Did hell just freeze over?

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, Iran, P-BO, Politics, President, government

Imagine my surprise when I came across this headline today:

France warns US on deal with Iran

Seems to me during the lead up to the Iraq war, and for many years after, we Americans were making fun of France for being lame and weak on the war on terror.  In just 9 short months, P-BO has turned America in to France.

France is anxious about the Obama administration’s pursuit of a deal on Iran’s nuclear programme, warning that the US must not allow Tehran to expand its uranium enrichment without facing fresh sanctions.

This just absolutely amazes me…France is now the heavy.  P-BO has obviously given the impression to the international community that America is weak and willing to negotiate unconditionally with terrorist regimes and dictators.

However, French officials insist Tehran must also pledge by December to freeze expansions of uranium enrichment – otherwise new sanctions should be imposed.

A French government official said: “Iran is looking for more time and a move which would give legitimacy to its programme. Imposing the freeze is absolutely essential.”

A US official acknowledged yesterday that the proposal was “not the solution to the Iranian nuclear programme”.

That US official is an idiot.  Of course it’s not the solution – but – it is essential that Iran immediately halt any further activity before we even get to the table.  Apparently, this administration doesn’t have the guts to do what it takes. I never thought I would EVER find myself siding with the French on anything.

The latest polls say it all:

51% of Americans think P-BO is too weak on Iran

88% of Americans are concerned about the Iran threat, of those, 59% are very concerned.

Despite the fact that P-BO has stated he believes Iran’s nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, 82% of Americans believe Iran’s program is for weapons development.

While P-BO is throwing our ally, Israel, to the wolves – 49% of Americans believe we should support and back Israel as opposed to just 37% who say we shouldn’t.

Again – P-BO has proven he is inept and out of touch – not only with the American people now, but with the international community as well.  Appears to me that he is an epic fail in America and in foreign affairs.

Hey, P-BO! You have a country to run, man!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Congress, Iran, Iraq, Israel, P-BO, Politics, government, health care

WTF is up with P-BO running off to Copenhagen trying to drum up support for Chicago to get the freakin’ olympics?

Dude – you have a country to run – or have you forgotten:

1.   Iraq – we’re still at war there buddy

2.  Afghanistan – we’re still at war there too – and – the general you appointed sent you a request for more troops over a month ago.  Don’t you think you should at least answer him?

3.  Iran – they’re in the process of building nukes and your guys are telling the rest of the world that Iran is still working towards a peaceful nuke program.  Umm…this time we have France and Germany behind us – unlike Iraq.  If you don’t take care of this – Israel will.

4.  Did you forget there is also a major health care reform debate going on in this country?  I thought this was your “baby”?

5.  Oh – and – by the way – we’re still in a very deep recession.  Your idiotic stimulus bill hasn’t done anything.  Unemployment continues to rise, the trade deficit continues to widen, foreclosures continue to rise, banks still are not lending to ordinary folks, and the only sector growing is government – they’re expecting to fill 273,000 positions by 2012.  Seriously, do you think you can deal with this?

6.  Congress is continuing to spend like drunken sailors, every bill coming out continues to add to the deficit, and the Fed is printing money like crazy.  Serious inflation is just around the corner and the rest of the world is seriously pushing now to move away from the dollar – I think this is a little more important than trying to get the Olympics in gangstaland U.S.A.

7.  Social Security effectively will become insolvent by the end of next year – don’t you think this deserves your attention?

Seriously, P-BO – given all of the above, America probably won’t even exist in 2016, especially if the world moves away from the dollar and Iran completes their nuke weapons.  Neither Illinois nor America would be able to afford to host the Olympics.  One last thing – given that it costs $86,000/hr to operate Air Force One – who the hell is footing this bill?  Since there is absolutely no reason for you to be there – it is not official U.S. business.  I fully expect you to send the bill to Chicago because I sure as hell don’t want to pay for yet another vacation and wasteful spending by idiots in like you in D.C.

One last thing – can you explain these? What exactly have you done to sell out America to China that they are comparing you to Mao?

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – August 2, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: America, BoBo, Carnival, Congress, Conservative, Fascism, Iran, Liberals, Obama, Politics, RINO, Socialism, government, health care, marxism

Wow! It’s August already. This year is just flying by. I’m fully expecting to see some Halloween and Thanksgiving holiday stuff out at the stores hitting the shelves real soon. With that being said, welcome to another fine installment of The BoBo Carnival of Politics. We have some great submissions yet again – very timely – and great topics.

Before we get started – I want to bring something to everyone’s attention – Bill Campbell of The Tome of The Unknown Writer has a little project going on regarding the health care debate. Go check it out. He’s asking for stories – good, or bad – regarding your health care experiences. It is a totally non-partisan project. If you’re inclined, check it out, get the details, and give him your stories.

