The BoBo Files is 1 Year Old Today!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: BoBo, Obama, President, Race, Racist

Yes – that’s right – today is my 1 year blogiversary – or whatever the hell you call it. This blog has accomplished quite a bit this year – more than I could ever have hoped for. That very first day that I started blogging – I really didn’t know what the hell I was doing – I was the epitome of a “noob.” I was just hoping somebody out there might find me. I have to admit – my first blog design was a piece of shit – you can see that here: http://thebobofiles.blogspot.com. Okay – now that you’ve seen it – you can stop laughing. I know – it was pretty ugly and it was all over the place.

Then – I met Holly from Menstrual Poetry. She actually put the basic design of this together and helped me migrate my posts and some of the comments. The design entirely done in html – so – I have creative license with everything (no widgets here). The sidebar design over there is mine. No comments please – I know I need to do a little work over there. I promise I will get to it and clean it up.

So – throughout this past year I have close to 51,000 visitors. That is almost 1,000 a week. I peaked at around 140 subscribers at one point. You’ll also notice that I have 37 mobile subscribers now as well. At one point I had my Alexa ranking down to 97,000. This past December and my classes really played hell on my activities – you’ll see my rank went back slightly above 130,000 again. But – I’m confident I’ll be bringing that down again. And – I got my PR up to 4! And – I realize you can’t make a living off this amount – but – I cleared just a little over $400 with all the different advertising methods that I have going on plus my BoBo Gear. Not bad considering I was blogging for about 3 months before someone told me I could make money doing this.

I have all of you to thank for the success this blog has achieved so far. Let’s hope we can grow this blog even more next year. I’m sure many of my lefty readers (and I do mean that in a nice cuddly manner) hope I don’t get any bigger at all! :)

Anyway – I thought it would be a real treat to bring back the very first post that I did. I only had 3 comments – and those were from friends that I told and they were more a welcome than actual comments on the contents! LOL. So – without further adieu – BoBo’s very first blog post:

The Real Minority in America – The White Man!

Okay..for the first post to my new blog..why don’t we just start off with a topic that is sure to start some discussion. First, to my Liberal friends, I AM NOT A RACIST, nor am I into that whole white supremacy thing (I thoroughly expect to get flamin’ hate mail on this topic!). This is a very simple observation. As I am aging, getting wiser, and greyer, my eyes are opening to the reality that in America, we white guys are the ones who are actually being discriminated against. We white guys are the one’s who are really in the minority. Hmm..okay..you want proof? Okay..for starters..do you remember that loony guy on those TV ads who used to run around in a pseudo-Riddler suit by the name of Matthew Lesko who promises that you can make money off the government? Check out his website for a reminder. He clearly states that everyone is eligible for free government money and that everyone qualifies. Okay..so I bought into his schtick and put out the $39.95 for his book. I just knew I was going to get rich off the government (hmmm..must have been in my liberal days). In any case, as I search through it, all I find is that if you are a white male, there are no government programs, grants, or loans available. Yet, if you are a minority (black, yellow, female, native Indian, illegal immigrant, legal immigrant, etc.) there are programs and grants galore! Okay..need more proof? The Institute for Higher Education issued a work plan in April 2007 for opening the doors of our colleges and universities to LEGAL immigrants. Essentially, they are eligible for grants and lower in-state tuitions just because they are NOT Americans..Check it out HERE.

It is also a well known fact that our Liberal Universities have “quotas” and affirmative action plans that state they have to accept a minimum number of minorities into their schools. What this means is that if there are already too many white guys, they are forced to accept a minority who may have lower SAT scores and a lower GPA coming out of high school with less community involvement than their white counterpart. Additionally, they will give that minority a scholarship to get them into the school. Recently there was a case heard in the Supreme Court regarding the The University of Michigan Law School in which their point system for giving minorities preference in admission was initially struck down as being unfair, but was later overturned. So, what this means in a nutshell is that minorities get preference when it comes to our educational system.

