shore to avert future disasters as what is happening in the Gulf.  We need policies that say open up more of the oil and natural gas reserves.  We need policies that will allow more expedient building of nuclear power plants and oil rigs.  If you don’t think this would help our economy – look at all the oil-rich Arab nations.  They are like oases in the deserts.  By having sound energy policies – more jobs would be created, energy prices would come down, and our economy would recover.

Unfortunately, we have leftist eco-whackos running the show in D.C. at this time.  Until we get rid of them – we will continue to have bullshit rhetoric like this and a slow, foreign energy dependent, economy that indeed lends to national security vulnerability.

Obama administration reverses position on offshore drilling!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: China, Congress, Democrats, Liberals, Obama, Politics, Taxes, energy, government, oil

It appears that while Obama signed an executive order earlier this year banning offshore drilling once again off the American coast – they have decided that offshore drilling is actually a good idea.  In fact, we taxpayers will be funding offshore drilling to the tune of $2,000,000,000.00.  Wow – it’s about time, right?

WRONG! Perhaps I should mention that Obama is funding this $2 Billion to PetroBras – The state of Brazil – as reported in The Wall Street Journal

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil’s state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil’s Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil’s planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a “preliminary commitment” letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas.

Here are the stats on PetroBras:

Let’s put those $Real figures in to American dollars – at today’s exchange rate of 1.84 Reals to 1 U.S. Dollar the total net earnings are $116,911,957.  Net Income is $17,928,261.  Their total investments are $30 Billion.  This is a state owned oil company.  The Obama administration is providing $2 Billion to another country that has $30 Billion in investments for offshore oil exploration – OFF THE SHORES OF BRAZIL!  WTF? This is the same country that just signed a deal in February to supply China with 58,000,000,000 barrels of oil per year.  So – essentially, we Americans are funding Brazil to explore and drill off their own shores in order to provide oil to another country.

Oh – Did I mention that George Soros is the major stakeholder in PetroBras? He personally holds $900,000,000 in shares of PetroBras.  So, who really benefits by Obama giving PetroBras this $2 Billion?  It sure as hell isn’t we the American people who are actually paying for it.  This is just another payoff to his corporate pal Soros and to China.

When are you people on the left going to realize that Obama doesn’t give a shit about we Americans, the poor, or the middle class?  He only cares about paying off all of his corporate buddies.  You thought GWB was in the tank with corporations – the entire freakin’ Obama administration and every single freakin spending bill that has been put out there in the last 7 months were payoffs to large corporations that donated to him.

Who do you think benefits the most if the healthcare bill passes?  It sure isn’t we the American people – it will be GE, George Soros, PhRma, the SEIU, GMMB, and AKPD, just to name a few.  I have a hard-core liberal cousin who lives in Pittsburgh.  During one of our conversations prior to the elections he said he was voting for Obama because Obama wasn’t in the pocket of big corporations like Bush was and that Obama was going to take the power away from corporate America and give it back to the people.  Hmmm…I wonder how that is working out now?  I’m gonna have to give him a call now!

Anyway – to get back to the main point – while I think this is a slap in the face of all Americans and absolutely exposes the hypocrisy of the left that they would fund offshore drilling in a leftist country but absolutely ban all offshore drilling in America – as the news gets out on this – I believe more Americans will start to wake up.  The left no longer has a leg to stand on when it comes to offshore drilling.  We Americans are paying dearly at the pump and the leftists in D.C. are forcing Cap and Tax on us that will continue to drive up prices at the pump and in our homes – yet – they will finance oil exploration outside of the country.  We are being screwed once again by our own government – and for what?  How does this deal make any freakin sense at all?  This just proves that the Cap and Tax is a scam.

Why would a company worth $30 billion and has a lucrative long-term contract with China need our taxpayer dollars to drill in their own waters?  They don’t.  I’m going to say it again – this is a round about way to payoff Soros and China using our money.  Call your representatives and senators and tell them to drop this deal.  In this stagnant economy – we can’t afford to subsidize other countries – nevertheless the 7th largest oil producer in the world.