So – let’s get started:

Welcome to the August 2, 2009 edition of the bobo carnival of politics.

Conservative

Norbert Sluzewski presents Is Meritocracy Dead in America? posted at Naked Liberty.

Well – given the fact that the current SCOTUS nominee has been touted as a great example of affirmative action at work – and that both Barack and Michelle have stated they benefited from affirmative action – I believe that meriticracy in this country is indeed dead.  Not only that, but with one provision of that healthcare bill being that medical schools will obtain funding if they reach increased quotas of minorities enrolled versus enrolling those on merit who actually deserve to be in med school, its just further proof that socialism is being sown in this country.  When social constructs take precedence over merit – society loses.

Scott Spiegel presents Just Make Sure It’s Not a Blue Moon Belgian White posted at Scott Spiegel.

Yeah – and if this summit was all about making nicey nice – then why were there no apologies from Barack or Gates?  Nothing more than a photo op if you ask me.  Absolutely nothing got accomplished as far as race relations go in this country.  It just showed this country that two racist black men can get away with using the race card – if they just give the white man a beer.

Scott Spiegel presents Can We Decommission the Health Care Bill with Sodium Silicate? posted at Scott Spiegel.

This fits in nicely with Selkirk’s and Wenchypoo’s pieces below. Personally, I think we need to decommission our entire government at this point.  One bad idea after another – and we’re the one’s paying for it.

Paul presents Fix Entitlement Programs, Then Fix Health Care posted at Paul’s Political Punditcy.

Couldn’t agree with you more on this one, Paul.  The figures you site are frightening.  If those “Big 3″ (as you put it) aren’t fixed – that will be the only thing we’re all working towards funding.  That’s sheer lunacy.

Anthony Delgado presents Reproductive Technology: Surrogate Motherhood posted at eInquisitive | Giving you something productive to think about!.

Well, Anthony – not entirely related to politics – but – I’ll let this one in this week – it’s a good topic and some of my readers might be interested in it.

Selkirk presents Top 6 Unintended Consequences of ObamaCare posted at Political Castaway Blog: Broadcasting Conservatism to Rescue America.

Selkirk – this ties in nicely with the piece that I did last week regarding my position that health insurance is not a right.  Some of what you have indicated as the unintended consequences fit in with my solutions.  Great post – and – right on target.

Steve Parry presents Sotomayor And Racial Profiling posted at The Axis of Stevil, saying, “In my humble typical white opinion.”

I already added my say on this in your comment section.  Now we have the NRA out there as well telling the Senators that if they support her they will actively campaign against them.  This is a bad pick for SCOTUS and the United States.

Silicon Valley Blogger presents Is The Economic Downturn Over? posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Is this economic recession over? Some thoughts!”

Well – that would be nice.  However, I look at the other indicators as well – the GDP, GNP, Productivity, and the housing market – in addition to the ones in your post.  These other indicators are all still down – and – other economists, in addition to the Association of Realtors, is stating there is another wave of foreclosures coming – not only in the consumer market – but as well as in the commercial market.  There has been an increase in delinquent payments from the A-rated borrowers.  Personally, I think this latest volley from the administration trying to say the recession is over is just a propoganda push.  If you say it enough – people will start believing it.  The four indicators I mentioned are still in decline.

The Smarter Wallet presents Euro vs Dollar (USD): Weak US Dollar Ahead? posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “Do we have inflation ahead? Forecasting inflation by checking how the US dollar is behaving.”

Another good analysis on your part.  All the indicators would suggest inflation, actually I would say, hyperinflation is just ahead.  With oil being pegged to the dollar, and the dollar still in decline, all other currencies are up on the dollar – I would say you can bet on it.  As for trading for Euro’s – interesting.  I’ve been investing in gold, personally.

NotYourDaddy presents How to Undermine the Economy posted at Government is not your Daddy., saying, “If you wanted to come up with a plan to undermine the economy of the most prosperous and successful nation on earth, how would you go about it? The first thing you’d have to do would be to debase the underlying value system that provides the foundation for prosperity.”

Surely, you wouldn’t be suggesting that our socialist President is putting all this in to place? If you haven’t seen this video already – wow – nevermind – I had a video from youtube bookmarked – it was titled 45 goals for U.S. Marxism – taken from the 1963 congressional record – seems to have been pulled because of a “terms of use violation.”  We already know that google and youtube are in the tank for this administration.  But – with my skills – I was able to find this. It’s the transcripts.  Sounds eerily similar to what you have put forth and to what is exactly happening in this country now.

Liberal

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Dear Senator Inhofe posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Mad Kane – looks like you’re the only liberal who dared venture in to the carnival this week.  I am actually one of those “birthers” myself.  Until I see an actual true copy of this original birth certificate – I won’t believe me.  The one they continue to show around was printed on a dot-matrix printer – you know – something they didn’t have in 1961 – yet – no one really discusses that point.  However, regarding your limerick and Inhofe – not a really big fan of that guy myself.  He’s as crooked as the rest of the Dems and Repubs up there.

