Break the Cycle of Failed New Year’s Resolutions with New Book, Achieve Anything in Just One Year

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: advertise

This is a sponsored guest post written by Jason Harvey on behalf of Achieve Anything In Just One Year. Post powered by Sponzai.

On January 1, more than 100 million Americans will make a New Year’s resolution, according to a University of Washington survey. By March, however, most resolution-makers will already have broken their newly minted promises.

In his new book, Achieve Anything in Just One Year: Be Inspired Daily to Live Your Dreams and Accomplish Your Goals (Amazing Life Press, $29.95, http://www.amazinglifepress.com/), Jason Harvey provides a blueprint for personal success that can make 2010 the year that resolutions become reality.

Most resolutions fail because people try to change too fast and accomplish too much all at once,” said Harvey, a Certified Life Coach. “My book is about learning how to make small daily changes and be your own personal life coach.”

The most common resolutions – to quit smoking, lose weight, exercise more, spend more quality time with family, etc. – are also the easiest to break. “The truth is, we set ourselves up to fail by making resolutions that are sweeping and unrealistic,” explained Harvey.

The resulting cycle of making and breaking promises is self-defeating – so how can individuals make resolutions stick? Achieve Anything in Just One Year equips readers with the tools to:

  • Be truly committed.Don’t just go through the motions – act like you’re making a promise to your company, or to your best friend.
  • Be specific. A resolution like “I want to lose weight” is easier to ignore than “I want to lose five pounds by March.”
  • Set a deadline. A timeframe equals commitment and helps quantify success.
  • Avoid overwhelming yourself. You may want to lose weight, quit smoking, achieve moderation with martinis and cut up your credit cards all at once, but let’s get real. Focus on a limited set of goals and plan on taking stock mid-year.
  • Change one thing at a time. Recognize that change is hard. Wait to achieve one goal before starting on the next.
  • Be realistic. Taking charge of a fitness regimen is a realistic goal, while exercising seven days a week may not be. Don’t set yourself up for disappointment with lofty goals.

The idea is to take daily action that creates a ripple effect in your life,” said Harvey. “By transforming your life with small steps, you can stay motivated, focused and balanced. Best of all, you’ll feel happier about pursuing your personal success.”

I blame “Independent” voters for this mess!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: America, Congress, Conservative, Democrats, Elections, Idiots, Liberals, Politics, government, health care

confusionAs most should all know by now – the Dems passed that idiotic health care bill in the Senate this morning.

The good news is it still has to go to reconciliation to combine the House and Senate bills – which – it appears there could be some serious obstacles to getting this thing passed. The bad news is that Pelosi and Reid are going to do it behind closed doors.  What ever happened to transparency? Let’s hope there will be enough outraged Dems this time around that will refuse to allow this closed door policy to pass.

But – given all things – the only ones to blame for this mess are those so-called “Independent” voters who are always in the middle of the road – afraid to commit.  During this last election everyone knew how the left was going to vote and everyone knew, pretty much, how the right was going to vote – either McCain or some other conservative candidate. The reason Obama won was because of those so-called “Independent” voters, sometimes called “Swing Voters.”

We really can’t blame Obama or the Dems in the majority of both the house and the senate.  They are doing exactly as many of us warned the country they would do.  They are moving this country in the absolute wrong direction – towards socialism and a complete government takeover of this country.  If the healthcare bill passes – the government will control 49% of the economy and all GDP.  If they pass the Cap-and-Trade bill next year – the government will control 62% of the economy and all of GDP.

This doesn’t surprise me at all.  Myself and many other bloggers out there were constantly sounding the alarm on Obama before the election and warned of the dangers of allowing the Dems a supermajority.  But – we were called nutjobs, idiots, and talk radio zombies by the left and those “independents.”  If there is anyone to blame for all of this mess that our country now faces it is because of those idiots who now have buyer’s remorse for voting for Obama.  We warned you guys and now we’re stuck with this bullshit because of dipshits like yourself.

This is politics – there is no middle ground.  You have to take a side in politics.  It is either Yes or No.  A vote of “present” or “abstain” is not a vote.  Either you consider yourself liberal and vote for liberalism – or you are a conservative and you vote for conservatism, or you are libertarian and vote out government all together.  You idiots in the middle are the problem in this country.  At least we know what liberals, libertarians, and conservatives stand for.  You guys in the middle stand for nothing.  You guys in the middle are weak and non-committal.  What we see now is the result of standing in the middle of the road.  Our economy is trashed because of Obama and the Democrats, our housing market is trashed because of liberal policies, and now health care in this country will be trashed because of liberalism – and the only one’s to blame are you independent boneheads who voted for Obama even after you were warned constantly and consistently by those of us on the right.

