A little weekend humor!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Funnies, Humor, Obama, Pelosi, Politics, Weekend

After the past week we’ve had with Kim Dong Mentally Ill firing off missiles and testing nukes, Teh One nominating a racist to the SCOTUS, the U.S. citizens becoming 72% owners of yet another auto company, finding out the country is ACTUALLY $64 Trillion in debt, and the economy continuing to tank – I figured I would post up some politically related humorous items that friends have sent me over the past week.  Enjoy

Pinocchio, Snow White and Superman are out for a stroll in town one day…….
As they walk, they come across a sign:
“Beauty contest for the most beautiful woman in the world.”

“I am entering!” said Snow White.
After half an hour she comes out and they ask her, “Well, how’d you do?”
” First Place !,” said Snow White.

They continue walking and they see a sign:
“Contest for the strongest man in the world.”

“I’m entering,” says Superman.
After half an hour, he returns and they ask him, “How did you make out?”
” First Place ,” answers Superman. “Did you ever doubt?”

They continue walking when they see a sign:
“Contest! Who is the greatest liar in the world?”
“I’m entering,” says Pinocchio. After half an hour he returns with tears in his eyes.
“What happened?” they asked.
“Who the hell is Nancy Pelosi?” asked Pinocchio.

While this is a pretty humorous flyer – click on the image – it will take you to a serious article by Texas Fred regarding Teh One’s missing birth certificate.  Apparently, the rest of the country is starting to wake up and question it – wondering why the MSM didn’t vet the Obamessiah the way the should have.  Wondering why we still haven’t seen his birth certificate, his Indonesian passport, and his school transcripts.  Perhaps the MSM might actually start doing some investigative journalism again.  There are still too many unanswered questions about Barry Sotero!

A man is sitting in a bar far from home when Barack Obama comes on TV.
The man looks at the TV and says, “Obama is a horse’s ass.”

Out of nowhere, a local jumps up and punches him in the face, knocking the first guy off his bar stool, then stomps out.

He gets up, rubbing his cheek and orders another beer.
Shortly after, Michelle Obama appears on the TV. He looks at the TV and says, “She is a horse’s ass too!”

Out of nowhere, another local punches him on the other side of the face, knocking him off his bar stool again.

He gets back up and looks at the bartender, “I take it this is Obama country?”

“Nope.” replies the bartender, “Horse country.”

Tired of cable TV? Time to switch to satellite!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Uncategorized

This post is brought to you from Direct TV.  I have been a DirectSatTV.com customer for the last six years and have been very satisfied with the service and their customer service.  We have three regular converters in three rooms, an HD converter in our bedroom, and an HD DVR in our living room.  We switched from regular cable TV to DirectSatTV.com because we found that we get MANY more channels and options for the same price as cable.  Much more than we ever expected.  In addition, we have Movies on Demand – the same movies that are in the theater and new releases.  We don’t need to go to the video store any longer – and they’re cheaper.

One of the features that we liked about DirectSatTV.com is the fact that when we do decided to move to another home, we don’t have to do anything regarding our converters and satellite.  All we will need to do is to call Direct TV and let them know we are moving and where we are moving to.  As soon as we move in to the new house they will deliver the converters and set up a new satellite at no cost.  Our service will continue without interruption.  Can’t say that about the cable providers!

If you are one of my readers here in Florida – click here for Direct TV in Florida.  Don’t worry – I’m not leaving my other readers out located elsewhere – you can follow these links for your states:

Direct TV in California

Direct TV in New York

Direct TV in Texas

So – If you’ve thought about satellite TV before but wasn’t sure – check out the links in this post and browse around.  There is a “quick quote” button there.  If that doesn’t help ya – give them a call and find out for yourself.  There are always great deals going on.  In fact, as a loyal customer, I received a notice in the mail last month – I now have Showtime for a full year free of charge.  I can’t say that I ever received such a deal from the cable companies I had over the last 25 years prior to switching to DirecTV.

Not ALL great minds should think alike!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Civil Rights, Congress, Conservative, Constitution, Democrats, Freedom, Liberals, Politics, Republicans, Socialism, US Constitution, government, libertarian

I’m not really sure what prompted this post today – but – nonetheless, it came to mind.  I’m sure all of us at one time or another have either said to someone else, or have had it said to them, “Great minds think alike.”  I’m not entirely sure that is applicable in today’s society and American culture.  I’ve been following Divided We Stand, United We Fall for quite some time now – he contributes to The BoBo Carnival of Politics frequently.