Okay..so the Liberal stanza for these injustices are: “What about slavery? We enslaved the blacks for 200 hundred years. They deserve it!”; “Do you remember the trail of tears? We forced the Cherokee Indians from their homes. And..we stole their land from them, and tricked them out of Manhattan.”..and blah blah blah; “Do you remember the Japanese interment camps during WWII? They deserve everything we can give them.”; “What about the Chinese? We forced them to lay our railroad tracks for peanuts. They were indentured servants!”; “What about Woman’s suffrage? We kept women barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen for generations! They’ve only been aloud to vote for the past 70 years!”..again..BLAH BLAH BLAH. For crying out loud!! That was over 200 freakin years ago? The Japanese interment camps happened over 70 years ago! When is enough enough? We white guys are now paying for the sins of our great great great grandfathers. Okay..I get the whole Tuskegee Syphilis Study thing and I admit that was a great blunder for public health and probably has a whole lot to do with the mistrust of the government and especially the white man in government. But, again, haven’t we already paid enough? Do we need to keep using taxpayer dollars to fund every little thing that the minorities ask for? Do we still need to make sure that minorities are given preferences in our higher education system, workforce, and whatever else they can think of?

I can’t even get a small business loan because I “make too much money” or I “have too many assets.” Yet, my African-American brother down the street had no problem at all and we live in the same freakin’ neighborhood. Believe me, he’s probably pulling in the same cheddar that I am! America has come a long way in 200+ years. We may not yet have achieved MLK’s Dream, but we sure have come a long way! Who would have thought 40 years ago that we would have a Black man on the verge of becoming the President of the United States? I say, more power to him if he can actually pull it off. If he does become the President, is this all of the minorities in this country sending a signal? Is this their way of sticking it to the white man?

Dems trying to get around The Second Amendment

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, Civil Rights, Congress, Constitution, Democrats, Elections, Liberals, Mexicans, Obama, Politics, President, Second Amendment, Texas, US Constitution, government

Okay people – buckle up! It looks like the Dems have now decided that since they can’t ban your guns – they will go around the Second Amendment and make it impossible for you to actually use your gun!

First up – h/t to Becky Blanton for this one – The next assault on your rights is called The Ammunition Accountablity Act.  The purpose of this bill is to make it impossible for you to buy ammunition for your guns.  It seeks to have all ammunition encoded for the purpose of keeping track of sales of all ammunition.  This way they can keep track of what type of ammunition (caliber) and the amount.

  1. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition has been encoded
  2. If you own any un-encoded ammunition – you will have to destroy that by July 1, 2011 otherwise it becomes a Federal offense to own un-encoded ammunition.  This also includes hand-loaded ammunition for those of you that like to make your own.
  3. And – lastly – it includes a $0.05 tax per round – not per box – per round.

Next up – H.R. 45 – This is legislation that was introduced by Bobby Rush – Congressman from Illinois – you know this guy – he’s the ex-con Black Panther that said the vacated Obama seat has to go to an African American – yes – that racist asshole.  Ironic that he would introduce anti-gun legislation considering he lived by the gun as a criminal gangsta.

The most disconcerting part of this bill is that it would require you to turn over your medical records to be able to purchase a gun.  Here’s what’s in that bill – h/t to Stop The ACLU for pulling it together:

  1. Section 102 (a) (1) a current, passport-sized photograph of the applicant that provides a clear, accurate likeness of the applicant;
  2. Section 102 (a) (8) an authorization by the applicant to release to the Attorney General or an authorized representative of the Attorney General any mental health records pertaining to the applicant; (that sounds rather intrusive)
  3. Section 103 (c) looks to be creating a federal firearms card, with your picture and information. This from the Party that goes ballistic over a national ID card.
  4. Section 104 makes it seem as if all renewals go through the AG of the USA. Does this mean that I have to go to a Federal office to reapply, rather then the Wake Country Sheriff’s office?

Notice how all of this goes through the Attorney General of the USA – you know – that other racist anti-gun Eric Holder.  What do you think the chances are that anyone would be able to purchase a gun while he’s the AG and has total control over the process?