I also found out that other bloggers have picked up on this as well:

Michelle Malkin – Hot Air – Good news: Obama backs off-shore drilling!

Gateway Pundit – Team Obama Funds Oil Drilling Project in Brazil (I recommend checking this one out – he has a lot of good graphics on the American “No Zones” and bans.)

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – July 12, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: America, Carnival, China, Conservative, Democrats, Iran, Liberals, Obama, Politics, energy, government, libertarian

We have a great carnival this week folks! Lot’s of really lively submissions to comment on. Make sure you stop by the blogs of my contributors and let them know your opinions about their submissions.

Conservative

Phil B. presents End All Foreign Aid posted at Phil for Humanity, saying, “In 2008, the United States gave an estimated 26 billion dollars in foreign aid to other countries. For free… Yup, the U.S. government continues giving away your hard earned tax dollars.”

100% in agreement Phil.  In today’s economy, it makes absolutely no sense that we continue to send $billions to other countries when we could use it here.  Obama has plans to nearly double that with a price tag of $50 Billion!!  He’s gonna bankrupt this country. Seems he cares more about other countries than he does America.

Rich Bordner presents Epic Fail: Planned Parenthood Shows its True Colors…Again « The Pugnacious Irishman posted at The Pugnacious Irishman, saying, “Planned Parenthood has it backwards–rather than being angry at Lila Rose for exposing wickedness in their ranks, why aren’t they angry at the PP workers who would fail to protect girls by turning a blind eye to sex abuse?”

I saw that report a month ago on the Glenn Beck show when he interviewed Lila Rose.  Planned Parenthood has only one agenda – to increase the number of abortions in this country.  They don’t counsel young girls on pregnancy prevention and they certainly won’t bring law enforcement in to their midst even when it is mandated by law.  Great post.  I completely forgot about this.

Scott Spiegel presents If At First You Don’t Succeed, Fail, Fail Again! posted at Scott Spiegel.

Scott – a great compilation of Obama’s “accomplishments” in the last 5 months.  While I am a believer that success comes out of learning from failure – I’m afraid there won’t be any success from these failures.  Good post.

Phil B. presents Why Conservatives are typically not Conservationists too? « Phil for Humanity posted at Phil for Humanity, saying, “Have you wondered why most conservatives are not conservationists?”

Do you really believe that?  I believe in conservation – and I guess this goes to one of your other points – because it conserves my money.  I have solar panels on my roof, all energy star rated products, I recycle, I installed low-flow toilets, and low flow water regulators on my faucets, and I had my energy company put the governors on my meter to regulate and turn off the power during low peak hours.  As a result, I’m saving a considerable amount of money every month.  I think if more conservatives knew just how much money they could “conserve” more would jump on the bandwagon.

Silicon Valley Blogger presents 12 Ways To Beat Inflation: Don’t Let Rising Prices Get You Down posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “I offer several ways to beat inflation. It’s in the horizon, don’t you think? Find out how to address it before it comes.”

Great list!  As I commented on your site, some of these tips I’m already following, or doing, others were good common sense ideas that I hadn’t even thought about.  Thanks for being a regular contibutor and for providing such valuable tips and pointers given today’s economy.  I would recommend my readers to do as I did, check out this post and then print it off for future reference – or at a minimum – bookmark the page.

The Smarter Wallet presents Find Business Success In A Bad Economy: Managing A Failing Business posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “Is it still possible to find business success in a troubled economy? I investigate how business owners can survive the slowdown by keeping tabs on the bigger picture.”

I was considering buying in to a franchise (I won’t detail who and what here) and have been having some serious second thoughts about it.  While I realize this post was primarily tips for staying above water if you already own a business, I found that these tips also are helping to work through my decision.  As always, another great resources for my readers.

Liberal

Linda Jones presents 25 Shocking Facts About Chinese Censorship posted at Online College.org.