News

taucan62 presents New York Shipping Out The Homeless posted at rjjrdq’s America II, saying, “It looks like the big apple wants to make homelessness your problem, not theirs.”

Hey, Taucan – welcome back to the carnival.  That was exactly my first thought when I heard about this.  Giving the homeless a one-way ticket out of NY.  What ever happened to those compassionate liberals up there in NYC?  Is this how they really take care of the underserved and underprivileged – by making them the problem of other states?  Freakin’ crazy if you ask me.

SpkTruth2Pwr presents Iran Election: Fraud Allegations Die Without A Trace posted at The Apathy Remedy.

I can’t imagine living in a country like that either where opposition to the government is dealt with by death. It’s no wonder they are backing down from their claims.  Given that our administration didn’t support them, I can understand it.

Politics

Norbert Sluzewski presents The Lobbyist Does Not Speak the Peoples’ Voice posted at Naked Liberty.

I like the analogy using the “echo” game.  That does appear to be what is happening.  Lobbyists are only the voice of their clients.  Unfortunately, we the people, who actually should have the power, have no voice.  Our government has resigned themselves to listening only to lobbyists and special interest groups.  In fact, one particular special interest group – The Apollo Project – wrote the last “stimulus” bill.  Whatever happened to politicians actually writing the bills.  When you have lobbyists and special interest groups actually being the designers and architects of our bills – we no longer have a government for the people, by the people.  We need a serious overhaul of our government and we need to start electing representatives that will vow NEVER to do business with lobbyists or special interest groups.  I know Obama said he wouldn’t have lobbyists – but – he also said a lot of other things that he lied about.  Some of us tried to warn the people and to look at his past.  I’m hoping that after seeing his example, the electorate (we the people) will really start paying attention to history rather than rhetoric.  Great post.

Riversider presents Labour’s Public Spending Cuts Strategy – Asylum Seekers Can Be Hammered First posted at River’s Edge, saying, “The Labour government in the UK are beginning a huge programme of public spending cuts. Who have they chosen to hit first with their cuts? Yes the weakest, poorest and most desperate people around, asylum seekers. Wonder who will be next?”

Riverside – thanks for including this in the carnival this week.  It’s a great look inside the government of our cousins across the big pond.  When the U.S. government makes cuts – they always seem to threaten to cut the services of the underserved and underprivileged – not to mention – vital services like police and firefighters.  I wonder why they never consider cutting salaries of government workers, reducing the size of over-bloated departments, and just flat out getting rid of wasteful spending programs and departments altogether.  We give out hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to stupid things like studying the effect of alcohol on strippers in Venezuela, or giving money to the arts to produce underground pornography – yet – they cut spending on vital services.  Looks like your government sucks as much as ours.

Wenchypoo presents My View on “Cash-for-Clunkers” posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

Good one.  The only thing this program will do is force used car businesses out of business using our tax dollars to do it.  Those so-called clunkers that get turned in are required to be scrapped and the engines completely disabled then shredded.  This will create an artificial reduction in the number of used cars in this country.  When supply is down and demand is up – prices go up.  Those once affordable used cars will now be so over-priced and no longer affordable that you may as well get a new car – one that the government will force on us – ones that we don’t want.  Just more government control. They can’t even run this program efficiently and they want to take over health care?

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of the bobo carnival of politics using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – July 12, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: America, Carnival, China, Conservative, Democrats, Iran, Liberals, Obama, Politics, energy, government, libertarian

We have a great carnival this week folks! Lot’s of really lively submissions to comment on. Make sure you stop by the blogs of my contributors and let them know your opinions about their submissions.

Conservative

Phil B. presents End All Foreign Aid posted at Phil for Humanity, saying, “In 2008, the United States gave an estimated 26 billion dollars in foreign aid to other countries. For free… Yup, the U.S. government continues giving away your hard earned tax dollars.”

100% in agreement Phil.  In today’s economy, it makes absolutely no sense that we continue to send $billions to other countries when we could use it here.  Obama has plans to nearly double that with a price tag of $50 Billion!!  He’s gonna bankrupt this country. Seems he cares more about other countries than he does America.

Rich Bordner presents Epic Fail: Planned Parenthood Shows its True Colors…Again « The Pugnacious Irishman posted at The Pugnacious Irishman, saying, “Planned Parenthood has it backwards–rather than being angry at Lila Rose for exposing wickedness in their ranks, why aren’t they angry at the PP workers who would fail to protect girls by turning a blind eye to sex abuse?”