And – some related stories from Texas Fred that will just make your head explode!

As drug violence escalates, Americans in Mexico warned – or as Fred puts it – AG Eric Holder uses LIES in effort to reinstate automatic weapons ban.

and

Mexico AG: 1,000 killed in drug violence so far in ’09 - the implication here is that Mexico is now blaming the U.S. for supplying guns to the Cartels.  Do you think he and Eric Holder have been talking to each other?

and – when you’re done here – go check out The Liberty Sphere Second Amendment Round-up.  A lot more examples of other bloggers out there posting up various stories related to this assault on the Second Amendment.  Make sure you have plenty of duct tape available.

Is Obama a “natural born citizen” of the United States? – Part 3

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Congress, Constitution, Elections, Freedom, Obama, Politics, President, Soldiers, US Constitution, government, war on terror

That is still one of the number one search questions that bring people to my blog. Sure, you guys on the left might be saying I’m stilling beating an old drum – but – this is still very much a burning question and everyone wants an answer. Sure – you guys keep falling back stating the Republican Governor of Hawaii said she saw and verified there is “a birth certificate” on record.

But – what has not been released or verified is his actual vaulted copy of the original certificate of birth. For those of you that have not read my previous post on this issue – Hawaii has two different types of birth certificates – A Certificate of Live Birth and A Certificate of Birth. A Certificate of Birth is the one that is issued when an individual is actually born in Hawaii. A Certificate of Live Birth is one that anyone born anywhere can have issued to them from Hawaii. The latter indicates the actual origin of birth. So – this makes the Governor’s statement very vague and does not answer the burning question.

So – what is it that has prompted me to bring this issue to the forefront again? LOTS!!!!

First – two separate but related stories….A 1LT Scott R. Easterling, active duty Army currently stationed in Iraq has joined a lawsuit filed by Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq that challenges Obama to verify his origin of birth by releasing his vaulted Certificate of Birth issued from Hawaii at the time of his alleged birth IN Hawaii. In his exact words:

As a citizen, it pains me to do this, but as an Offficer, my sworn oath to support and defend our Constitution requires this action.

You can follow the link up there to see his actual letter.  He is so absolutely dead on with that statement. We service members take an oath that says we will “protect the Constitution of United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Domestic is the key word here. He is following through on his sworn oath to defend our constitution against a potential domestic enemy. How can I call Obama an enemy? Well, if he has usurped our constitution and is found to not be an actual U.S. citizen – then he is an enemy to the state as he has assumed the top leadership position in this country under false pretenses and has done so willfully.

Next – a second story came out today – Another U.S. soldier has thrown his hat into the ring and joined the Orly Taitz lawsuit.  His name remains unidentified at this time, but will be revealed once enjoined to the motion.  He doesn’t want any undue publicity at this time.  In his exact words – and this should make so much sense to anyone:

“When I enlisted last year I had to show my birth certificate, as well as my driver’s license, high school diploma, college transcripts, social security card; I also filled out loads of paperwork to include listing the names, addresses and phone numbers of my family members and had to answer any questions regarding foreign travel.

“I think it is reasonable for Obama to prove his citizenship status thus certifying his eligibility. I too raised my right hand and swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States,”

Right on!  So – why hasn’t Obama gone through the same scrutiny for the highest position in this country?  No – you guys on the left are absolutely wrong.  He was not vetted.  That is part of the argument in the Taitz lawsuit.  He also names Congress and the Electoral College in this lawsuit because they are constitutionally bound to verify a candidate’s eligibility.  They never actually viewed Obama’s birth certificate either.

