Nancy Pelosi and the rest of them Dems are idiots!

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Congress, Democrats, Duh, Eco-terrorists, Liberals, Pelosi, energy, gas

Is anyone else there getting sick and tired of these obstructionist democrats? Today, the President finally got some balls, along with the rest of the Republicans, and announced that he is all for opening up the outer continental shelves (OCS) for offshore drilling as well as stating we should consider drilling for oil in the ANWR as well. FINALLY!!!! Hallelujah!  This makes my BoBo greasepaint smudge from tears of joy!

What is the response from Pelosi? “It sounds like that speech was written by the big oil companies.” What did Senator Bill Nelson from Florida say? “You can’t drill your way out of this crisis.” What is the Democrat response as a whole? “We want to nationalize the oil refineries.”

YOU FREAKIN’ ASSHOLES!! You caused this problem along with the freakin’ eco-terrorists. We are paying $4.00+ for gasoline because you refuse to allow any drilling for any oil or natural gas in this country! You refuse to allow coal to oil plants. You refuse to allow the building of new nuke plants! YOU FREAKIN’ ASSHOLES! While the rest of the whole world is drilling for oil, building nuclear plants, and using coal, and growing their economies – you are stifling our growth and causing economic turmoil all over this country!

YOU FREAKIN’ ASSHOLES! are the reason why the costs for all foods and all other consumer products are increasing! Your stupid-assed idea to use our food supply as fuel has caused this problem. Your slack-assed half-brained ideas that by taxing big oil companies even more and causing the price of oil and gas to rise has caused the transportation, delivery, and distribution systems to increase their costs which gets passed down to we the people as consumers!!

The latest Rasmussen poll clearly states that ONLY 18% of this country is against drilling! 67% are for drilling and the other 15% remain unsure. Regardless – that means that 82% of this country are NOT opposed to using every means possible to become energy independent! But – Nooooo – YOU FREAKIN’ ASSHOLES have to be obstructionists all the way! We have more oil and natural gas reserves in this country than all of OPEC put together! We have enough oil and natural gas reserves in this country to be COMPLETELY 100% energy independent! But – noooo – you have to listen to the freakin’ eco-terrorists and side with them! WE are the higher species on this planet! We have the technology to drill and replace the land back to where it was before we drilled completely leaving the ecology undisturbed. Who gives a flying frak about the spotted owl, pygmy caribou, bobcats, and baby seals when people in this country can’t afford to feed their families because the price of food has risen dramatically! People are taking money from their food budget to pay for gas just to get to work and make a living to put less food on the table! And why? Because you idiot Democratic obstructionists in D.C.!

ASSHOLES!

UPDATE: From American Solutions – note there are no Democrats!!!

Representative Lynn Westmoreland is circulating a pledge in the House related to using more domestic energy resources.

Here’s the text of the pledge:

I will vote to increase U.S. oil production to lower gas prices for Americans.

Here are the Representatives who have signed so far:

Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.)
Tom Price (R-Ga.)
Paul Broun (R-Ga.)
Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.)
Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
Wally Herger (R-Calif.)
George Radanovich (R-Calif.)
Pat Tiberi (R-Ohio)
Mike Conaway (R-Texas)
John Culberson (R-Texas)
Tom Reynolds (R-NY)
Greg Walden (R-Ore.)
Bill Shuster (R-Pa.)
Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.)
Dan Burton (R-Ind.)
Judy Biggert (R-Ill.)
Tom Feeney (R-Fla.)
Tom Latham (R-Iowa)
Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.)
Sam Graves (R-Missouri)

If your Representative is not on the the list, give them a call and encourage them to sign Rep. Westmoreland’s pledge to increase U.S. oil production.

UPDATE UPDATE: Ever hear about that thing called “Peak Oil?”  This is the theory that once you hit the “peak” of the maximum amount of oil that can be extracted in one day, everything there is downhill and the reserves begin to dwindle quickly thereafter.  Many of those eco-terrorists and dummicrats out there are saying that we’ve hit it already.  Well – for excellent commentary and links to excellent sources who denounce this theory go check out what our friend Collin Williams has written:  Peak Oil is a Myth

This is a must read!