I saw that report a month ago on the Glenn Beck show when he interviewed Lila Rose.  Planned Parenthood has only one agenda – to increase the number of abortions in this country.  They don’t counsel young girls on pregnancy prevention and they certainly won’t bring law enforcement in to their midst even when it is mandated by law.  Great post.  I completely forgot about this.

Scott Spiegel presents If At First You Don’t Succeed, Fail, Fail Again! posted at Scott Spiegel.

Scott – a great compilation of Obama’s “accomplishments” in the last 5 months.  While I am a believer that success comes out of learning from failure – I’m afraid there won’t be any success from these failures.  Good post.

Phil B. presents Why Conservatives are typically not Conservationists too? « Phil for Humanity posted at Phil for Humanity, saying, “Have you wondered why most conservatives are not conservationists?”

Do you really believe that?  I believe in conservation – and I guess this goes to one of your other points – because it conserves my money.  I have solar panels on my roof, all energy star rated products, I recycle, I installed low-flow toilets, and low flow water regulators on my faucets, and I had my energy company put the governors on my meter to regulate and turn off the power during low peak hours.  As a result, I’m saving a considerable amount of money every month.  I think if more conservatives knew just how much money they could “conserve” more would jump on the bandwagon.

Silicon Valley Blogger presents 12 Ways To Beat Inflation: Don’t Let Rising Prices Get You Down posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “I offer several ways to beat inflation. It’s in the horizon, don’t you think? Find out how to address it before it comes.”

Great list!  As I commented on your site, some of these tips I’m already following, or doing, others were good common sense ideas that I hadn’t even thought about.  Thanks for being a regular contibutor and for providing such valuable tips and pointers given today’s economy.  I would recommend my readers to do as I did, check out this post and then print it off for future reference – or at a minimum – bookmark the page.

The Smarter Wallet presents Find Business Success In A Bad Economy: Managing A Failing Business posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “Is it still possible to find business success in a troubled economy? I investigate how business owners can survive the slowdown by keeping tabs on the bigger picture.”

I was considering buying in to a franchise (I won’t detail who and what here) and have been having some serious second thoughts about it.  While I realize this post was primarily tips for staying above water if you already own a business, I found that these tips also are helping to work through my decision.  As always, another great resources for my readers.

Liberal

Linda Jones presents 25 Shocking Facts About Chinese Censorship posted at Online College.org.

Hi Linda.  I’m not so sure of your age, but, these aren’t really shocking.  These are pretty well known.  It’s because of these basic human rights issues that many of we Conservatives opposed Clinton giving them “favored nation status” back in the ’90′s.  They are our biggest trading partner – yet – we don’t do anything to have them address things like this.  This list is minor compared to what they are physically doing to their people.

Holly presents Obama’s Excuse for Not Overturning “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” – “It’s a Generational Issue” posted at Menstrual Poetry.

Hi Holly – thanks for allowing me to post this up in the carnival.  We’ll take this one piece at a time.  First – you stated “Obama knows that about 75% of the American public supports the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” It would have been nice if you sourced that.  I searched everywhere and could not find a poll that stated that. Actually the latest gallup poll shows that 69% of Americans would support gays in the military.  However, what this poll doesn’t do is ask those in the military, or those who would consider military service, what their opinion is. Also – based on the tone of your post – it almost sounds like you are finally waking up to the fraud that Obama is that we on the right tried to warn you guys about.  Now to speak to the issue – Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.  First of all, I was against this legislation to begin with.  I was serving in the USAF when this was instituted.  The way our military was set up should have been left alone to begin with.  Sodomy is a UCMJ offense and homosexuals were run out immediately – as it should be.  There is no room for gays serving “openly” in our military.  Here’s why:

1. Have you ever heard of “blanket parties” – they exist.  Anyone who “openly” serves in our military will repeatedly find themselves on the receiving end of a blanket party.  They’ll be run out by our service members.

2. You would have to change the UCMJ to punish those who have a religious belief that being gay is abnormal and an abomination to God.  This would be against the First Amendment.

3. Machismo is alive and well in our military.  Anyone serving “openly” in the military would be treated as a pariah. No one will want to serve with that individual and it would be well known to that individual.  You would be putting that individual in harms way and putting undue stress on him/her.

4. It would kill the morale of our military members.

5. You would have to redesign all of the military barracks or make separate “shower times” for the openly gay.  In case you did not know – barrack living means communal showers.  It is not a matter of being a homophobe or anything like that – neither straight women nor straight men in the military want to be in the showers with someone that is openly gay.  YOU might find this ridiculous – but – it is the truth.

6. If you openly allow gays in the military and start punishing those in the military who oppose it, it will destroy our military.  Straight people won’t be signing up and those who are in won’t re-enlist.

If they do repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell – it needs to be back to what it was before Clinton put it in.  Gays are not welcome to openly serve in the military.