The premise of his blog is that we should keep the Federal government divided.  We should in no way ever allow a supermajority in the government as it will cause this great nation to fall, and fail.  No time like now has this ever been proven to be more correct.

Getting back to the original topic – if all “great” minds were to think alike we would never get anywhere, innovation would be stifled, and this country would not be as great as it is.  Think about it, what do you think would happen if everyone always agreed with everything?  There would never be discussion or debate about anything at all.  Sometimes, we might all reach an agreement on a subject that could be successful for all those involved.  However, the downside to everyone agreeing on a subject could just as well have negative consequences for all – i.e., cap-and-trade and global warming.

If the debate on global warming truly was over as Al Gorebecile would have us believe the thousands of scientists that were previously shunned wouldn’t be coming out now and providing all the evidence and proof that man-made global warming is nothing more than a hoax to advance the socialist agenda and to take American independence and freedom from us.

What I’m getting at is that the two-party system that has evolved in politics has now gotten to the point where no matter which party is in control – they are all thinking the same.  Our elected politicians no longer have the needs of America as their first priority.  The only thing that both the Democrats and Republicans care about is their own power and getting re-elected.  They will say and do anything and make all “promises” just to be re-elected so they can get their cushy jobs.

Both parties started off with opposing views and each had their constituents’ best interests in mind hundreds of years ago.  But, hundreds of years ago when this country was in its infancy Democrats were closer more libertarian and the Republicans were just a fraction to the left of them, but, still very much libertarian as far as what the government’s role was.  In fact, our country and its founding documents were based on “liberalism,” hence the term Liberty.  Conservatism, in the early founding of this country, referred primarily to conserving or protecting our culture, property rights, and economic liberties.

Today’s true conservatives and much of the libertarian point of view are closer to those of classic liberals – you know – our founding fathers.  Liberalism was hijacked by the progressives at the turn of the century in the early 1900′s right around World War I.  The Democrats and their general liberal positions were taken over by the radicals of the party.  As the Democrats were losing their true classic liberalism positions to the radical progressives, the Republicans began to adopt the position of the classic liberals and social conservatives at that same time, the birth of modern conservatism.

In my opinion, Ronald Reagan was our last true conservative President.  The only other political figure that remains what I consider to be a true conservative is Newt Gingrich.  (Don’t get me wrong, this is not a plug for Newt). All other politicians who identify themselves as Republicans have moved so far to the left that they may as well call themselves Liberal Democrats.  Essentially, our two-party system has evolved in to a one-party system of socialists that no longer care about America.  They all think alike now.

If you are either a Republican or a Democrat and you have found that your party no longer represents your values – the best solution now is to become an independent.  Many of my Democrat friends here in Florida are very much social and fiscal conservatives and have become disillusioned with their party.  Yet, they continue to vote down the party line because “all good Democrats never vote for a Republican.”  Conversely, many of my Republican friends here have become disillusioned with their party because the Republicans have abandoned their conservative principles.  They too vote down party lines because “We can’t let the Democrats have a majority.”  Theirs is more a vote out of fear.

The solution is to shed the parties and vote as an Independent or find one of the “third-parties” out their that is actually closer to your own values.  The Democrats and the Republicans are both taking America down the same path of destruction and none of them have a backbone any longer.  The two-party system is corrupt.  Regardless of which party may be in control – their votes are controlled by special interest groups.  Our representatives no longer represent the people of this country – they represent whoever gives them the most for their re-election campaigns.

It’s time for we regular everyday Joe Schmoe Americans to rise up and let D.C., local, and state politicians know that we want our country back.  If our votes don’t matter to them any longer they will no longer have our financial support either.  We will show them with our votes at the ballot box and we’ll reject everything they stand for.  We need to make them fear us.  They no longer fear losing their jobs.  Our system of government was not set up to have career politicians.  Those progressives amended our constitution to allow career positions and took the power from the States to be able to recall those Senators and Representatives.

We do have voices and we need to make those voices heard.  We need to put our constitution back in its place and restore State’s rights and the right for the people to recall their representatives back and hold elections to replace those who are not representing us.  The best way to do this at this point is to hold a constitutional convention.  We need to urge our Governors to join with the Governors of other states to hold such a convention.  We only need 2/3d of the states to implement a constitutional convention.  We don’t need the Senators & Representatives in D.C. to amend the Constitution.  We know there is no way in hell Congress would ever vote in term limits, restore state’s rights, or eliminate those freebie life-long benefits they have voted in for themselves.

