More stuff we haven’t been told about!

A big thanks to my friend Jan for letting me know! While I had known some of these facts because I stay tied in to p eople in the military and have other friends with family in Iraq – there is a helluva lot more good going on in Iraq than our Mainstream Media is willing to report. With all of this great stuff happening – why is it that Obamarama Ramalama Dingdong refuses to go see for himself? Do we really want a president who ignores the facts? Check this out:

Did you know that 47 countries’ have reestablished their embassies in Iraq ?

Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi people?

Did you know that

3100 schools have been renovated,

364 schools are under rehabilitation,

263 new schools are now under construction; and 38 new schools have been completed in Iraq?

Did you know that Iraq ‘s higher educational structure consists of 20 Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all currently operating?

Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5 – 100-foot patrol craft,34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know that Iraq ‘ s Air Force consists of three operational squadrons that includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft (under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando Battalion?

Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained and equipped police officers?

Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over 3500 new officers every 8 weeks?

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq?

They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical facilities.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary school by mid October?

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a televised debate recently?

OF COURSE WE DIDN’T KNOW!
WHY DIDN’T WE KNOW?
BECAUSE OUR MEDIA WON’T TELL US!
Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the presidential motorcades. Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive
in Iraq serves two purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world’s perception of the United States thus minimizing consequent support;
and it is intended to discourage American citizens.

Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

Now that you DO KNOW – What are you going to do? Are you going to demand more transparency from your politicians and the main stream media or are you just going to sit back and let it continue to buzz all around you while you sit by clueless? Let others KNOW what you now KNOW!  It’s not just the Democrats and the MSM keeping us out of the loop – it is ALL the politicians including the Republicans.  It’s a freakin’ disgrace how little information we actually do receive!

    I take this two ways.

The first, well, basically is that we have succeeded in Iraq in the sense that we have built it up. It seems from the above information that it has the capability to soon run its own self, and make its own decisions, and be a contributing country in the world. I say good job United States for bettering a country, and good job for Iraq to actually step up to the plate and take the help that we offered.

Second, the success mentioned above means that we could possibly start bringing home some of our troops. We could leave some officials to watch over, and some troops to help out if the enemy starts trying to take over again, but to actually occupy the whole country and control it, that time is over. I do say, continue fighting the terrorist, the ones in which attacked us on our own country, and those who wish to cause this country more harm, but now is the time to break away from the title “War in Iraq” and use “War on Terror”, as the war isn’t just in Iraq, it is all throughout the world.

Also, we must put forth the intense effort that we have in Iraq and do the same job in Afghanistan, you know the country we were in first. Also, we need to quickly go through the ranks and grab Osama, which was are main reason to start fighting in the Middle East. Remember, I didn’t say go kill him, or go find him now. I said go through the ranks. The mission has been out there this whole time, and there were two things stopping us for completing the mission. The first was Iraq, which nows seems we can start dwindle down. The second is the fact that if we killed Osama in the start, there would have been many more terrorist groups that would come out of it. Now that the Taliban and other groups are weakened, it is now time to go in and strike quick and hard to accomplish what we went over there for, the capture of Osama.

I say good job United States military, and thanks to all the servicemen and servicewomen who went to Iraq to help fight off the terrorist, and build this country back up. You are indeed the bravest of us all.

Thanks Bobo for sharing us the good news that’s going on in Iraq. Without your post, I’ll still be one of the uninformed citizens. Thanks to the medias’ affinity to reporting only the bad news and none of the good news. Have a great day.

Bradley – I was really hoping you were more informed than that! First – we never did occupy and control the whole country! The most amount of soldiers we ever had there at one time was 150,000. There are 28 million people living in Iraq. How you can say that a military force the size of less than 1% of the whole population is an occupying force is a misnomer. We can most certainly start drawing down the troops and bringing more home. I do agree that we need to leave some behind at a permanent base. This would be no different than the agreements we have in Europe and Asia. In addition, by keeping a force in Iraq this would help to keep Iran at bay. Also, if you read the Robert’s report you will see there were indeed links to Osama and his Lieutenants to Saddam. Saddam was a financial supporter and encouraged terrorism. Any nation who supports terrorism is an enemy in this war on terror. It wasn’t the Afghanistanis or the Taliban who attacked us. It was Al Qaeda. Al Qaeda has, and did have, training camps all around this globe, including in Iraq. This war on terror truly is Global. We shouldn’t be just concentrating our efforts in Afghanistan either.

Lastly, we have been fighting in Afghanistan. We have the appropriate amount of forces there to handle the insurgents. The thing is, the terrorists have taken their fight to us in Iraq. There are less people fighting our troops in Afghanistan because they’re elsewhere. If we move our troops to Afghanistan, they’ll just follow us there and then we’ll need a troop build up over there as well.

Tashabud – my pleasure! Anything I can do to help out! You have a great day as well.