Libertarian

Chris presents Senate Proposes “Health Tax” on Fittest Americans posted at Martial Development, saying, “Does the government know how to best manage everyone’s health? It sure seems to think so…”

Given the choice – I would say hell no!  The government needs to stay out of our lives and stop “forcing” Americans to make choices.  This is America – the land of the free where we get to decide our own fates.  It is not the government’s job to take care of the people nor is it their job to make other people take care of those who refuse to take care of themselves.  Universal Health Insurance is not the answer.  Making access to affordable healthcare is the key.  The government plan just benefits the government and the insurance companies.

Martin Russell presents “Conspiracy of the Rich”- A Review posted at Word of Mouth Marketing.

Martin, I’ve been a big fan of Kiyosaki ever since I bought his first book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad.” I didn’t even know he had this new book out. Based on your review of this book, it is very relevant today and a must read – especially for those of us who have been buying his other books.  This guy has been right on for quite some time.

News

debergerac78 presents Make sure your entire company knows your ethics policies! posted at The Business Ethics Blog, saying, “The Washington Post’s business division appears to be offering lobbyists and association executives an exclusive chance to meet key Obama administration officials and members of Congress–for a considerable fee. The Post seems to have gone from newspaper to match-maker.”

Debergerac – thanks for bringing this to our attention.  Just further proof of the erosion and decline of journalism.

Archvillain presents I Apologize to the Gnats posted at A Dark and Sinister Force for Good, saying, “By comparison with the American public, the attention span of gnats spans centuries … and they’re less likely to get distracted by celebutainment.”

Archvillain – as always – your observations and comparisons are spot on. In case it wasn’t made painfully obvious with Honduras, with Obama siding with despots and dictators, his policy on non-intervention in Iran becomes oh so clear – he is more comfortable with those who oppose democracy.  You are right – the majority of the people in this country aren’t paying attention.  Our Iranian friends were crying out to America for help, and Obama turned his back on them in favor of supporting their leaders.  You gotta wonder where this country his headed with leadership like that.

Jared Rhoads presents Tea Party posted at The Lucidicus Project, saying, “The July 4th Tea Party protests in Boston were a success. Here is a brief report, with photos.”

Jared – awesome – thanks for sharing.  Did you notice how there was absolutely no coverage of any of these T.E.A. Parties in the MSM?  You stated “10′s of thousands” showed up on April 15th.  Actually, it was estimated to be about 250,000 across the country.  On July 4th there were about 1,500 protests across the country (compared to April’s 750) with some of those reaching in the 10′s of thousands themselves. It’s really hard to find solid numbers because the MSM refuses to report on them.

Rick Foreman presents Universal Health Care: It Just Makes Sense posted at Waiting for the Singularity.

Wow, Rick.  You obviously are basing your ideas on emotion versus fact.  Considering I am starting my dissertation in August earning my Ph.D. in Public Health – I can give you many factually based responses why Universal Health care is not the way to go.  However, I will limit it to just one main factor – if I started raising all the issues – it will turn my response in to a separate post (which I think I will do in response to your proposition) – the main reason against Universal Health care is:  Rationing.  The entire universal healthcare system is based on rationing of health care – something our current system does not do. Here are a list of resources you should read:

Cookson, R. & Dolan, P. (1999). Public views on health care rationing: a group discussion study. Health Policy, 49(1), (63-74).

Cookson, R. & Dolan, P. (2000). Principles of Justice in Health Care Rationing. British Medical Journal, 26, (323-329).

Strosberg, M.A., Wiener, J.M., & Baker, R. (1993). Rationing America’s Medical Care: The Oregon Plan and Beyond. Critical Care Medicine. Washington D.C.: Brookings Institute Publishers.

Schut, F.T., & Van de Ven, W.P.M.M. (2005). Rationing and competion in the Dutch health-care system. Health Economics, 14(S1), (S59-S75).

Once you understand this – we’ll talk again.  The bottom line is that the government makes the decisions on who is allowed access to health care based on a cost-benefit analysis – not on what is right for you.  They look at your age and current state of health compared to the costs to the state for the care required.  Do you really want the government to make decisions about your health care needs based on their fiscal budgets?

Politics

Super Saver presents A Crisis Wasted posted at My Wealth Builder.

Yup – saw that one coming!  At some point he’s gonna have to stop blaming Bush for his own failures.  He still uses the excuse that he inherited this problem.  Well, he inherited a $750 Billion deficit.  He has already tripled that in 5 months with it anticipated to quadruple by the end of the year.  He clearly let everyone know exactly how his administration was going to be run when he said “We won.”  Now, Pelosi and Reid are repeating that mantra.  Sure, the Dems won, but America lost.  I hope we can find some way of turning this around before we hit that point of no return.  Unless the administration and Obama start letting in some common sense, they will continue to spend this country out of control.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – June 28, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: America, BoBo, Carnival, Congress, Conservative, Education, Elections, Iran, Israel, Liberals, Obama, Politics, Public School System, Russia, School, globalization, government, libertarian, marxism

Quite the week we’ve had so far! Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays all dead.  Unfreakin’ believable!  I wish piece of shit crap and tax bill would have died as well!  Anyway – after a two week hiatus – The BoBo Carnival of Politics is back with another great edition.  Have at it people!