Hi Linda.  I’m not so sure of your age, but, these aren’t really shocking.  These are pretty well known.  It’s because of these basic human rights issues that many of we Conservatives opposed Clinton giving them “favored nation status” back in the ’90′s.  They are our biggest trading partner – yet – we don’t do anything to have them address things like this.  This list is minor compared to what they are physically doing to their people.

Holly presents Obama’s Excuse for Not Overturning “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” – “It’s a Generational Issue” posted at Menstrual Poetry.

Hi Holly – thanks for allowing me to post this up in the carnival.  We’ll take this one piece at a time.  First – you stated “Obama knows that about 75% of the American public supports the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” It would have been nice if you sourced that.  I searched everywhere and could not find a poll that stated that. Actually the latest gallup poll shows that 69% of Americans would support gays in the military.  However, what this poll doesn’t do is ask those in the military, or those who would consider military service, what their opinion is. Also – based on the tone of your post – it almost sounds like you are finally waking up to the fraud that Obama is that we on the right tried to warn you guys about.  Now to speak to the issue – Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.  First of all, I was against this legislation to begin with.  I was serving in the USAF when this was instituted.  The way our military was set up should have been left alone to begin with.  Sodomy is a UCMJ offense and homosexuals were run out immediately – as it should be.  There is no room for gays serving “openly” in our military.  Here’s why:

1. Have you ever heard of “blanket parties” – they exist.  Anyone who “openly” serves in our military will repeatedly find themselves on the receiving end of a blanket party.  They’ll be run out by our service members.

2. You would have to change the UCMJ to punish those who have a religious belief that being gay is abnormal and an abomination to God.  This would be against the First Amendment.

3. Machismo is alive and well in our military.  Anyone serving “openly” in the military would be treated as a pariah. No one will want to serve with that individual and it would be well known to that individual.  You would be putting that individual in harms way and putting undue stress on him/her.

4. It would kill the morale of our military members.

5. You would have to redesign all of the military barracks or make separate “shower times” for the openly gay.  In case you did not know – barrack living means communal showers.  It is not a matter of being a homophobe or anything like that – neither straight women nor straight men in the military want to be in the showers with someone that is openly gay.  YOU might find this ridiculous – but – it is the truth.

6. If you openly allow gays in the military and start punishing those in the military who oppose it, it will destroy our military.  Straight people won’t be signing up and those who are in won’t re-enlist.

If they do repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell – it needs to be back to what it was before Clinton put it in.  Gays are not welcome to openly serve in the military.

Libertarian

Chris presents Senate Proposes “Health Tax” on Fittest Americans posted at Martial Development, saying, “Does the government know how to best manage everyone’s health? It sure seems to think so…”

Given the choice – I would say hell no!  The government needs to stay out of our lives and stop “forcing” Americans to make choices.  This is America – the land of the free where we get to decide our own fates.  It is not the government’s job to take care of the people nor is it their job to make other people take care of those who refuse to take care of themselves.  Universal Health Insurance is not the answer.  Making access to affordable healthcare is the key.  The government plan just benefits the government and the insurance companies.

Martin Russell presents “Conspiracy of the Rich”- A Review posted at Word of Mouth Marketing.

Martin, I’ve been a big fan of Kiyosaki ever since I bought his first book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” I didn’t even know he had this new book out. Based on your review of this book, it is very relevant today and a must read – especially for those of us who have been buying his other books.  This guy has been right on for quite some time.

News

debergerac78 presents Make sure your entire company knows your ethics policies! posted at The Business Ethics Blog, saying, “The Washington Post’s business division appears to be offering lobbyists and association executives an exclusive chance to meet key Obama administration officials and members of Congress–for a considerable fee. The Post seems to have gone from newspaper to match-maker.”

Debergerac – thanks for bringing this to our attention.  Just further proof of the erosion and decline of journalism.

Archvillain presents I Apologize to the Gnats posted at A Dark and Sinister Force for Good, saying, “By comparison with the American public, the attention span of gnats spans centuries … and they’re less likely to get distracted by celebutainment.”