I’m sure there are many on the ‘left’ who feel the government has overstepped its boundaries.  While we might not agree on exactly the “whats” what we do agree on is that government has gotten too big and too powerful.  It’s okay for us to disagree – that is what makes this country great.  I urge you to contact your governors as well.  Let’s reset this thing and put those in D.C. back in their places – as servants to the people.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – May 24, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, BoBo, Carnival, Congress, Conservative, Constitution, Democrats, Freedom, Global warmongering, Harry Reid, Liberals, Obama, Pelosi, Politics, President, Socialism, Soldiers, Troops, US Constitution, government, veterans

Hi all – sorry for the delay once again.  As it turns out – this was Stars Wars Weekend at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Formerly MGM).  As the geek that I am, I couldn’t resist taking my family over there this weekend.  Given that I finally finished my semester and got all the exams out of the way as well as the papers, I just couldn’t find myself bringing the ‘puter along this weekend.

Yes, I left the date as yesterday – don’t want to throw the carnival off.  Anyway – before we get in to this past week’s submissions, today is Memorial Day.  Today is a day of remembrance and of thanks.  Today we should all take a little time out to remember what makes this country great and the sacrifices made of all the soldiers before us that gave their lives for FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY in defense of the American way.  We are the greatest country in the world despite what the Obamessiah and the O-bots are trying to do to us.  We will overcome the attempts by our socialist leaders to bring us down.  One thing to remember today is that when Americans (we the regular citizens of this country) have our backs up against the wall – we fight back.  We haven’t forgotten what we believe in and we will do what we need to keep our liberties and to ensure that our children and grandchildren can have the save liberties and freedoms that we enjoyed.

Let us not forget the unnecessary death of thousands of lives on 9/11.  Let them not die in vain.  It seems that many in this country have returned to a 9/10 mentality.  Keep their memories alive on this day as well.  Let us remember our history and all that has made this country great and let us not forget it.  For, if we forget it, the Obama sheeple will have won.

Finally, if you see a servicemember, not only today, but on any given day, please be sure to tell them thanks.  They are today’s defenders of freedom.  The need to hear they have the hearts and thanks of regular citizens.  They never hear the truth in the media – which often times is their only link to the outside world – especially for those on deployment.

With having said all that – Welcome to the Carnival!  There were not very many submissions this past week – but – the ones whe did get are all great.  Make sure you visit the contributors and let them know what you think.

Conservative

John Kaduk presents CAFE Kills posted at The Right Wing.

John – what are you doing?  You’re actually using facts, man!  Don’t you know that facts and truth don’t mean anything these days?  This post goes along with the one submitted by Steve Farber down there.  Make sure you check his out.  I’m sure you’ll have some comments for him.  Yours is a factually based response to his emotionally based support of the CAFE standards.  It seems to me he supports them to help reduce carbon emissions and get people of out their cars – or – maybe – I just totally misread him.

Silicon Valley Blogger presents How To Kill Your Credit Instantly With Mortgage Fraud And Subprime Borrowing posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “I wanted to spotlight how mortgage fraud has impacted our nation.”

I would say that you accomplished that with this post.  I think your pointers are good info for the uninformed and vulnerable.  However, I still have no sympathy for boneheads who got in to homes they knew they could not afford.  They should lose them.  For those who are thinking about buying homes – this post is helpful.  Also, I would hope anyone buying a home now would absolutely have to go through the entire vetting process – verification of employment, verification of income, verification of identity, and a minimum 20% down payment. I’m sure if this process was still in place, that family you mentioned would not have had $100,000 to put down and never would have found themselves in that predicament.

The Smarter Wallet presents How A Swine Flu Pandemic Affects Our Economy posted at The Smarter Wallet, saying, “What could happen if a pandemic hits? How will it affect our nation?”

You should also look at the economy during the 1918 pandemic.  You’ll see that this does indeed affect our economy.  This epidemic is not anywhere near done.  Being a public health scholar at this time, I can tell you that with a mortality rate of 1,000 people – this means there are at least 100,000 that have been infected.  This will be a full-blown pandemic within the next 6 months.  Otherwise – I think you are spot on with your assessment.