Lastly – if you think this is all just payback – you are sooooooo wrong.  There are a LOT of people out there concerned about his eligibility that also includes other elected officials from both parties at multiple levels of government.  Here is a short list of all those lawsuits that are currently in motion and unresolved (the majority of those dismissed were done so at a judicial level only with no actual review of evidence):

  • New Jersey attorney Mario Apuzzo has filed a case on behalf of Charles Kerchner and others alleging Congress didn’t properly ascertain that Obama is qualified to hold the office of president.
  • Pennsylvania Democrat Philip Berg has three cases pending, including Berg vs. Obama in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a separate Berg vs. Obama which is under seal at the U.S. District Court level and Hollister vs. Soetoro a/k/a Obama, brought on behalf of a retired military member who could be facing recall to active duty by Obama.
  • Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.
  • Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut’s secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.
  • Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state’s 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public’s support.
  • Chicago attorney Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama’s vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.
  • Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama’s eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama’s citizenship. His case was denied.
  • In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.
  • In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama’s citizenship. The case was denied.
  • In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama’s birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia’s secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.
  • California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters.
  • In Texas, Brockhausen vs. Andrade.
  • In Washington, L. Charles Cohen vs. Obama.

Obama is in for a very bumpy ride. Just one burning question – if he REALLY is a U.S. Citizen and REALLY was born in Hawaii – why won’t he release the vault copy of his birth certificate and just get this thing over? What is he hiding? The majority of those cases were thrown out stating those individuals had no legal “standing.”

Well – Orly Taitz and the two U.S. soldiers certainly have standing.  If a member of the U.S. military is to take orders from the President as the Commander-In-Chief they certainly need to know whether or not those are lawful orders.

If he can have his public records sealed – does this mean that I can have all of my public records sealed as well? Birth Certificate, Mortgage Records, DMV records, etc? I also want to know under what authority he had his PUBLIC records sealed! Him being a Presidential candidate and now the President is not authority to hide public records from the public.

An American Fairytale – A Tale of Warning – And of Hope

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Conservative, Democrats, Entertainment, Family, Fascism, Freedom, Liberals, Middle-class, Obama, Politics, President, Republicans, Socialism, Taxes, US Constitution, blogs, communism, government, marxism, video

Well – here I sit listening to the crap that Obama is spewing tonight.  Hs speech is so disingenuous it’s not even funny.  Sure, in one breath he says the recovery of this economy requires action and not to look back at other administrations, then in the other breath he blames only Republican administration era policies for the problems.  When he was talking about how we got to this mess – he talked about energy independence – but – never once brought up drilling for oil – he’s implying green energy only…nor did he bring up the failed Clinton policy allowing (forcing) banks to give loans to people without first verifying income, identity, employment, or the ability to pay. When he’s talking about helping responsible homeowners – he’s talking about allowing those who are upside down on their mortgage refinance on my dime even if they’re not struggling to pay their bills.  How the hell is that even fiscally responsible?

In the meantime – I received an e-mail from one of my commentors – Robert Foster – with a link to a youtube video that he created.  It is titled An American Fairytale – A Tale of Warning – And of Hope.  It is his illustration of a narration by Glenn Beck of a story written by a Dr. John Rossi.  When I first heard this narration back in November on the radio it really struck a nerve with me.  It touched me and it has been with me for a while.  I am so glad that Robert found this blog and shared that video with me.  It is now my turn to share it with all of you.  If you like it – please either link back here to it – or – steal it for yourselves and post it up.

Watching this while listening to the Obamessiah really sends this message home. I would also greatly appreciate it if everyone would “buzz it”, stumble & digg it (through my “share this” link), and vote on it using the “vote” button on the bottom right so that we can get this thing out there to everyone. Enjoy!

Hey! Obama – It is YOUR fault now!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Congress, Conservative, Democrats, Duh, Elections, Idiots, Liberals, Obama, Politics, President, Socialism, blogs, government
Duuhh! What now Rahm? Duh hur!

Okay – seriously Mr. Obamessiah – are you really going to blame everything that goes wrong during your administration on President Bush? For your information – from the point you signed this massive spending bill in to law – everything that happens is NOW YOUR FAULT!

If you and those other idiotic Dems would quit threatening to nationalize the banks, quit threatening to nationalize health care, and quit talking down the economy with all your damned doom-and-gloom rhetoric we wouldn’t keep seeing the market tank every freakin’ day like it did today.