Archvillain – as always – your observations and comparisons are spot on. In case it wasn’t made painfully obvious with Honduras, with Obama siding with despots and dictators, his policy on non-intervention in Iran becomes oh so clear – he is more comfortable with those who oppose democracy.  You are right – the majority of the people in this country aren’t paying attention.  Our Iranian friends were crying out to America for help, and Obama turned his back on them in favor of supporting their leaders.  You gotta wonder where this country his headed with leadership like that.

Jared Rhoads presents Tea Party posted at The Lucidicus Project, saying, “The July 4th Tea Party protests in Boston were a success. Here is a brief report, with photos.”

Jared – awesome – thanks for sharing.  Did you notice how there was absolutely no coverage of any of these T.E.A. Parties in the MSM?  You stated “10′s of thousands” showed up on April 15th.  Actually, it was estimated to be about 250,000 across the country.  On July 4th there were about 1,500 protests across the country (compared to April’s 750) with some of those reaching in the 10′s of thousands themselves. It’s really hard to find solid numbers because the MSM refuses to report on them.

Rick Foreman presents Universal Health Care: It Just Makes Sense posted at Waiting for the Singularity.

Wow, Rick.  You obviously are basing your ideas on emotion versus fact.  Considering I am starting my dissertation in August earning my Ph.D. in Public Health – I can give you many factually based responses why Universal Health care is not the way to go.  However, I will limit it to just one main factor – if I started raising all the issues – it will turn my response in to a separate post (which I think I will do in response to your proposition) – the main reason against Universal Health care is:  Rationing.  The entire universal healthcare system is based on rationing of health care – something our current system does not do. Here are a list of resources you should read:

Cookson, R. & Dolan, P. (1999). Public views on health care rationing: a group discussion study. Health Policy, 49(1), (63-74).

Cookson, R. & Dolan, P. (2000). Principles of Justice in Health Care Rationing. British Medical Journal, 26, (323-329).

Strosberg, M.A., Wiener, J.M., & Baker, R. (1993). Rationing America’s Medical Care: The Oregon Plan and Beyond. Critical Care Medicine. Washington D.C.: Brookings Institute Publishers.

Schut, F.T., & Van de Ven, W.P.M.M. (2005). Rationing and competion in the Dutch health-care system. Health Economics, 14(S1), (S59-S75).

Once you understand this – we’ll talk again.  The bottom line is that the government makes the decisions on who is allowed access to health care based on a cost-benefit analysis – not on what is right for you.  They look at your age and current state of health compared to the costs to the state for the care required.  Do you really want the government to make decisions about your health care needs based on their fiscal budgets?

Politics

Super Saver presents A Crisis Wasted posted at My Wealth Builder.

Yup – saw that one coming!  At some point he’s gonna have to stop blaming Bush for his own failures.  He still uses the excuse that he inherited this problem.  Well, he inherited a $750 Billion deficit.  He has already tripled that in 5 months with it anticipated to quadruple by the end of the year.  He clearly let everyone know exactly how his administration was going to be run when he said “We won.”  Now, Pelosi and Reid are repeating that mantra.  Sure, the Dems won, but America lost.  I hope we can find some way of turning this around before we hit that point of no return.  Unless the administration and Obama start letting in some common sense, they will continue to spend this country out of control.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – July 5th, 2009 Edition

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday reflecting on and celebrating the independence of this country! Well – not its time to get back to business! You’ll notice we have some new contributors, regular contributors, and contributors from the past posting up again. Thanks to you all for making this the Carnival that it is!

Conservative

David Lamb presents When Treasuries Crowd Out Lending posted at Killer Buffalo.