This entire health care “crisis” is manufactured.  There is NO health care crisis in this country.  90% of this country has insurance (270 million – that is the total population 300 Mil less the 30 mil uninsured).  Of the 30 million uninsured – 10 million are already eligible for some form of coverage, either medicaid, medicare, or schip – they just haven’t applied.  Another 8 million are between the ages of 18 – 30 that CHOOSE not to buy insurance, and another 2 million make $75k or above and CHOOSE not to purchase insurance.  What this leaves is 10 million in the million who want insurance but either can’t afford it or don’t qualify for the other programs.  This means that effectively 97% of this country either has insurance or choose not to buy insurance.  Of the 90% who do have insurance – 85% are satisfied with their insurance.  So – essentially – only 18% (15% unhappy with their coverage plus the remaining 3% who can’t get insurance) of this entire country has a problem with our current system.  So, what this means is that the catalyst behind this so called health insurance crisis in this country is the result of 54 million people out of 300 million.  That, my friends, does not constitute a crisis serious enough to warrant a complete government takeover of our health care and our country.  If this were truly a health care reform bill meant to drive down the costs of health care – WE WOULDN’T NEED INSURANCE!!!!

You independent idiots bought in to the lies and now the rest of the country suffers because of your idiocy.  Thanks for nothing!  Now – go grow some balls and pick a side and stay with it.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – December 20, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Carnival, Conservative, Democrats, Liberals, Politics, blogs, government, libertarian

Hey all – so sorry for my apparent lack of participation throughout the past week.  It was very hectic both in the real work world and in the real family world – things are pretty busy as we ramp up towards Christmas.  There were plenty of evenings where I was just too tired to do any blogging.  I suspect my posts may be a bit sparse next week also.

Which also leads to this next announcement – this will be the last BoBo Carnival of Politics of 2009.  I will be in Virginia the following week and then the week after that is New Year’s weekend.  The next edition will be on January 10, 2010.  So, enjoy the last edition for this year!

Conservative

Joe Manausa, MBA presents Erwin Jackson Asks Tallahassee To Demand More posted at Tallahassee Real Estate Blog, saying, “The Tallahassee City Commission cooked up a plan to give themselves an unlawful raise by calling it something else. They called it “deferred compensation.” Yet they deferred no compensation, they continued to cash their fully-funded paychecks, and they each received an additional $22K per year!”

As a fellow Floridian – this outrages me as well, even though we are in two separate areas of the state.  I hate politicians.  Good for Mr. Jackson.  I’ll keep an eye on this issue as well.  I hope all of those commissioners go to jail.

Scott Spiegel presents Top 10 Conservatives of 2009 posted at Scott Spiegel.

A very interesting list you have compiled there.  While I agree they all belong on a list of top conservatives – I have others in mind I think I would have put up there before some you have on the list – but – then – that would be MY list . :)   A very interesting selection you have there to say the least. I think the best thing about this list – every one of those individuals listed would drive those lefties absolutely insane.

Liberal

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Dressing Down The President posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Good one.  I won’t say anything more – okay – just kidding..when have I ever left anything like that? LOL.  Actually, we both agree this bill needs to be killed – but – for completely different reasons.  You guys want MORE government intrusion in the lives of American people – and I want the government to quit trampling on the constitution.  This bill is unconstitutional in every variation – even the one in the house.  Also, thought you might like to know – in the House they only need 51% not 51 votes.

Libertarian

Rick Sincere presents Bill of Rights Day 2009 posted at Rick Sincere News and Thoughts, saying, “Report, with video, of the Jefferson Area Libertarians’ annual celebration of the anniversary of the Bill of Rights”

Rick – first – I’d like to thank you for enlightening me – I did not realize there was a national Bill of Rights Day.  I will keep December 15th noted on my calendar for years to come and will be actively seeking out these rallies in my area now.  Thanks for providing some great video’s and some great commentary regarding the Charlottesville area rally.  Lastly, Keith Olbermann is an idiot.

News

Archvillain presents Egregious Stupidity posted at A Dark and Sinister Force for Good, saying, “Four little words are being used to destroy our civilization: It’s for the children!”

As always – an excellent post.  One thing that I would like to add regarding that case in Boston – while we all recognize it was an attack on Christianity – this kid’s father took it one step further – he pulled the race card in to this – whereby adding another two words to what has gone wrong in this country.  Zero tolerance, parental abdication of responsibility – and – race card.  These, in addition to the other four words you mention – all fall under that other hideously dangerous term – Political Correctness.  This is a great post for everyone to read.

Politics

Grandpa Oddball presents Throw the Rascals out!! posted at GetOddNews.