EVERY THING you say has an impact on the markets. EVERY THING you do has an impact on the markets and the economy. There is a real psychological effect not only on the markets but also on main street when you keep telling us we are headed for the worst depression since the Great Depression. There is absolutely no consumer confidence and the investors have no confidence in the markets now because you keep opening your pie hole to tell everyone how bad it is out there. We’re all hunkering down now and we’ve stopped spending and we’re keeping our money to ourselves now to try to weather the storm that you are predicting.

EVERY THING that happens now is as a direct result of your actions whether it be positive or negative. YOU signed that stupid assed spending bill in to law and now you and the dems own it. Quit trying to push your ignorant decisions on to the previous administration. Sure – Bush opened that door to let socialism in – BUT you jumped right in both feet first. I guess this is the responsibility you are talking about? Passing the blame for your ignorance on others?!? Great role model there big guy!

Your lack of experience is showing!

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – February 22, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, BoBo, Carnival, Civil Rights, Congress, Conservative, Constitution, Democrats, Family, Freedom, Idiots, Liberals, Media Bias, Middle-class, Obama, Pelosi, Politics, President, Public School System, Republicans, Socialism, Taxes, blogs, government, libertarian

Once again this week – we have a lot of great selections and submissions to choose from.  I just wanted to thank all of you who continue to support this carnival with your submissions and also thanks to all of you who continue to come and read them.  Thanks.

Conservative

Rich Bordner presents Sooo, This is Change we can Believe In? « The Pugnacious Irishman posted at The Pugnacious Irishman, saying, “In this post I comment on Obama’s pushing of the stimulus bill. Nothing fancy, just old school thought applied to the current scene.”

I like the way you think Rich.  We wouldn’t be in this mess if people just used common sense like that.  If we lived our personal lives like the government does – we’d all have been in the poor house a long time ago.  You might want to add – if you can’t pay for it in cash – you can’t afford it.

Cmblake6 presents Qur’an Challenge posted at Cmblake6′s Weblog.

There is a great video up at Chris’s place – you gotta see this yourself.

John Kaduk presents Be Like Sweden! posted at The Right Wing.

John – when I read this earlier in the week – I was hoping you would submit this.  I checked my blog carnival before I left a comment.  Let’s just hope we don’t actually go down that European road – as we can all see – their way doesn’t work either.

Selkirk presents Can We Foreclose on the White House? posted at Political Castaway Blog: Broadcasting Conservatism to Rescue America.

I know I certainly would like to at this point!  Excellent discussion regarding the “mortgage bailout.”  Just FYI – did you know that this bill also has a provision to incentivise mortgage lenders?  You know – the same provisions that caused this mess in the first place?  The bill states that a mortgage lender that provides a loan under this stimulus plan will get $1,000 for every loan completed.  Hmm…how does that do anything but provide incentive for predatory lenders again?

Selkirk presents We Are On The Verge of Revolution Again posted at Political Castaway Blog: Broadcasting Conservatism to Rescue America.

I think so too!  In fact, I’m willing to join in that revolution myself.  I think the final spark to light the flame is when they attempt to take away our 2nd Amendment rights.  The founders specifically put that right in there for the people to protect themselves from a tyrannical government – which it appears we are headed in that direction.  You have provided many examples of catalysts – its not going to take much more if you ask me.

Democrats

Evan Pfaff presents President’s Day Edition: What Can you Gain From Playing Rec Sports? posted at Who’s In First Blog, saying, “Having a good hoops game helped Arne Duncan secure a spot in President Obama’cabinet.”

Very interesting story there Evan.  By that standard I should seek out a cabinet position as well.  But, what I see missing is whether or not this guy actually has a background in education.  What kind of jobs did he hold before being named to Secretary of Education?  Has he ever worked in the education field?  If not, that’s just plain crazy.  May as well put American education in last around the globe.

Lance Cooper presents Obama?s Stimulus Plan Is A Complete Joke posted at Recession Thoughts, saying, “The presidnet’s stimulus plan is nothing more than government waste, and government waste will not ‘pump prime’ the economy into recovery.”