David – welcome back!  Haven’t seen you around in a while.  I take it you’re getting prepared for your college years now! LOL…enjoy them!  In this article, I found it interesting that you attributed the recession to “skyrocketing interest rates.”  Actually, I’m still waiting for them to increase.  In 1990 when I bought my first home, it was at an 11% interest rate – and that was normal back then.  My car loan was at 14% – again, normal in 1990.  I would hardly say our interest rates have “skyrocketed.”  With the prime lending rate still floating around 4% – I would say the cause of this recession has been the lack of the fed to stabilize the markets by actually, and truly, increasing interest rates.  If you want people to invest – you need to raise the interest rates.  The best I can get on my CD’s right now is 3.5% if I go out 3 years.  My Money Market is only earning 1% interest.  I remember in 1990 when I could get 10 – 12% on my short-term CD’s.  The best way for this economy to stabilize and to bring investors back in to the market is to raise interest rates.  So – if you want to attribute this recession to interest rates – I would actually attribute it to the falsely deflated interest rates.

Jared Rhoads presents The Lucidicus Project posted at The Lucidicus Project, saying, “If the proposed public option for health insurance becomes law, then we may as well have Fannie Mae run it.”

“Fannie-Mae Healthcare” – sounds about right for this proposed monstronsity!  Let’s hope we garner enough support in the house to kill it right away.  The real solution is not “affordable health INSURANCE” – it’s affordable HEALTH CARE – Lower the cost of access to health care – i.e, through tort reform, and you open health care back up to free-market capitalism which is good for all.  Just providing insurance to everyone does nothing to lower the actual costs of healthcare. If anything – having this public option health insurance will just drive the costs up further.  Healthcare providers will increase their rates in order to cover the losses from that idiotic public plan.

Scott Spiegel presents Global Warming Killed Michael Jackson posted at Scott Spiegel.

Bwahaha!  Great title!  However, this is probably one of the best detailed posts regarding the “global warming” issue.  I’m with you – let’s hope there actually is an American Senator out there that is willing to ask the same questions as the Australian Senator and actually look at the facts rather than the myths before they vote on that economy killer of a bill.

Steve Parry presents This Explains A Lot posted at The Axis of Stevil, saying, “Sarcastic, but true.”

Michelle Obama hates kids!!!!!!  LOL – you’re right – this does actually explain a lot.

Silicon Valley Blogger presents Commodity Market Index: An Inflation Indicator posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Let’s talk inflation for a moment. I discuss various ways to predict inflation. I’m surprised nobody’s commented on this post yet (all other posts get comments) — are people just intimidated by this subject?”

Me – I say inflation is another necessary evil in a free-market capitalist system.  Inflation helps to stabilize the economy.  When you don’t allow inflation to occur and if you falsely keep interest rates down to try to curb inflation – you get what we have now – a serious recession leading towards a depression.  We could have avoided this had the Fed just allowed inflation to occur and run it’s natural course.  We wouldn’t be seeing the possibility of hyperinflation now.  In addition, when all these idiotic policies start hitting our economy – the price of everything will increase.  You are right though – If you follow your local prices at your local stores – you can see inflation creeping.  We should have seen this coming years ago.

The Smarter Wallet presents The Credit Crisis Explained Video posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “I’m going for a video this time, to display how the credit crisis evolved. Thanks!”

Excellent video.  Who’s Jonathon Jarvis?  I’ve seen similar illustrations -but – this was by far one of the more simplistic and easiest to understand.  Highly recommended.

Democrats

DWSUWF presents Under My Thumb. posted at Divided We Stand United We Fall, saying, “The damage is already done. Senator Al Franken will not make a meaningful difference. This single party Democratic government has already committed to trillions of new spending while quadrupling the deficit. They’ve dug a financial hole that can only be filled by imposing new economy-throttling taxes and unleashing the inflationary and currency devaluing monetary printing presses. These are the simple facts. Before Senator Al Franken, or after Senator Al Franken, the only thing that can restrain the Democrats now are the Democrats.”

Yup – but – considering all the crap they’ve been able to force through without Franken – I don’t think it really matters that they actually seated him.  We’ll see how many Senators up for re-election in 2010 would rather side with the people rather than the party of Franken and Obama.