Liberal

Madeleine Begun Kane presents The “We Did Nothing Wrong, & Nancy Should Have Stopped Us” Song posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Actually, this is pretty good.  I realize this is supposed to be sarcasm – but – your words actually ring true whether you really meant it or not.  We don’t torture and we did not torture.  Sorry – but – waterboarding is not torture no matter what you guys on the left think.  It doesn’t even come close to the definition.  But, given the fact you guys on the left actually believes it is – then surely, Pelosi should also be your enemy now as she knew every step of the way.  She is a liar and needs to step down.

Miscellaneous

C. E. Dowalt presents The Rape of Chrysler and the New Progressive Mafia posted at Money Confidential.

C.E. – great post.  I’ve been searching for the right term – and now I have it – The New Progressive Mafia.  You have done an excellent job of defining it using real-world examples.  We’re gonna have to put those crime bosses in Washington out of business ourselves.  They don’t believe in the sanctity of contracts – what more do we need as proof this madness will just continue?

News

Wenchypoo presents The Protectionist Plastic Police posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

When I first heard about this proposal – I wasn’t sure how I felt about it.  However, the more I learned about it – the more I began to hate it.  Those guys on the left will say we on the right only want to protect this big corporations.  What they don’t understand is that this new bill undermines our constitutionally protected rights to enter in to contracts.  Again, as you so rightly pointed out, this is the Obamessiah coming to the rescue of those idiots that don’t want to take responsibility for  their own actions.  Anybody who gets a credit card without reading the contract is an idiot and doesn’t deserve a credit card.

This law needs to be repealed.  It is a direct assault on the constitution and once again keeps people from learning how to be responsible with their money.  Those fees and increased interest rates were punishment.  Where I grew up – if you broke the rules – you got punished.  You deserved to be punished and you took the punishment knowing exactly why.

The best way to avoid punishment is to not break the rules.  The best way to avoid this problem altogether is not to get a credit card and not to go in to debt.  I now live by a cash only rule.  If I don’t have enough money in the bank to buy it and if I can’t pay for it in cash – I can’t afford it.

Politics

Wenchypoo presents Piety is No Substitute for Technique posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

Awe Wenchypoo – let’s call a spade a spade – they are losers!  Your assessment of the Obamessiah and his sheeple are 100% on spot.  But, given the fact that since his election the number of Independents have grown and both the numbers of Dems and Repubs have fallen – I would say he is a one-termer and people are starting to wake up.  Great post.

Steve Faber presents How We?ll Be Forced To Drive the Most Fuel Efficient Cars – Even if We Don?t Want To posted at super gas saver.

Howdy Steve – a very excellent discussion.  I realize you are probably very serious about your discussion and you actually support the legislation that the Obamessiah admin is about to force down our throats.  However, I see a huge revolt going on in this country.  We Americans will not stand idly by while our government forces socialism down our throats.  We will not allow the government to dictate our choices – not even which cars we want to drive.  What you will see  happening around this country is that more and more people will be holding on to their cars longer to avoid purchasing these idiotic killer machines that the government wants us to drive.  You will see a huge used car market opening up.  You will see mechanics becoming more popular and more widely utilized to keep our cars running longer so that we can keep our larger more safe cars.  We will see Americans as a whole rise up against the government and tell them Hell No!  We’ll vote out idiots like Waxman, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer, McCain, and any other idiot politician that goes along with these socialist plans.  We regular every day citizens are a helluva lot smarter than what those idiotic elitist politicians give us credit for.  As I stated in a previous discussion – we are Americans and when our backs are put up against a wall – we come out fighting.  We’re already being pushed – it’s not going to be too much longer before we’re up against that wall.

Wenchypoo presents Now I’M Changing the Marketing Plan posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

All I can say to this is – Bwahahahaha!

Eric Gargiulo presents The future of America? We Need To Look Else Where, Fast! posted at CamelClutchBlog.com, saying, “So now the republicans want change? They seem to have a new leader in the form of ultra conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Since when did he become such a powerful force in the Republican Party? That is scary.”

Welcome to the Carnival Eric.  I read this post and I read your about page – still can’t figure out where you stand politically.  I guess that’s a good thing.  The only one’s who are saying that Rush is the leader of the Republican party are those in the lefty media.  For regular Americans out here like myself Rush is just another talking head.  Sure, he makes some great points as far as conservatism goes – but – he’s an entertainer.