A most excellent look at the stimulus plan and what we can look forward to.  I like your suggestions for real recovery.  I would have to agree – the plan that was passed is not only a complete joke – but absolutely dangerous for this country. Good one Lance.  Come back again, ya hear!

Silicon Valley Blogger presents Obama?s Foreclosure Bailout Plan: Should There Be Help For Homeowners? posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “Thanks!”

NP!  You’re welcome. My answer is – nope – we shouldn’t be bailing out homeowners.  As you pointed out in your discussion – 90% of homeowners have played by the rules and are not in foreclosure and we pay our bills on a monthly basis.  Why should the majority bail out the minority that were irresponsible?  That is socialism at its best.

The Smarter Wallet presents Will The Obama Economic Stimulus Check and 2009 Stimulus Plan Save The Economy? posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “Thanks!”

NP! You’re welcome. Thanks for the brief history on the beginning of “stimulus.”  However, I don’t see 13$/week stimulating the economy at all.  It is such a small amount that it won’t be a noticeable difference and you can’t really buy anything with that.  Given the fact that inflation is on the rise – by the time this year ends – that $13 will be completely wiped out.  As for the other “two bird with one stone” provisions you mentioned – sure – fixing the infrastructure is a good idea – but – as you also pointed out – there are very few “shovel ready” projects and this money does nothing to stimulate the economy immediately.

Great post.

Liberal

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Ode To Roland Burris posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Once again I find myself agreeing with you.  Another rare moment, but – I would think that everyone on both sides of the aisle sees the need to make sure this guy resigns.

KP Silverman presents Stimulating Thoughts posted at Kpsilverman’s Weblog, saying, “common sense for the new millenium”

Hi KP – welcome to the Carnival.  There are several areas in your discussion that I an agree with – mostly that allowing Pelosi and Reid – the most far left leaning politicians in D.C. to handle the stimulus bill was by far the biggest mistake that Obama made regarding this bill.  However, might I suggest you actually read this bill yourself?  You can see it at recovery.org or at readthestimulus.org.  You will see that this truly is a pork filled bill and every American in this country should be screaming about it.  The CBO – which is a Democrat majority – has said this bill in its current form will damage this country immensely to the point of no return.  There is more pork in this bill than there is stimulus.  And..yes..Pelosi did actually try to push contraception and STD prevention in this bill.

If you are a true liberal that values privacy and human rights – you should be outraged by this bill.  If you thought Bush and the Patriot Act was “Big Brother” then this bill should outright scare the bejeezus out of you.  The government will now have full access to your entire medical history and your financial information and you can’t stop them. The biggest problem -as you mentioned – is that the media failed us all.  Rather than report in an un-biased fashion and examine just what was in the bill – they were complicit in trying to divert our attentions elsewhere.

Also – you can’t blame this economic mess on “the last eight years” under Bush.  We are in this mess because of both parties over decades of government interference in private business.  The last 8 years didn’t help much with inflating government.  But – this bill has now added 32 NEW government departments and increases the size of government more than the last 8 years – and all done in one fail swoop.

Additionally – this is not the largest tax cut in history.  I have provided links on this blog in the past.  The combined 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts are in fact the largest in history.  While Obama’s tax cuts will put $13/week back in your paycheck – the Bush tax cuts put back $90/week.

I like a lot of what you had to say there – but – some of it you just stuck to the Democrat party line.  You need to look beyond your party line and read things for yourself.  This is a stinker of a bill and it is going to hurt us all.

Libertarian

DWSUWF presents Obama Embraces the Bush/Cheney Unitary Executive. Again and again and again. posted at Divided We Stand United We Fall, saying, “Why do so many on the left greet Obama’s support and active defense of the Bush/Cheney model of the unitary executive with a yawn? It is not the principle of checks, balances and constitutional protections that inform their view of the world. For some (many?) on the left, it is about blind loyalty to a leader and a party. From their perspective, Bush/Cheney executive power is not a problem if Obama is in the White House. Apparently, with the ring of power in Barack Obama’s benevolent hands, the Bush/Cheney executive power will only be used for good. Just put your trust in Barack -not in the rule of law – not in the Constitution – but in the man.”