Welcome to the Carnival Grandpa.  I can say, if we throw the baby out with the bathwater – then – so be it.  I’m with ya on this one and I’m sure there are many more Americans across this country that feel the same as we both do.  This is a great post.  I look forward to seeing more submissions, especially as you follow up on this post. Also, I read your “about” page.  I’m very impressed that you are able to do the blogging that you do.  My continued thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family as you continue to fight your illness(es). Keep up the great blogging!

Ann Margrain presents Corruption in Health: Addiction to Pills that Kill posted at Heroin and Cornflakes, saying, “Why would his supervisors intimidate scientists? After all, this is a government agency – not some drugs cartel from Mexico. Well, it helps to understand that in addition to campaign contributions to elected government officials and candidates, companies, and other organizations spend billions of dollars each year to lobby Congress and federal agencies. Some special interests retain lobbying firms, many of them located along Washington’s legendary K Street; others have lobbyists working in-house.”

Actually, if you want the FDA to act really quick – just let an actor or sports figure die from abusing and using them improperly.  While I certainly agree with the main points of your article – the FDA shut down all diet products made with Ma Huang (ephedra) shortly after Steve Bechler died.  There had only been 1 death that year related to ephedra – and – it was found that he was taking more than the proscribed limits.  More people die every year from accidental aspirin overdoses – yet – that product remains over the counter.  I harp on this particular drug/supplement – because it was highly effective and non-addictive.  You are on to something – I bet those other drug companies prompted the FDA to act quickly to ban ephedra so that they can continue to push their addictive supplements.  Great post.

Scott Social Media Allen presents Don’t Make New Laws – Enforce the Ones We Have posted at Scott “Social Media” Allen, saying, “The last thing we need is more laws, especially when existing laws cover the issue at hand.”

Absolutely!!  But, then again – we have more laws on our books throughout the country that most have probably never even realized were there.  So, why should we expect our government representatives to actually investigate to see if there are already laws on the books that would fit the need they are looking for – let’s just make up another law – it’s easier!  How could we citizens possibly demand our elected and selected government officials to actually do the job they were hired for? ;)

Super Saver presents Tax Credit for Golf Carts – Another Unintended Consequence? posted at My Wealth Builder, saying, “What will the politicians think of next? Perhaps the health care reform bill will include a exercise tax credit for buying golf equipment and playing golf.”

It absolutely floored me last week when John Stossel did segment for his inaugural debut on The Fox Business Network.  Talk about a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.  Thanks for posting this story and for submitting it here at the carnival.  This is another of those issues that I heard about, intended to blog about, then just got bogged down.  This is a must read for everyone.  You won’t hear this story any where on the MSM.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of The BoBo Carnival of Politics using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

Global Warmonger Believers are idiots!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Eco-terrorists, Global warmongering, Politics, Socialism, globalization

Hey – you – the bonehead that STILL believes in anthropogenic global warming – (oh..sorry..forgot..you guys don’t understand that kind of language, obviously) man-made global warming.  In case you haven’t heard – CLIMATEGATE! Get it!  6,000+ e-mails were leaked from the East Anglia Climate Research Unit – some dated just a few months ago – that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that AGW is a hoax.  It proves beyond a shadow of doubt that they manipulated the data and fooled the U.N. IPCC and you boneheads.  It proves beyond a shadow of doubt they hijacked the peer review system and buried valid studies that disputed AGW.

Before you start spewing your idiotic “facts” and “observations” in order to counter anything I said – THINK!!!!!  You boneheads keep using that faked data above in order to continue to “prove your point.”  Apparently, you don’t get it.  YOU WERE USED dipshit and every piece of information you use right now to try to say AGW is real – IS FAKE! You don’t have an argument and any statistic or other information you try to use is now completely suspect.

In case you don’t understand this  – THEY THREW AWAY THE ORIGINAL RAW DATA!  The first and main tenet of scientific research is YOU ALWAYS KEEP THE DATA.  The reason being is so that others can reproduce the results.  If the results cannot be reproduced, the results and entire study are considered invalid.  So – here’s the deal – since the data has been discarded and now no scientist on this planet can reproduce the results – they have effectively invalidated every study they ever conducted and published in the last three decades using that data.  NO REAL SCIENTISTS EVER THROW AWAY THE ORIGINAL DATA!  The only scientists who do such a thing are those who are trying to hide or cover something up.

Stop trying to throw your bullshit statistics at me to try to say AGW is real.  Your statistics are not real.  It’s about time you wake up and realize you no longer have an argument.  Most everything in Al Gore’s movie was already debunked (including that idiotic hockey stick graph) and now – everything that wasn’t debunked before – it IS now based on those e-mails.  And – if none of this is enough for you – let’s hear it from an AGW believer about JUST HOW BAD THEIR DATA REALLY IS!!!