Here’s the deal – We actually know how to use our brains.  We can actually listen to people like Rush, Hannity, Beck, and O’Reilly and make up our own minds.  We agree with a lot of what they say and we can also disagree with those things they say that are way over the top.  Unfortunately, those on the left that listen to Olbermann, John Stewart, Maddow, and Maher actually believe those idiots and absolutely everything they say.  The difference between those of us on the right and those on the left is that we actually use our brains and we can discern the difference between over-the-top entertaining, rhetoric, and truth.  Rush is an entertainer and a lot of what he says is just to drive those guys on the left out of their minds.

Allen Scott presents Piracy posted at Journey Across the Sky, saying, “The more things change the more they remain the same. From the halls of montezuma to the shores of tripoli once again our navy is sent to fight pirates on the high seas but we at home are called upon to fight piracy on the sea of commerce.”

Allen – I love this analogy!  I must say this is probably the must read post of the week.  I think you’ve nailed it.  There will be a lot of wings sprouting soon.

SpkTruth2Pwr presents Dear Cheney: Torture is NOT a Path to Jusitce posted at The Apathy Remedy, saying, “A blog about why Cheney should have spoken publicly while VP or forever hold his peace…especially on the issue of torture”

I can answer the question as to why Cheney is speaking out now – it’s because Obama and his administration have openly and directly accused him of committing “war crimes.”  They have called him out by name while he was attempting to live his retirement on the sidelines.  The lefty loonies in D.C. forced him to defend himself and the policies that he supported.  In those immortal words of Rambo – they “drew first blood.”

Is there still any doubt that history is repeating itself?

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, China, Civil Rights, Congress, Constitution, Democrats, Freedom, Idiots, Liberals, Obama, Politics, President, Second Amendment, Socialism, US Constitution, communism, government

I’m in the final stretches now of this semester.  A final exam this week and I’m done!  In the meantime, a co-worker of mine sent me this cartoon from a 1934 edition of the Chicago Tribune.

Really study that cartoon and tell me if you don’t see the eerie similarities between 1934 and now? We all know what happened during then – the prolonged great depression that we were pulled out of only after entering in to WWII. I don’t give a flying crap about those idiots on the left that insist it was FDR’s policies that pulled us out. History, and those who actually were interested in the truth, has proven that such policies caused this country great harm – policies that this current administration are currently forcing down our throats.

China is gobbling up all the natural resources: gold, copper, silver, oil, natural gas, etc – and is firmly establishing itself for the future. I just read that China SAVES 52% of its’ GDP whereas America only saves 8% of its GDP. Which currency do you think will be the global currency in the next decade? It sure as hell isn’t going to be the dollar. Obama is screwing this thing up royally and those leftard sheeple who voted for him still are giving him a pass despite what history has shown us will happen.

We’re now headed down a path where the government dictates what kind of cars we can drive, what kind of food we can eat, how much money our employers are allowed to pay us, what temperature our home thermostats will need to be set to, what banks we patronize and which credit cards to use, and what appliances we are allowed to buy – not to mention the fact that he will soon be instituting strong anti-gun legislation. On that last one – sure – it hasn’t happened yet – but – we have the most anti-gun president, most anti-gun attorney general, and the most anti-gun Congress EVER in American history. They’re just waiting for the right crisis to start imposing limitations on gun ownership – Diane Feinstein said it herself just last month on 60 minutes.

There was a tax revolt in California yesterday and Barney Franks is pushing legislation through to have the rest of the country bail out California.  The rest of the country will be expected to carry the burden of California’s idiotic socialist policies rather than let them fail and reset their own economy.  Wake up people – we ARE repeating history and we ARE gradually losing our personal freedoms and rights to choose our own course for our pursuits of life, liberty, happiness, and property.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – May 17, 2009 Edition

Hi All – well – here is the next great installment of the carnival.  One term paper and final exam down – one more term paper and final exam to go! You’ll notice we have a huge selection to choose from this week – I’d like to take credit saying this carnival draws that many in a week – but – since I didn’t put up an issue last week for Mother’s Day – this is actually the result of a two-week “soak.”  I want to thank all of you who submitted an article – and to all the readers who continue to come back!

I’m in the process of putting the final touches on my last term paper – so – I haven’t had time to really read through all of these this week.  However, I promise I will get to all of next week’s submissions as I will be done and on break from school next week.