Good one DWSUWF – I have nothing further to add here.

Miscellaneous

nickel presents $8,000 Homebuyer Tax Credit posted at fivecentnickel.com.

Thanks for this update Nickel.  I’m sure it will be helpful for those considering looking to buy a home in the next few months.

News

Len Penzo presents I’m Just Askin’: Why Bother Being Fiscally Responsible Anymore? posted at Len Penzo . Com, saying, “President Obama’s $75B “rescue plan” for those who are in danger of losing their home is one more reason why it no longer pays to be fiscally responsible. Long live the People’s Democratic Republic of the United States!”

Bwahahaha!  Good one, Len.  Seriously, if Obama really wants to suggest everyone should live within their means – how can he possibly think that by allowin

g people to take out loans under this plan equaling 105% of their home value as living within their means?  Isn’t this the kind of irresponsible activity that caused this mess in the first place.  You must have liked Rick Santelli’s rant also then! I too would like the answers to your 6 questions.

Abhishek presents The Changing face of Public Opinion and its neutrality posted at Celebrate Technology…, saying, “Public and mass opinion and how it has changed in the current era of user generated content (web 2.0) as compared with the traditional strongholds of mass media including news corporations, TV, newspaper, magazines, rallies, Political gatherings etc…”

Howdy Abhishek – welcome to the Carnival.  Great post regarding the “new media.”  Of importance regarding today’s technology – Obama was able to manipulate and utilize all the new media to his advantage during this last election.  I’m in agreement with you that the Internet will be the dominating means for guaging and changing public opinion in years to come, moreso than regular TV news and print media.

C.G. Salgado presents Puerto Rico Statehood: To Be or Not To Be? posted at Inside Government.

An inside look at the history of Puerto Rico and what is behind the reasoning that they have not yet become a state of our union.  This is a very interesting read C.G.  While it has crossed my mind occasionally, I have never actually pursued looking for the answer.

Politics

Aetius Romulous presents The Hunt For The Guilty posted at ScreamBucket.

Welcome to the Carnival Aetius – While I certainly subscribe to the underlying idea here – personal responsibility – there is definitely plenty of blame to go around between Wall Street, large corporations, and government interference – I don’t think all the blame should be placed on those of us who want success and expect to keep what we earned, provided we took all precautions to do what was right and earned our successes honestly.

Riversider presents 85 Ways To Build Community posted at Broadgate Is Great, saying, “85 ways ordinary people can make their communities better places to live, without spending lots of money.”

Well – given the fact that this bill is going to damage our economy further – all we will have left is our communities, friends, and families to turn to.  These are good suggestions – I’ll let this stay!

Jason Zuckerman presents Stimulating Art Stimulates the Economy posted at Jay Zuck’s Sketch of the Day, saying, “I argue in this blog post that the funding of the arts has a direct stimulative effect on the economy and thus it was an integral part of the stimulus bill and not as some contended, pork-barrel spending.”

Hi Jason – sure – I can buy your argument here – however, I might point out that ALL of your information came from the NEA which is a direct beneficiary of the bill.  Do you think it’s possible that there is some bias there and that perhaps they did not report all the facts?  Where has all their past monies actually gone?  Have you as an artist actually benefited in anyway from the NEA? Just saying.

Republicans

Wenchypoo presents The Pelosi-tariat and the Totalitarian Temptation posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

Welcome back Wenchypoo!  An excellent dissertation on Stretch Pelosi.  Unfortunately, it seems we on the right were the only one’s who saw this coming.  It certainly appears she is directing this country right now even more than Obama.  After all, this spending bill got pushed through in a rush to fit HER schedule – even over Obama’s own schedule.  I just hope to God that come 2010 we get a Republican majority again and get her out of that seat.