Conservative

The Smarter Wallet presents Dave Ramsey’s Town Hall For Hope posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “How does Dave Ramsey explain the financial crisis?”

You’ll see below in response to your credit card discussion that I mentioned I already paid off a few cards and have one left before I’m out of debt.  I went through the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University.  Dave Ramsey is awesome and what you have on your blog is absolutey right.  Once again, great post using a great resource.  I highly recommend it to anybody to view his Town Hall video and his Financial Peace University – especially in today’s economy.

Michael Bass presents Joe Tegerdine VS Gene Taylor! The Battle For Mississippi’s 4th Congressional District! posted at Debt Prison, saying, “Every now and then a person runs for office that gives us hope. For many voters in the last election Barack Obama was that person. Obama promised ambiguous ‘Change’ and the people bought it. Unfortunately, for many Obama fans and devout Democrats, his foreign policy actions and his further crack down on civil liberties has come to resemble something like George Bush part II.”

Interesting – hopefully, Tegerdine turns out to be a true conservative then maybe he can defeat that faux Democratic Conservative Taylor.

lsm presents Teddy?s Legacy Will Kill Us All posted at awaken the elephants blog.

LSM – excellent.  I have nothing further to add to this.

Scott Spiegel presents U.S. Invents Diabolical Weapon Called “Twitter” to Bring Down Iranian Regime posted at Scott Spiegel, saying, “President Obama said last week that he doesn’t want the U.S. to be seen as “meddling” in the recent Iranian presidential election. In his view, vocally supporting the protesters is comparable to the CIA’s coup against Mossadeq in 1953.”

Amen, brother!  We should be standing behind the Iranian citizens with the full faith and trust of our government and our own citizens.  Obama is wrong on this one.

Liberal

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Don’t Ask. Don’t Tell. Just Sign! posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Mad Kane – I’m sure I don’t need to say this – personally – I think this needs to be repealed entirely and have it back to what it was before Clinton instituted the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy.  The UCMJ states that sodomy is a punishable offense as is any other forms of homosexual relations.  We don’t need gays OPENLY serving in the military.  This would be a huge bust for the morale of our military.  I’m sorry – but – the military is by no means ready for this and it would not be accepted.

Libertarian

Wenchypoo presents Just When You Thought You Ran Out of Hope posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

Bwahaha – Liberty Lentils – good one.

Miscellaneous

Bob Brooks presents Wall Street Execs Living Large While the Rest of the Country Hurts posted at Bob Brooks – Prudent Money Blog.

Don’t forget – Timothy “Turbo Tax” Geithner is a Goldman Sachs alumni himself and still has buddies there.  Nothing will be done.  Just more paybacks from this administration for these company’s providing material support for Obama.

Mikkal Travvis presents Ron Paul And The Federal Reserve posted at The Truth.

I don’t generally tend to side with Ron Paul on many issues.  I think he’s a nutjob with a lot of his positions.  However, I support him 100% with regards to doing away with the Federal Reserve and having them open their books.  The decision in the 30′s to hand over that much power to a private organization was by far one of the most idiotic things this country and our government has ever done.  It’s time to take that power away from them.

News

Terri Choate presents Trickle Down Learning posted at Plum Duff…not your ordinary gruel!, saying, “Maybe this is old news…but school districts regularly understate the money spent per pupil as they ask for more, more, more.”

Great article.  Public schools happens to be one of my “soap-box” issues.  While I don’t know what the per pupil cost is in my district – we have multiple layers of administration that are totally unnecessary.  Since when does a High School and Middle School need a freakin Assistant Principle for each grade and each of them having a secretary, etc etc – not to mention each grade having at least 2 “administrators” that handle discipline.  It’s gotten so ridiculous that most of our tax money goes to paying salaries instead of purchasing text books.  I sent four kids through public school.  2 graduated and 2 dropped out.  I’m sending my last 2 to private schools now.

Bradley Hankins presents Who Is Back? posted at Bradley Hankins, saying, “You was wondering when I was going to start up again. Well here I am.”

Welcome Back Bradley – looking forward to your analysis of the various bills.

The Smarter Wallet presents Applying For A Credit Card? Review The Credit Card Bill of Rights posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Obama just signed into law some regulations that will help curb some of the unpopular practices done by the credit industry. Here’s what’s in the credit card bill of rights, which is under review by our government.”