Liberal

SpkTruth2Pwr presents Iraq: Roll ‘Em Up! Move ‘Em Out! posted at The Apathy Remedy, saying, “Why is it that there has been sparse coverage of the U.S. troops in Iraq lately? Maybe it is because things are actually on the right track with U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East.”

You do realize that by the MSM acknowledging the success – they would have to actually give credit to Bush, Cheney, and the entire Bush administration!  Since they can’t say this is a Democrat or Obama success – there’s no reason for them to report on it.  This withdrawal has nothing to do with Obama’s foreign policy as you have stated.  This withdrawal was agreed upon by Bush and Malaki last year.  So – why is there no reporting?  Because this is a conservative, republican, and Bush success. We know how Liberals and the liberal media hate to give credit to conservatives for anything.  Hell, Harry Reid and Obama both said last year that this war was lost.  Maybe that’s why the MSM doesn’t want to report on this success – it makes their Obamessiah look bad.

Rick Foreman presents Ice Cream and the Freedom of Dessert posted at Waiting for the Singularity.

OH…this has nothing to do with ice cream does it? ;) But, I am in agreement with you on this one, being the Libertarian Conservative that I am.  Our forefathers did not intend for my favorite, Moosetracks, to be forced upon those who prefer vanilla. I believe you have the right to believe that your favorite is better than my favorite and we both have the right to disagree with each other without the government forcing us to choose one, such as what the Obama administration is doing with all of their policies.

Miscellaneous

BH presents 7 Out of Top 10 Failed States are Muslim States posted at Bangladeshi Hindu.

Interesting!  What I also find interesting is that two countries currently at war (Iraq and Afghanistan) are actually ranked 6 and 7, respectively.  Those other countries 1 – 5 must be in REALLY bad shape then!

Kenny Silveira presents Is this what we have become? posted at Black Holes And Revelations, saying, “An article about the recent violence in Iran after the 2009 elections.”
Nice tribute to Neda and an eye-opening post to those that are sleeping.  It’s too bad our own President sides more with the Mullah’s than with the people.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents De-Moralized? posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Hmmm…that’s just as crazy as libtards blaming Glenn Beck and O’Reilly for Tiller The Baby-Killer’s death. Neither of them compute.

Bob Brooks presents Dazed and Confused – The Weapon of the Politicians posted at Bob Brooks – Prudent Money Blog.

Just keep reporting on this kind of stuff.  With enough of us bloggers out here pointing out the truth – eventually someone is going to come across it.  I have people that I work with that didn’t even know this thing passed last week.  I spoke to as many colleagues as possible leading up to the vote – but – I guess I wasn’t talking to the right people.  Keep up the great work, Bob.

News

nickel presents $15,000 Homebuyer’s Tax Credit is Back on the Table posted at fivecentnickel.com.

Personally, I think that’s a load of crap.  The tax credit – not your article! :)   We don’t need any more freakin’ tax credits.  What we need is more permanent tax cuts.  The tax credit is not going to incentive anyone to buy a home in this market unless they can also come up with the 20% downpayment.  Many banks are actually going back to using solid business decisions and lending practices – that includes money down and income and employment verification.  The smart home-buyers are staying in the homes the are already in rather than risk the values of their homes going down further.  The market still hasn’t bottomed out.  Using my money to incentivize people to buy homes they may not really want or can’t afford is just another bad idea.  Kinda sounds like what caused the financial meltdown in the first place.

Allen Scott presents With Malice Toward None posted at Journey Across the Sky, saying, “Something to think about as we celebrate our Freedom.”

Hey Allen – sorry this didn’t appear before July 4th.  I guess that’s just one of the hazards of posting this regularly on Sundays – sometimes the posts come a little later.  In any case – whether this comes before or after 4th of July – your discussion is still relevant for every day.  Long – but well worth the read.

Wenchypoo presents About That Climate Change Bill Voted On Last Friday… posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

Hey Wenchypoo – perhaps you might want to resubmit?  For whatever reason – this doesn’t link to anything – blogger says this link doesn’t exist.

