That is still one of the number one search questions that bring people to my blog. Sure, you guys on the left might be saying I’m stilling beating an old drum – but – this is still very much a burning question and everyone wants an answer. Sure – you guys keep falling back stating the Republican Governor of Hawaii said she saw and verified there is “a birth certificate” on record.
But – what has not been released or verified is his actual vaulted copy of the original certificate of birth. For those of you that have not read my previous post on this issue – Hawaii has two different types of birth certificates – A Certificate of Live Birth and A Certificate of Birth. A Certificate of Birth is the one that is issued when an individual is actually born in Hawaii. A Certificate of Live Birth is one that anyone born anywhere can have issued to them from Hawaii. The latter indicates the actual origin of birth. So – this makes the Governor’s statement very vague and does not answer the burning question.
So – what is it that has prompted me to bring this issue to the forefront again? LOTS!!!!
First – two separate but related stories….A 1LT Scott R. Easterling, active duty Army currently stationed in Iraq has joined a lawsuit filed by Dr. Orly Taitz, Esq that challenges Obama to verify his origin of birth by releasing his vaulted Certificate of Birth issued from Hawaii at the time of his alleged birth IN Hawaii. In his exact words:
As a citizen, it pains me to do this, but as an Offficer, my sworn oath to support and defend our Constitution requires this action.
You can follow the link up there to see his actual letter. He is so absolutely dead on with that statement. We service members take an oath that says we will “protect the Constitution of United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Domestic is the key word here. He is following through on his sworn oath to defend our constitution against a potential domestic enemy. How can I call Obama an enemy? Well, if he has usurped our constitution and is found to not be an actual U.S. citizen – then he is an enemy to the state as he has assumed the top leadership position in this country under false pretenses and has done so willfully.
Next – a second story came out today – Another U.S. soldier has thrown his hat into the ring and joined the Orly Taitz lawsuit. His name remains unidentified at this time, but will be revealed once enjoined to the motion. He doesn’t want any undue publicity at this time. In his exact words – and this should make so much sense to anyone:
“When I enlisted last year I had to show my birth certificate, as well as my driver’s license, high school diploma, college transcripts, social security card; I also filled out loads of paperwork to include listing the names, addresses and phone numbers of my family members and had to answer any questions regarding foreign travel.
“I think it is reasonable for Obama to prove his citizenship status thus certifying his eligibility. I too raised my right hand and swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States,”
Right on! So – why hasn’t Obama gone through the same scrutiny for the highest position in this country? No – you guys on the left are absolutely wrong. He was not vetted. That is part of the argument in the Taitz lawsuit. He also names Congress and the Electoral College in this lawsuit because they are constitutionally bound to verify a candidate’s eligibility. They never actually viewed Obama’s birth certificate either.
Lastly – if you think this is all just payback – you are sooooooo wrong. There are a LOT of people out there concerned about his eligibility that also includes other elected officials from both parties at multiple levels of government. Here is a short list of all those lawsuits that are currently in motion and unresolved (the majority of those dismissed were done so at a judicial level only with no actual review of evidence):
- New Jersey attorney Mario Apuzzo has filed a case on behalf of Charles Kerchner and others alleging Congress didn’t properly ascertain that Obama is qualified to hold the office of president.
- Pennsylvania Democrat Philip Berg has three cases pending, including Berg vs. Obama in the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, a separate Berg vs. Obama which is under seal at the U.S. District Court level and Hollister vs. Soetoro a/k/a Obama, brought on behalf of a retired military member who could be facing recall to active duty by Obama.
- Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama’s dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.
- Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut’s secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.
- Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state’s 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public’s support.
- Chicago attorney Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama’s vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.
- Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama’s eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama’s citizenship. His case was denied.
- In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.
- In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama’s citizenship. The case was denied.
- In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama’s birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia’s secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.
- California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters.
- In Texas, Brockhausen vs. Andrade.
- In Washington, L. Charles Cohen vs. Obama.
Obama is in for a very bumpy ride. Just one burning question – if he REALLY is a U.S. Citizen and REALLY was born in Hawaii – why won’t he release the vault copy of his birth certificate and just get this thing over? What is he hiding? The majority of those cases were thrown out stating those individuals had no legal “standing.”
Well – Orly Taitz and the two U.S. soldiers certainly have standing. If a member of the U.S. military is to take orders from the President as the Commander-In-Chief they certainly need to know whether or not those are lawful orders.
If he can have his public records sealed – does this mean that I can have all of my public records sealed as well? Birth Certificate, Mortgage Records, DMV records, etc? I also want to know under what authority he had his PUBLIC records sealed! Him being a Presidential candidate and now the President is not authority to hide public records from the public.

