Hi All – well – here is the next great installment of the carnival.  One term paper and final exam down – one more term paper and final exam to go! You’ll notice we have a huge selection to choose from this week – I’d like to take credit saying this carnival draws that many in a week – but – since I didn’t put up an issue last week for Mother’s Day – this is actually the result of a two-week “soak.”  I want to thank all of you who submitted an article – and to all the readers who continue to come back!

I’m in the process of putting the final touches on my last term paper – so – I haven’t had time to really read through all of these this week.  However, I promise I will get to all of next week’s submissions as I will be done and on break from school next week.

He has been compared to Jimmy Carter and even to GWB. Attitudes are really starting to change when it comes to marijuana these days. It’s very cool to see talk of this going on. At the very least, I’d be happy if people in every state could obtain medical marijuana for illnesses because it really does help so many people.

Thanks Jay. I am still against the making of marijuana legal, but I think by simply reclassifying it will make it the same as any other highly regulated medicine. You can’t sell many medicines legally in back alleys, just like you can’t sell marijuana. So why not make it legal to produce, sell, and tax while still being able to punish those that break the law?

In behalf of The Digerati Life and The Smarter Wallet, I’d like to say a big thanks to including us in your awesome carnival. It’s definitely become one of my favorite carnivals that I look forward to visiting each week. Some interesting points about marijuana — I’m awaiting to see how things turn out for this matter. Not sure where I stand on it yet.

Digerati – all my pleasure as well. I think both of those sites provide some valuable information to the readers here and how to keep a handle on things during these tough economic times.

Regarding the marijuana issue – from a personal standpoint – I’m completely against legalizing it. From a conservative libertarian standpoint – it’s none of the government’s business. I’m conflicted because the side of me that says the constitution doesn’t allow the government to step in to the personal lives of people. The other side of me as a parent who has a stoner kid would hate to see what happens to these kids if it became legal. My stoner kid dropped out of HS at 16. He’s a very bright kid – but – somehow he’s been brainwashed to think that no harm comes from MJ. He can barely form a clear thought any more. I’ve had him in and out of rehab and counseling to no avail and grounding him to his room doesn’t work either. I’ve caught his “friends” passing shit to him through his bedroom window. If it becomes legal – we’re gonna have a helluva lot more stoner kids dropping out and on the streets. I don’t buy in to that argument that its a “victimless crime.” Those who are smoking it ARE the victims.