Gal Josefsberg presents An Open Letter To Our Elected Officials posted at Gal Josefsberg, saying, “I want someone to inspire me, someone who will give us a cause to rally behind. With so many issues facing us, we need more than a manager, we need a leader.”

Good letter.  Hey, did you hear that Steve “Air” McNair was shot and killed?  Seriously, this country needs to focus on what is right rather than what the media wants us to look at.  We have far too many issues that effect all of individually that are before Congress that needs to be looked at.  I too am so tired of all the idiots in this country tied to the “boob tube” that they can’t even think critically any longer – nor do they care about the real issues.  Great post.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of The BoBo Carnival of Politics using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

No to Cap and Trade Energy Tax – Phone Numbers to Key Congress Members – and Wealth Redistribution built directly in the bill – Proof!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Congress, Democrats, Global warmongering, Liberals, Obama, Pelosi, Politics, President, Socialism, Taxes, energy, gas, government

I know – that was a pretty long freakin’ title! I apologize. I have a list of the phone numbers of key members of Congress at the end of this post – please call your representative and tell them to vote NO. If you believe that global warming exists and this is the right bill – did you also know that there is a direct redistribution of your money built directly in to this bill? (Complete text less latest 300 page amendment here opens a .pdf file).

From H.R. 2454, Section 431 – Energy Tax Credit

In the event of any reduced purchasing power as a result of Title VII of the Clean Air Act, provides tax credits to the lowest-income households to compensate for such losses.

From H.R. 2454, Section 432 – Energy Refund Program for Low-income Consumers

Directs the EPA Administrator to administer an “Energy Refund Program” to provide monthly cash energy refunds to low income individuals to compensate for any reduced purchasing power resulting from Title VII of this Act. Provides that energy refunds shall not be considered taxable income.

And – beginning on line 18 of page 819 in the .pdf file referenced above:

(d) DELIVERY MECHANISM.—
(1) Subject to standards and an implementation schedule set by the Administrator, the energy refund shall be provided in monthly installments via—
(A) direct deposit into the eligible house hold’s designated bank account;
(B) the State’s electronic benefit transfer 25 system; or
(C) another Federal or State mechanism,  if such a mechanism is approved by the Administrator.

So there are several things here – 1- it only goes to low-income persons defined in the act as anyone making 150% or less of the poverty level, 2 – they ALREADY KNOW this is going to kill the economy and take money from us, and 3 – they take money directly from our pockets and DIRECT DEPOSIT it in to the bank accounts of the poor – tax free.  This money is not subject to taxes as also defined in this act.  As I stated in yesterday’s post – this is the biggest ponzi and wealth redistribution scheme in American history.  Below are numbers of the key congressman – PLEASE CALL THEM NOW – IT’S NOT TOO LATE!

Cap and Trade up for a vote on Friday – let’s not lose focus!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Congress, Democrats, Eco-terrorists, Global warmongering, Idiots, Liberals, Obama, Pelosi, Politics, President, Republicans, Socialism, energy, government

Before I get on to the main topic – I will address the issue with Governor Sanford….Freakin’ scumbag idiot!  I don’t care whether the politician is a Democrat, a Republican, Libertarian, etc.  These people are elected to represent us and they ARE and SHOULD BE held to a higher standard than the general public.  I don’t give a rat’s ass if “they’re just human.”  If you can’t have enough moral fortitude to NOT CHEAT on your wife of 20 years – then you obviously don’t have the moral fortitude to hold a political office anywhere in this country.  I’m getting real tired of all these damned scumbag politicians lying, cheating, stealing, and getting away with it.  These people are supposed to be role models – WTF?  We shouldn’t have to explain to our children why our elected officials are corrupt or sleeping around on their spouses.  I say Sanford needs to resign and get the hell outta there.  I really liked the fact that he stood up to Obama and the Federal Government for state’s rights.  But, because of this bullshit he just pulled – it no longer matters.  He has just proven that he is as corrupt as the rest of those scumbags and he has no right to be in office.