Because Obama HAS proved that he was born in Hawaii already. He has posted his official birth certificate.
Yes, the Certification of Live Birth, which is the document that he showed on his site, and in much more detail on FactCheck.org, (http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html) is the official birth certificate of Hawaii. It shows that he was born in Hawaii, and it is a legal document.
In a court, unless there is actual proof that the document has been forged or that there is evidence that Obama was born somewhere else, the Hawaii Certification of Live Birth will be accepted as proof that Obama was born in Hawaii.
It turns out that the Department of Health of Hawaii sends out ONLY the certification of live birth, which is what Obama has already posted. It no longer sends out copies of the original birth certificate or vault copy.
What about the original birth certificate? Certainly, there are original birth certificates, which some people have because they saved it from the time of their birth, but unless they have, the only birth certificate that they can get is the official birth certificate that Hawaii sends out today. THAT turns out to be only the Certification of Live Birth, which is what Obama posted.
So all the questions about why doesn’t he post the long-form birth certificate have two simple answers:
(1) The Certification of Live Birth is THE official birth certificate, it shows that he was born in Hawaii, and it is legally sufficient to prove it; and
(2) Unless he has kept the original birth certificate and not mislaid it, all that he can post is what Hawaii will send him, which is only the Certification of Live Birth, which is what he has already posted.
Now, I suspect you will ask the next logical question, how do I know that Hawaii only sends out the Certification of Live Birth and will NOT send out original birth certificates even if you ask for it? The answer is that I asked them repeatedly, and the answer has always been: “We send out only the Certification of Live Birth.” You can check, by asking your own questions by e-mail at vr-info@doh.hawaii.gov.
Well, your first comment is quite. Well, you know. I don’t know. I have thought he’s been shady about everything right from the beginning. When you lie down with dogs you wake up with fleas and he’s got some very strange bedfellows. I don’t think he was born in Hawaii either.
What I really fear is his muslim background and he has one. So, I’d love to have this issue resolved as you would.

@Sandee – I believe he is a Christian – but that he has followed the Black Theology version that preaches white-hate. He is indeed a shady character and he was not fully vetted – therefore the constitutional challenge to his legitimacy.

But, I can see you are one of those kool-aid drinkers. Keep your head in the sand. Don’t let the truth change your mind or anything. My issue with coal has nothing to do with global warming. It has to do with cleaning up after your mess, a lesson that the coal executives should have learned in kindergarten with the rest of us.

Baloney! Maybe you would like that it was forged, but it was not forged. Maybe you would like that it is not a real document from Hawaii, but it is.
I believe two “experts” were quoted by WND (hardly the most impartial news agency) saying that the document was a forgery. But the REAL experts in forgery, the police of Hawaii and the FBI, have done nothing. Who should we believe, the “experts” who were selected by WND, or the Hawaii authorities and the FBI?

It is time to focus on REAL issues, not imaginary ones.
A fairly impressive internet industry has sprung up claiming that Obama was born in either Kenya or Indonesia. This is nonsense, which distracts from the broadly unexplored story of Obama’s upbringing. This kind of nonsense has emerged because the McCain campaign chose not to raise the many questions about Barack Obama’s numerous hard-left alliances. Barack Obama was born in Hawai`i, August 4, 1961 at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu.
Obama’s birth certificate posted online is exactly the same birth certificate everybody in Hawai`i gets from the State Department of Health. It is not forged. There is nothing unusual about the design or the texture. In addition to the birth certificate, the August 13, 1961 Honolulu Advertiser also carries an announcement of Obama’s birth. The Honolulu Star-Bulletin also carries the same announcement. Both papers require submission of a copy of the birth certificate to print a birth announcement.

Was there ever any question as to where and to whom Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Nixon, Gerald Ford were born? No – historical knowledge and common knowledge didn’t require it. Why is Obama different? Because his father was Kenyan and was NOT a US Citizen. I think it is great that a person from Obama’s background can rise up through the political battlefield and become POTUS – but when one comes from out of no where with no historical and common knowledge of his background, he should be obliged to provide his constituents with that information – especially if they request it. In fact, he should be so proud of who he is and where he came from that he would WANT to provide this information without being asked for it.
Was there ever any question as to the religious / political / life experiences of the aforementioned Presidents? No – they were from prominent or at least semi-known families who had media recorded histories. In other words, without much digging, we could trace their religious beliefs, we knew from their parents, their place in society, and their actions where they stood politically, and we had a loose general and common knowledge of their life experiences (i.e. where they went to school, who they associated with, where in the world they spent any extended periods of their life). Do we know these things about Obama through common or media knowledge? NO. Why would it not be prudent to then ask for and receive documented truth about his beliefs, ideals, and life foundations? It is the only way you are going to know who he is as a person and how he is likely to govern – unless you don’t care who your president is and what his definition of Hope and Change is – even if it is different than your own definition.
Personally, I have no clue anymore what to think about Obama. He says one thing and does another, and does one thing and then says another. He touts transparency, but then he seals his documents and rushes through the largest spending package in the history of the US all WITHOUT transparency of any kind. He says he was born in Hawaii – but was he? I used to think so – but now I’m not sure. In his book he says he found a copy of his BC – but now he seems to have lost it, or doesn’t have it, or never had it. Which is it – did he find it and then misplace it, or did that actually never happen. Is his father Obama Sr.? I used to think so, but I’m not even convinced of that anymore. Questions, questions, and more questions.
On the issue of the BC – I can only relate my experience to this issue. He was born in Aug of 1961, and I was born in Sept. of 1961. I applied for a passport back in 2000 and went to my Health Department and retrieved my BC (well, what I thought was my BC). Sent it off with the fee and was told NO, NO, NO! The Passport Office would NOT take my COLB in order to issue my passport. I was told they needed a certified copy of the vault BC. Now, there is nothing odd or strange about me or my heritage. My great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents were all born IN the US and all 3 of these men were in local / state level law enforcement. I too was born in the US in Texas to 2 US natural born citizens. Therefore, there would be no ‘special’ reason why the COLB wasn’t sufficient for a Passport, other than – a COLB is NOT sufficient evidence for proof of citizenship to obtain a passport!!!! But yet, Obama wants us to believe it IS sufficient evidence of NBC in order to run for POTUS? I had to go back and ask my Health Department for the certified copy of the vault BC. They questioned me severely as to why I needed it as it was not customarily given out anymore. Once they found out it was for a Passport, no problem and of course, I should have mentioned that the first time I came – as they KNEW the COLB they routinely and customarily provide was not sufficient for a Passport. I’ll bet money – that if Obama explained to the Hawaiian Officials why he needed a certified copy of his vault BC, they would have no problems giving it to him.
So my next qestion is this – does Obama have a US Passport? If so – how did he get it if he doesn’t have a certified copy of the vault BC? Maybe I was discriminated against and people with somewhat questionable heritage (Kenyan father) have less stringent rules for proving their citizenship. Of course, this is ridiculous and we all understand that either he provided his vault BC for a US passport or he doesn’t have one. And NO, the Passport Office did NOT confirm that he has a US Poassport merely by stating that someone in the administration breeched his ‘passport file’. A passport file would be maintained by ANYONE entering or leaving the US using a passport of any origin.
The fact that questions remain indicate they need to be addressed and a decision handed down. The issue is NOT going away and you would think that even Obama’s followers would want the issue put to rest as well – unless they are worried that he is in fact, not eligible to be POTUS.

He has. The Certification of Live Birth is the official birth document sent out by Hawaii.