Great words of advise for those who are thinking about getting a credit card.  I already cut up all mine and have paid them off.  I have one more to go then I’m out of credit card hell.  My advise is – use cash!  If you can’t afford to pay for it in cash – well – then in today’s economy – you really can’t afford it at all then.  Save for it instead.

Politics

Bradley Hankins presents Common Sense Foreign Policy: North Korea posted at Bradley Hankins, saying, “Common sense dealings with North Korea. Even more to come, just one was just too easy.”

You are absolutely right – we should not be looking to the international community to protect ourselves.  That is just plain ridiculous.  Great post.

NAOMI presents NEW AD AGAINST BENEFIT THIEVES posted at Diary From England.

Naomi – I’ll have to admit that I haven’t been paying real close attention to exactly what is going on over on your side of the big pond.  However, I have been following Daniel Hannen pretty closely so I get the point.  Unfortunately, we’re seeing a similar situation here in the U.S. – rather than second homes – our politicians get lifelong benefits and 100% salary after they retire and that even gets passed on to their spouses after they die and then the spouses collect 100% benefit and salary until they die.  Pretty freakin ridiculous that these politicians consider themselves so elite they can steal from we the people.

Bradley Hankins presents Transparency posted at Bradley Hankins, saying, “Honestly, putting legislation in plain English would help so much.”

Agreed!  However, this administration that promised transparency has given us none at all.

Jake presents Why the World Hates America (Part 1) posted at Global Implications, saying, “Given the negative attitude toward the United States around the world, I am writing a multi-part series on the actions of the US since World War II with the worst consequences. I will post an article every day and should finish the seven-part series on Friday, June 26.”

Jake – I hope you don’t mind but I took the liberty to post the links to the remaining articles.  This is a very interesting analysis.  However, I would say that we still have many more friends and allies than we do enemies.  It seems our only real enemies in the world are radical regimes. Please post up the last remaining parts in next week’s carnival! Personally, regarding Part 5 – I think we need to “unflinchingly” support Israel.  They are our only true ally in the middle east.  Being a former Hebrew Linguist in the Air Force – I understand Israel and the day-to-day struggles they have to face.  They are under constant terrorist attack every day.  They need our support and we should stand behind them all the way.

Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5

Ram Raghavan presents The incorrectness of political correctness posted at ramraghav.com, saying, “What is political correctness? What is its cause and its consequence?”

Ram – you are so totally right on with this post.  The only thing I would add here is that the history of Political Correctness actually has its roots in marxism and Russia.  Here’s another good resource for you on the history.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of the bobo carnival of politics using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

Obama driving the U.S. towards Fascism at record pace!

From Merriem-Webster’s

Main Entry:
fas·cism
Pronunciation:
\ˈfa-ˌshi-zəm also ˈfa-ˌsi-\
Function:
noun
Etymology:
Italian fascismo, from fascio bundle, fasces, group, from Latin fascis bundle & fasces fasces
Date:
1921

1.often capitalized : a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
2: a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control

After the latest government takeover of private industry – I am no longer stating that Obama is leading us towards socialism. He has in fact proven that he is following in Mussolini, Hitler, and FDR’s footsteps and moving this country towards Fascism at a speed that is almost uncontrollable. While FDR certainly was moving towards Fascism and was a great admirer of Mussolini – not even FDR has accomplished the feat that Obama has in less than six months.

It has now gotten so bad in this country that we have China, Russia, and Germany telling us to stop heading towards socialism. Of all the countries to warn the U.S. about it’s socialist tendencies right now – Russia and China? I think they have it wrong anyway – Obama is a Fascist – not a socialist. Socialists take over private business and run everything and make all the decisions for the benefit of the collective. Fascists “partner” with private business and will provide an allusion that the private organization is in control – but in the end – makes all the business decisions – not for the good of the people – but for the good of the government elite.

You guys on the left kept calling Bush a fascist because he supported big business. That just means that you really did not understand the definition of Fascism nor did you study history and the rise and fall of Mussolini and Hitler. These guys were the epitome of Fascist. They took over all private business. Left the corporations in place – but partnered with the CEO’s of those businesses. All production was to the benefit of the government. Under a socialist regime – all production is for the benefit of the people and work and profit are equally distributed.

I want you to really look at what has happened to our auto industry, finance industry, and insurance industry. The government has taken ownership of the largest of these corporations (GM, Chrysler, Bank of America, AIG, etc.) Those banks that took the TARP money are not even allowed to give it back now. If Obama wasn’t in the business of nationalizing our financial system – why aren’t the banks now allowed to become private businesses again? Look at what Obama did to Chrysler – He fired their CEO and also made cuts to their advertising budget. That is the definition of fascist government control over private industry. Same thing for AIG – he feigned outrage over the bonuses – yet – he had complete control over the fates of every single individual working at AIG. He knew all the details – yet – he needed to demonize the industry for the people to cry out. This allowed Obama to take over AIG – no questions asked.

Obama says he doesn’t want to run the auto companies and said on Monday that government will only be involved in the “fundamental decisions.” People – wake the hell up! The most fundamental decisions of any business IS the business. He plans on being involved at every level of decision making with GM. If that weren’t true – then why the hell does he have some totally unqualified 31-year-old kid with absolutely no economic experience, no private industry experience, and no auto-industry experience controlling the fate of GM?

Next on the horizon for Obama’s fascist takeover America is our healthcare system and energy sector. The latest poll states that 80% of Americans are satisfied with their insurance coverage. Why the hell would we allow the government to control of something that the majority of Americans are actually happy with? Once government takes over health care – they can now dictate every aspect of our life – if you don’t believe me – just ask anybody who has been through the Canadian or British Health Systems. Your ability to access healthcare will be based on your health – are you a smoker? are you obese? do you eat more red meat than you should? How old are you? etc. Socialized medicine is based on a system of rationing and there are very strict guidelines as to who will be covered under that system. I urge you to google it yourselves – I could give you thousands of links of examples of this. I have a British family living next to me and the wife is a former nurse for the BHS. She is now a nurse here in the U.S.. Since my wife is a nurse as well – we often have lots of discussion regarding a comparison of the BHS and our system here. She felt stifled as a nurse under the BHS because while she really wanted to provide care to her patients – the government had strict control over what care could be provided depending on the individual’s socioeconomic position and general health.

If you don’t think this is possible – just read the provision of the new HITECH Act under the ARRA. This will require that EVERY physician and health care provider be on electronic medical records by 2014. As part of that requirement – a national database will be created and maintained by the federal government. EVERY EMR system in America will be linked to that national database. You want to talk about “Big Brother!” You will no longer have health care privacy in America. The government will have access to and will maintain every piece of health information about you. This system will also have real-time capabilities for the government to direct your physician during your visit. The government will be deciding your course of treatment – not your physician. Do you still think that Obama is not a Fascist? He will now decided what kind of car you drive, who gets loans from the banks, who gets insured, and who gets appropriate health coverage. Having control over the health care system – he will also be able to control what foods we eat. He will use the FDA and EPA to regulate the national food supply. Don’t believe me? How many times have you read something in the news about one of those lefty states trying to regulate through food taxes or placing bans on certain foods? The FDA and EPA will ensure those bans because the national healthcare database has provided evidence that supports their bans.

Lastly – well, as far as what we know right now to be lastly – with the Cap & Trade scheme that Obama is proposing – the smart grid will also control your thermostats in your homes. You will no longer have control over your own home. Obama said it himself – check that link. This Cap & Trade will also be utilized to dictate policy over the auto industry that the government controls. They will be able to use these regulations to push cars on us that we don’t want.

I know this sounds a bit conspiratorial – but – you have to look at the evidence so far. None of this can be blamed on Bush any longer. Obama has now spent more in 6 months than every administration in the previous 30 years. How the hell can you blame that on Bush? Obama has tripled the national debt in less than 6 months and this year alone plans on borrowing $2 Trillion!!!!!! He had a budget deficit of $850 Billion when he came in to office. You can no longer blame this on Bush. While I did not agree with much of what Bush did – he certainly did not push us in to economic failure of this magnitude. CMBlake has another good link to illustrate this point as well.

I don’t know what the answers are – but – I do know one thing – if this continues – we won’t make it to the 2010 elections to change it. We’re on a path towards Fascism with Obama controlling every aspect of our lives. He is in the process of destroying capitalism and the greatest country in the world. If you didn’t click on that link for the article from Russia – I highly recommend you go back up there and read their dire warning. The politicians are in his pocket – Dems and Republicans. There are now reports out there that even the MSM is scared to oppose Obama – that’s why we don’t see any negative news coverage about Obama and that’s why the MSM will never ask him any hard questions.

Is it any wonder that Chavez had no problem walking up to Obama and giving him that “present?” Chavez recognizes Obama for who he is – a bird of a feather. Obama is doing the same thing Chavez did – But on a grander scale! Is it any wonder that Obama goes around the world and tells foreign leaders what a horrible country America is? Is it any wonder that Obama sides with the Palestineans over Israel? Does it surprise anybody at all that Obama now supports Iran obtaining nukes?  Does it surprise anybody that even today Obama stated to a muslim audience America is “one of the largest muslim countries in the world.”  WTF?  We are not a muslim country – we are a nation built on Christian principles with a Constitution upon which our laws are based – not freakin’ Sharia law. Irate Nate weighs in on this issue as well.

Elections have consequences – and – now we’re all suffering because of ignorance at the polls.