I found this over at Hot Air.  Listen carefully, global warmongerers – your arguments have come completely unraveled.  Stop pushing your socialist wealth redistribution agenda on the rest of the world – we’re not buying it – and more and more are waking up to your lies.

UPDATE – For some more REAL facts – go check out Edisto Joe and this post.  Don’t listen to the lies any more.  You are just useful idiots to those on the left with a socialist agenda.

The BoBo Carnival of Politics – December 13, 2009 Edition

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Politics

Well – submissions this week were pretty light.  I blame that on Blog Carnival.  They’ve had issues for the past few weeks and I guess it turned some people off.  In any case – at least with it being light on the submissions this week I can get through it quicker! :)   Hopefully, now that blogcarnival seems to have their problems fixed – next week we’ll see more submissions.

Conservative

Scott Spiegel presents Copenhagen or Bust (Hint: Bust) posted at Scott Spiegel.

I agree with ya on this one.  It will be a monumental failure.  Given that Sensenbrenner decided to go over there to remind the Copenhagen delegation that no matter what Obama promises to them, it will be up to Congress and the people to actually make that decision.  Great post!

Liberal

Madeleine Begun Kane presents “No-Man” Joe posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Odd – this didn’t show up in my e-mails.  Joe is right – the only response to this bill for anyone with any brains is “NO.”  This bill does nothing to reform our health CARE system.  Besides, it is unconstitutional since it forced everyone to BUY health insurance which is a consumer product.  The federal government cannot force anyone to buy anything.  If they really wanted to reform health care – they would work on making it more accessible and more affordable – which as absolutely nothing to do with insurance.  Also – a public option is unconstitutional as well.  Again – a public option violates the 10th Amendment.  The problem is that too many people in this country are ignorant and don’t understand what the government limits are and that Congress is overstepping that boundary.  Nice try though!

Susan Gaissert presents Obama and the World Where Nothing is Easy posted at My Political Side, saying, “I’m a progressive Democrat who is currently (still) giving President Obama the benefit of the doubt.”

This didn’t show up in my e-mails either.  Must be a conspiracy against the liberal submissions! :)   I read this post – and just shook my head.  I just hope one day you realize your mistake in your support of Obama.  His Afghanistan decision will result in being just as huge a blunder as was Carter’s decision to try and rescue the hostages in Iran.  His plan is going to get more soldiers and civilians killed unnecessarily.

Miscellaneous

Jennifer Kingsley presents 25 Most Influential People in Healthcare posted at Masters in Health Care.

News

DCTrader presents Financial Bloggers Traders Insights posted at DCTrader.

Very interesting…however, you mention a chart/graphic – but – I don’t see it there.  I’m not real sure what I’m looking at on your page as it doesn’t really look like a typical blog page.  Your point is kinda lost in the jumbled page.  I see where you’re going with the whole “uptick” point of view as it relates to the 2008 market crash – however – it is really hard to follow and your point may be lost because it is so jumbled up.  Sorry.

SVB presents How Our Consumer Debt Problems Got Out of Control posted at The Digerati Life, saying, “How we got into trouble with debt.”

Wow!  That graphic showing the difference between savings and debt is really eye opening.  I knew this country was in trouble – but – I didn’t realize it was that bad.  I hope to be one of those 1/4 households out of debt in 2010.  We had an emergency in August that required us to put $11,000 on one of our cards – we had to have an entire wall replaced in our house (don’t ask).  Other than that – we would have been debt free.  I really like this post and I have it bookmarked for future reference.  I suggest my readers to do the same.

Politics

Emily Moser presents Six Files the US Government Keeps on You, and How to Obtain a Copy posted at Forensic Science Technician.

Very informative, Emily.  I knew about these – but – never knew how to obtain them.  Thanks for this submission.  I’m sure my readers will learn something from it as well.

Ann Margrain presents Water, Oysters and Africa posted at Heroin and Cornflakes, saying, “Two-thirds of Africans whose livelihoods depend on agriculture, received as little as five percent of public resources. This effectively meant that too little was spent on research and development, accessing markets, storage facilities, handling and transport, marketing and trade. Instead the bulk of the money was recycled back to the financial institutions. How?”

I agree that is a problem in Africa.  However, what I noticed you did not point out in your article is the outright corruption in the various African governments.  Not only did most of that money get diverted to the banks – but – it also went in to the pockets of the political elite in those countries – most of whom are part of the U.N. – which further proves the U.N. is just as corrupt.  I think the problem is that many of the rest of the industrialized countries are now tired of having their donations and subsidies being wasted.  I for one don’t want to see another American tax payer dime going to Africa until their countries and governments are reformed.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of The BoBo Carnival of Politics using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