Now – let’s not lose focus here people.  This is just another thing to keep us off track.  The Obama administration is pushing hard this week on healthcare reform.  The media is talking about N.Korea and Iran.  Sure – all of these are important issues – BUT – That is not what we need to be working no this week.  Teh One is up to his sleight of hand tricks again.  While everyone is talking about what the media and Obama wants us to talk about – they’re trying to slide the Cap-and-Trade bill through on us.  Pelosi is forcing a vote on it this Friday, June 26th, 2009 in the House.  This is that same piece of shit bill that Henry Waxman put together.  Or – actually – he didn’t put it together – he gave it to the global warmongering scientists to actually put it together.  This is that same piece of shit bill that Waxman admitted to not knowing everything in it.

According to The Heritage Foundation – the implementation of this Cap-and-Trade bill will result in a net loss of 2.5 million jobs; a GDP loss of $393 Billion each year capping at $662 Billion by 2035; and finally, by 2035 it will cost every family an additional $114,915 per year in debt payment – that already on top of the freakin’ $100,000+ each of us already owe as a result of those idiotic TARP and Spending bills.

And…what do we all get as a result of all these job losses, increased taxes, 50-90% increase in energy costs, and increased household debt? A reduction in CO2 emissions by 100ths of a percent by 2050!  Whoop-de-fucking-do!  This is the biggest freakin’ con job in American history.  There is absolutely no scientific proof that global warming is man-made.  In fact, the latest statistics prove beyond a shadow of doubt that we have been in a period of global cooling over the last decade and we will be in this cooling cycle for the next 30 years.  Check out this graphic:

Figure 2. Climate changes in the past 17,000 years from the GISP2 Greenland ice core. Red = warming, blue = cooling. (Modified from Cuffy and Clow, 1997)

and this one:

Figure 3. Alternating warm and cool cycles since 1470 AD. Blue = cool, red = warm. Based on oxygen isotope ratios from the GISP2 Greenland ice core.

As we can all see – there is evidence that Al Gore is a fucking moron and anybody who is buying his bullshit is just as stupid as he is.  Anybody that is buying in to this Obama and Waxman Cap-and-Trade bill are idiots.  This is nothing more than another wealth redistribution ponzi scheme and power grab by the government.

Please – call your Congressman and let them know you are opposed to this cap-and-trade ponzi scheme and you want them to vote NO.  If you don’t want to call them, you can always e-mail them. Use THIS LINK to find your representative and this will give you the opportunity to write them through an online form. THIS LINK will give you the ability to locate your representative and it provides their Congressional mailing address and phone number. Bill Dupray at The Patriot Room has some good links as well as a form letter to use.

UPDATE More evidence – this from the Wall Street Journal.

And – This from the Chicago Tribune – this freakin’ bill is now over 1,000 pages thick. Waxman already admitted he doesn’t know what is in this bill. Do you think ANYONE in Congress will even read this thing? Please call, write, e-mail – whatever – and tell them NO!!! America is already in the tank because of too much freakin’ government – this will put ALL of us in the poor house.

And – This from Michelle Malkin – The climate change e-mails EPA doesn’t want you to see. A clear case of the government not letting the facts get in the way of the agenda.

ANOTHER UPDATE I found THIS over at Opposing Views. This is pretty straight forward – not really sure why I hadn’t seen this anywhere else. Sure – some of the same info – but – it lays it out very clearly what will happen if cap yo ass and trade is passed tomorrow.

ANOTHER FREAKIN UPDATE? – okay – but – I’m gonna keep hammering this through as long as I can – found another great article as to why we can’t allow this bogus bill to get passed. From Real Clear Politics: Could Australia Blow Apart the Great Global Warming Scare?

Lastly – I have 10 copies of the following on order waiting for them to come in – I’ll be having a little contest to give these away – more to follow.  If you don’t want to wait – then you can click the link and order your own:
