Post on “stimulus” bill will be delayed – and – Blogroll Amnesty Day

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: BoBo, Uncategorized

Sorry, I know I promised to put it up today – but – I got behind.  I spent a lot more time at the NFL Experience today than I anticipated..and..you know how it goes..everything just trickles down from there.  I have a draft paper that is due this evening and I have a lot of submissions to read for the blog carnival.  I won’t be posting tomorrow (other than the carnival) as I am taking a Steeler Holiday to watch them trounce the Cardinals.  So – perhaps I can get it posted up Monday evening.  If anything, I may end up combining that analysis with the Senate version.

But, while I have your attention – I wanted to tell you about Blogroll Amnesty Day coming up on February 3, 2008.  I learned about it from Jon Swift.  From what I gather – it is a day for bloggers to help out other bloggers by adding each other to their blogrolls and to post backlinks in a discussion on that day.  The object is also to help get lesser known blogs a little attention.  As many of you know, I’m all about helping other bloggers, especially the smaller bloggers.  Regardless of our opinions – we’re all one big bloggin’ community.  Go check out Jon Swift’s post to learn more about it.  I hope you all participate!

Internet temporarily up?!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Weekend

Okay – I had actually planned on putting up a post today regarding the H.R. socialist “stimulus” bill that passed this week – but ran out of time at work. I’ve scoured the entire 647 pages and found that this bill has very little to do with stimulating the economy. Construction on my house is still going to be another 2 weeks (according to the contractor) so we had them wire the Internet back in to the temporary wall for now. I just spent the good part of 2 hours getting it all hooked up, getting the router working again, and spending time with my IP tech support and router tech support. Apparently, EVERYTHING completely reset over the past 2 weeks while I was unplugged and had to start it all up again.

So – since it’s getting late – rather than post up the findings tonight – I’ll post it tomorrow after I get back from taking the family to The NFL Experience – gonna meet some of the Stiller players and get some autographs. I’ll take the digital camera with me and post up some pictures Monday. Sunday will be spent watching the Stillers kick some Cardinal ass!

But – what I want to let you all know about is a new blog – TNMilitant.com – this is run by my good friend, Greg, from 454Monte.com.  He has decided to keep his politics out of his hobby by setting up this new blog.  I’m sure you all will quite enjoy it.  I was (am?) a contributor to his 454Monte.com blog – but, since I don’t know anything about cars – and I felt kinda odd posting up political stuff on that one – I really didn’t contribute much.  Hopefully, if he gets me added to this new one – I can add something worthwhile there as well.  I’ve added this new one to my blogroll .

Anyway – drop in and leave him some nuggets – I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.

Also, I wanted to let you all know about a new development over at U.S. Common Sense – he has developed a new Political Blog Weekly section to his blog (of which I am a contributor) that takes the best articles of the week from other contributing blogger and highlights them on his site.  Current contributors to his site (other than he and myself) are: The Right Wing and Phuck Politics.  If you’d like to be a contributor to his Political Blog Weekly you can let him know here.

And, finally – I need to mention the following blog that I just added to my blogroll – Conservatism Today.  I feel like a real idiot.  I’ve been on this guy’s blogroll for quite some time.  I get some visitors from him on occasion.  I just realized this evening that I didn’t have him on my blogroll – Sorry, Scott!  I guess better late than never.  So, Scott Martin has a really great collection of conservative related posts and discussions (like this one) as well as a really great blogroll of must visits.  I frequent his site – so – I don’t know how I possibly missed adding him.  Go pay him a visit and tell him I said howdy!

Make sure you stop on by again tomorrow – I’ll have a very detailed post on the House passed “stimulus” bill.

I had another post in mind to put up today regarding Obama and his moves towards socialism thus far – then I received this in my e-mail.  I’ll do the Obama post tomorrow.  In the meantime, in case you haven’t seen this or even heard about this testimony – this is a must see for all 2nd Amendment advocates and supporters out there.  She really understands what it’s about. This is why I love those Texans!!! Her very last statement says it all.

h/t to Jan (Thyra) for this.

A sign of things to come?

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Conservative, Democrats, Idiots, Liberals, Obama, Politics, President, Socialism, government

Okay – so I watched the inauguration today.  I really didn’t have any interest in watching the overblown and overpriced festivities – but – what the heck – I got a free lunch out of the deal!  While the festivities still continue today – I am most certainly glad this is over.  I’m hoping this Obamamania shit will start to cool down soon.  I wonder just how many idiots out there are buying all this so-called memorabilia?  Have you seen it?  A one dollar bill with a gold-leaf image of Obama painted on it – for $19.95.  A one dollar coin with Obama’s image silk-screened on it for $19.95.  Come on people – you’re spending $20.00 for $1.00!!!!  As a serious pneumismatist – I can tell you that those coins and bills will NEVER be worth the price you’re paying for them.  As a matter of fact, by painting on those coins and bills they are now forever “damaged” in the pneumismatist world.  They have no re-sell value.  Anyway, enough of that.

I think what got me the most during the inauguration was that once again he proved that he is a bumbler when it comes to speaking without a teleprompter – even when he was fed the words – he stumbled on the oath of office.  Not only did he stumble, so did his vice president.

In addition to his stumbling – the stock markets today fell 4% – below the 8,000 mark since November.  It is anticipated that it is going to continue to fall throughout the rest of the week.  If Obama is supposed to be so good for the economy and for business – then can someone please tell me why there is no confidence in the market?

I see both of these as omens of what is to come for this country.  Obama is trying to triangulate and move to the middle and in doing so – he’s already pissed off his far-left-loony followers.  But, his socialist tendencies to spread the wealth and his tax and spend policy is already affecting confidence in the business sector and he just started his job today.

Considering this is actually Clinton’s third term – well – all of the Clinton administration’s third term and the damage they caused this country – we will be in a full blown depression before Obama can finish out his first term.  If there is anything to learn from the Bush administration – it is you can’t spend your way out of a problem.  Bush started this bullshit wheel rolling with the damned bailouts – and now Obama will just continue pushing that wheel down the hill and taking this country down with him.

While I am not looking forward to the socialist Obama agenda – I am most certainly looking forward to breaking down every lame brained scheme he comes up with.  For, as I see it, he will be his own undoing come 2012.  Obama will be a one-term President with his socialist tendencies and with the worst Congress in history being led by the two worst house and senate leaders in history.

Bring it on, bub!

Meeting other bloggers!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Uncategorized

Well, while I’m out here chillin’ in Dallas – I have gotten the opportunity to meet yet another great blogger – Matt M of Matt-Speak.  What a great guy he is.  He took me to a local sports bar here where we had a chance to watch his Stars beat my Lightning – oh well – but the company and conversation were great.

I’ll be posting up something later today regarding this inauguration bullshit.  Don’t get me wrong – I understand the significance – but – I am getting so sick and tired of this Obamamania bullshit.  I can’t turn on a damned channel anywhere without seeing something about Obama Obama Obama.  Anyway – we’ll save the rest for another post.

The primary purpose here was to publicly thank Matt for taking time out to come meet me and for picking up the tab. I’m looking forward to catching up again.  The next one is on me! BTW – he’s changed his blog design if you haven’t been over there lately – go check it out.