Answer: A COLB is sufficient evidence for the US State Department to grant a passport. If you think this is wrong, ask them. Here’s a number: 1-877-487-2778. (You will have to press 0 a couple or several times to break through the recording and reach a live agent. I did and was asked: “does it have a raised seal? ” Yes. “Does it have the full name? ” Yes. “Does it have the date and location of birth?” Yes. “Then it looks like it is exactly what is required.”)

@smrstrauss – you know it would seem to me that Obama could end all of this by providing both documents. He could end the court challenges. He could end any questions from those serving in the military. He could get this out of the press and off the internet (for the most part). If you were him, why not just end it all and move on? He could easily have someone call Hawaii, pay the fee, and have a certified copy of his BC to the White House. Just about everyone knows the address; 1600 Pennsylvainia Ave. Washington D.C.
I am just a guy who served 20 year in the United States Air Force. During my career I held (and still do hold) a Top Secret security clearance. One of the documents I had to provide to enlist and get my clearance, was a certifed copy of my BC. I still have that certified copy of my BC in a file right here in my house.
If I were President, and there was any question concerning my citizenship, I would just open the file and get the certifed copy of my BC.
As to the question if any other President has had to do the same. Probably not, but a good answer was given previously so I will not repeat.
But, having said that, I think every person running for President, should have to provide all documentation necessary to prove they are eligible to hold the office.
Yes, I know I wrote “certified copy of BC” several times; it was to drive the point across. End this whole thing by providing both documents!!!
That birth certificate isn’t the only document he’s never released.
He’s never released his records from any of the colleges he attended. His records from his days in the Illinois Senate are MIA. (He claims they were destroyed. Why?) His passport records have never been released. If he has never had dual citizenship, how did he get into Pakistan, when people holding US passports weren’t being allowed in? His medical records were never released, just a one-page note from his doctor. The records from his days overseeing the Annenburg Challenge were released after a lengthy delay.
It’s not generally demanded that a Presidential candidate release their birth certificate, but all of these other documents have been produced by politicians any time questions arise.
So, the question remains… if he doesn’t have anything to hide, why is he trying so hard to keep all of his records under wraps? If there’s nothing of interest, why are armies of attorneys fighting these lawsuits?
There are people who are wing-nuts, I’ll agree. And I, for one, certainly don’t consider myself a conspiracy theorist. But, one does have to wonder at the refusal of Obama to comply with the ever-growing number of requests to disclose this information. The issue could be resolved so simply, just by releasing the documents.
The idea that a certified copy of his BC doesn’t exist unless he has it laying around his house is nonsense. Of course the copy exists, it is a drawer somewhere in Hawaii. If, indeed, he was born in Hawaii. (Which, for the record, I think he was. I think the more damning problem would be his Indonesian history. Indonesia doesn’t allow dual citizenship, so when did he regain US citizenship. Or did he regain it?)
It’s all pretty shady, and it’s made more shady by the fact that he refuses to just produce the documents that are available to any citizen.

@jana – When were US passport holders not allowed into Pakistan??? The answer is never.
And Bobo, maybe some of what you say is true, but I look at the Certificate of Live Birth and I’m pretty satisfied with that. It’s certified by the state of Hawaii, and it says he was born in Honolulu on Aug 4, 1961. It’s certified by the government! What else do you want? I look at my own BC, and you know what? It looks pretty much the same, and I don’t remember ever being born in Kenya.
Only Repubs and others who oppose Obama for whatever reason will see an issue here, but I’m here to tell you it’s a loser. Even the Supreme Court refused to hear this case. It’s interesting, makes for a riveting and compelling blog post — to tell you the truth, I want to do a post about it just to pimp some traffic — but it will get nowhere and will only hurt Republicans in the long run. Stick with attacking Obama on spending and stuff like that.

Wow. Lots of activity and discussion since I was last here.
@SKWGuitar – that was an interesting article – but – nothing new there. How is it that you figure solar and wind are any more environmentally safe? Solar panels are made out of PVC which as also been classified by the IARC as a carcinogen. During the production of PVC they use phthalates to make it malleable to be shaped. Phthalates also have been known to cause testicular dysgenesis in males, hyperthyroidism in males, and has a potential carcinogenic affect (btw – I have a published paper on this already). Secondly, regarding windpower – do you realize the vast amount of land it takes to create a windfarm large enough to provide sufficient electrical power – over 500,000 acres just to power one city. Do you realize the environmental damage that does? Not only that – the windfarms are responsible for killing 100′s of thousands of birds each year. Lastly, where do you think the material comes from to build the towers and turbines – yup – the steel industry. There is no real “safe” alternative energy. It’s just part of that myth that the greenies and global warmongerers perpetrate on the people every day in hopes of instituting a carbon credit ponzi scheme to make themselves rich. Don’t buy in to the hoax. Nothing is truly safe. All you can do is take preventive measures. The fact is oil, coal, and natural gas are still the most efficient resources for our energy production.
denford and smrsstrauss – not much more to add here. Looks like many of my commentors have already done a great job of explaining this whole thing to you. What it boils down to is the fact that he obviously has something to hide if he won’t release the actual vaulted copy. Lastly – the one that was on the Internet was provided to the Daily Kos and factcheck.org by the Obama camp. They never have seen the actual vaulted copy either.
Just wanted to follow up on Jana’s post. The fact is – Obama does, or did, have an Indonesian passport. When he was living and travelling through Africa he did it on his Indonesian passport. The only way to get one is to be an Indonesian citizen. According to Indonesian laws – once a citizen, always a citizen. He would have to had denounced his Indonesian citizenship to become a naturalized citizen as America does not allow dual citizenship either. He hasn’t released these records either.
If he has nothing to hide – and to echo everyone else here – all he has to do is release his records – just as every President before him has had to do (with maybe the exception of the birth certificate as there was ample proof prior Presidents were born and raised in America – which Obama can’t claim).

Answer: Because the State of Hawaii sends out only the Certification of Live Birth. It no longer sends out copies of the original birth certificate. And, try to grasp this, the Certification of Live Birth is a legal document that certifies that the original birth certificate exists and the following details are true. In this case the main detail is that Obama was born in Hawaii.
The Certification is not a complete copy of the original, but it is a legal, certified summary of the original, and it is accepted by all the state agencies (Yes including DHHL) and by the US State Department for issuing passports.
What about the original birth certificate? Certainly, there are original birth certificates, which some people have because they saved it from the time of their birth, but unless they have, the only birth certificate that they can get is the official birth certificate that Hawaii sends out today. THAT turns out to be only the Certification of Live Birth, which is what Obama posted.
So all the questions about why doesn’t he post the long-form birth certificate have two simple answers:
(1) The Certification of Live Birth is THE official birth certificate, it shows that he was born in Hawaii, and it is legally sufficient to prove it; and
(2) Unless he has kept the original birth certificate and not mislaid it, all that he can post is what Hawaii will send him, which is only the Certification of Live Birth, which is what he has already posted.
Now, I suspect you will ask the next logical question, how do I know that Hawaii only sends out the Certification of Live Birth and will NOT send out original birth certificates even if you ask for it? The answer is that I asked them repeatedly, and the answer has always been: “We send out only the Certification of Live Birth.” You can check, by asking your own questions by e-mail at vr-info@doh.hawaii.gov.

Answer. You have to understand, there are people who make money by suing Obama. They have never said, “show us the documents and we will stop suing.” Only one law case was solely about seeing Obama’s birth certificate, the Andy Martin case in Hawaii. All the other cases were about stopping the election or stopping certification. The cases that still exist demand other things from state officials, or raise the issue that Obama would not be president even if he was born in Hawaii (which he was) because of his father’s nationality.
In short, the cases will not go away, even if Obama could get his original birth certificate and show it. (Someone would be certain to claim that it was forged, for sure.)
We have to get our heads around the fact that these are the people who claim that Obama was a citizen of Indonesia, even though all you have to do is call up the Indonesian Embassy in Washington and ask—-They will tell you that he was never a citizen of Indonesia. (Call: (202) 775 – 5200). These are the people who say that Obama’s grandmother said that he was born in Kenya, when you can hear that she said that he was born in Hawaii!

There are quite a few recordings and transcripts that cut the tape at the five minute mark. It is important to go to the full recording, which runs about nine minutes. You might ask yourself why anyone would want to cut the tape at five minutes when the answer to the question WHERE WAS HE BORN is after five minutes. Once again, Hawaii sends out only the Certification of Live Birth. Thus, if Obama has lost or mislaid the original, the Certification is all that he can get. The Certification certifies that the document that exists in the files says that he was born in Hawaii. There is no way under Hawaii law to issue a Certification of Live Birth that says “born in Hawaii” to someone who was not born in Hawaii.
This being the case, IF Obama could get the original vaulted copy, he would be delighted to show it.
I’m not so concerned with this issue. But what if the court does say that he isn’t a citizen? Then we’d be left with who? BIDEN!?! I’m not sure which is worse. lol
I just don’t think this issue has legs and the more we beat at it the less serious our actual concerns about his actions will be taken. He is actively working to destroy the economy. That concerns me MUCH more right now.

First off go to fact check’s website and read the banner across the top of the page. You will see the name “Annenberg.” Google obama and annenberg, see what you find. How you can take anything fact check says about Obama as down the middle truth is beyond me. Slight conflict of interest if you ask me.
Secondly as far as the questions about other Presidents. It has just come to light recently that Chester Arthur was in the same boat as Obama. His father was a subject of Britain when Chester was born. This wasn’t known back then and there is considerable evidence showing Chester covered this all up at the time. Eerily there were also people claiming he was born in another country. This was proven false but whenever asked about when his parents came to the U.S., where they lived in the past, etc. Chester lied repeatedly. Why? Because if the details came out about the timing of his birth and his father’s arrival in the U.S. it would have showed his father was not a U.S. citizen at the time of birth therefore making Arthur ineligible to be President. There are lots more details here concerning the lies told and other evidence.

2 US soldiers think Obama is hiding something. Why he won’t allow the original to be released is beyond me. I think it is a non-issue in fact but not coming forward to address it just leaves the impression that something is not right. My daughter was born in Arizona and I received both the COLB and a copy of her BC. I was told by the state of AZ that the COLB was not a valid document in some cases. So I paid my fee and got several copies of the BC. I am sure Obama can do the same thing.
Now, I completely understand that Hawaii doen’t send out the BC. But, they have to have it on record. He is the President of the United States for God’s sake, I am sure he could get it if he asked for it. If they won’t give it to the POTUS, then since he is being challenged in court, get a court order for the thing!! JUST GET IT OVER WITH!!!!
I agree with you that even if he supplies the certified copy of his BC that some people will still not be satisfied. Well, too bad for them. I will be the first to defend Obama after he provides it.
I also happen to agree with many other here; the BC thing is just one thing of many that Obama looks like he is hiding about his background. Having a foreign born parent, I guess he should have realized this would happen and should be much more open about his past life.

Why didn’t Obama release all those documents? I don’t know. But there is certainly no constitutional requirement that he do.

But he never released his records, and fought (and won) a lawsuit by the Associated Press that demanded that he release those records.
(Which is not to say that Obama should do the same thing, or that not releasing records is a good thing. It only indicates that not releasing records is legal and normal among politicians running for office.)
When a politician does not release records before an election campaign, one can infer that they have embarassing things in them and vote against that politician, which is the course that Bush and Obama followed. Not nice, but not illegal.
Getting back to the birth certificate. Obama did release that. He released the Hawaii Certification of Live Birth, which is the only official birth record that Hawaii issues to people asking for copies of their birth certificate, and it shows that he was born in Honolulu.

Miliatry service is NOT a requirement for being President (ala Bill Clinton). A natural born citizen is a requirement for being President. These two cases do not compare.
Again, I think all who run for President should have to provide documentation as to their qualifications. At a minimum, the qualification should be that which is required to get a Top Secret clearance with all the special accesses the President has. That is the starting point.
If you can not meet the same requrements as EVERYONE else who gets a Top Secret clearance, the you should not be allowed to run for President. No one should get special treatment, not even politicians.