I was watching some of the liberal Democrats defend their position against drilling on c-span and Larry Kudlow today: Pathetic. Here’s one of their talking points (garnered from their Environmentalist masters): The oil companies have thousands of leases in the Gulf (where they are allowed to drill) and places inland that they are not taking advantage of—that they are “hoarding” oil—-and that this is a tactic to make gas prices high. Of course, what they fail to mention is that once an oil company has a lease, they need to apply for a permit to drill. Here is where the environmental groups come in—they frustrate the permit process for YEARS through litigation and lawsuits. Their tactic is to essentially choke off as much production as possible and then claim any rise in the cost of gas as market manipulation by oil companies.
I’ve said this before and I will say it again: This country has, for the past 30 years, been committing energy suicide by letting environmental groups dictate our energy policy. For the next 6-8 years, Americans are going to see quite a rise in energy costs across the board. And if Democrats succeed in killing production yet again, we will see prices rise and stay high for generations. My 2 cents.

The freaking asshole republicans had control of the White House and congress for six years and preferred to support their Arab friends rather than allow off-shore drilling. Curse them.

  3. The BoBoNo Gravatar Says:

Not only that, Wil, but what they also have failed to inform the general public about these leases is that many of them cannot be drilled because there is no oil in them. The government makes these oil companies purchase these leases before they are allowed to survey them. The company geologists then survey, find there’s nothing in there, and now the big oil companies are stuck with these leases that they can’t do anything with..and…who pays the cost for those non-productive leases? We the people do as a pass through expense. It’s just another scam by the government and something they don’t want everyone to know about.

Your 2 cents in today’s economy unfortunately is only worth about .5, but..in my book, its worth a lot more than that! ;)

Cyrious – I support that argument 100% – there is no excuse at all! That’s why I started this post with the fact that the Republicans finally have the balls to do something about it! Believe me, I get it, it’s not only the Dem’s fault. But, its a Dem majority now! Hell – Bush 41 continued the moratorium when he was in office.

But – it wasn’t because of their “Arab” friends. You guys on the left need to get off that bandwagon. It was all about politics and kowtowing to the eco-terrorists in this country. The biggest threat to this country and this economy is socialist left thinking environuts – not the Arab oil countries. We only get about 25% of our oil from the Arab countries. The other 75% come from Mexico and Canada – so – your argument doesn’t wash there!

Still – I agree that the Republicans are just as much to blame for all this as are the Dems. BTW – I’m not a Republican!

Of course we know that the Republicans are doing this for no other reason than political expediency but still….

I don’t care what their motive is so long as they’re coming around to my way of thinking. And, on this issue it is a no brainer.

Anyways, I think this is excellent. I hope they can actually get something started quickly and get the passed so we can begin to drill and lower energy prices, as it is killing everyone and everything. This green scam that is going on is messing with politics so much it is not even funny. And I know what the Democrats are doing, they seen these people slowly start to rise, and quickly hopped on with them to win some votes. Well, it turns out it worked, but it made the country worse off than it was.

I am glad to see my Representative on the list.

Bradley – thanks a lot for updating this post with the rest of the list! That is good news. Now, we just need to see more Dems sign on as well. I would also like to see something similar from the Senate side. This could pass in the house and die in the Senate. My local Reps are on there as well!

We could pull oil out of the ground until we (and every other living thing on the planet) are covered in it, but it isn’t going to do us a whole lot of good unless the oil companies start investing some of their obscene profits into building refineries to convert the stuff into something we can actually make use of. That would mean that a few oil company executives would have to give up a bit of their annual bonuses, though, and that is not likely to happen.

The real funny part of this whole thing is that every single “representative” in your list knows this, as does Mr. Bush and Mr. McCain. It sound kinda neat, though, to say those damn Democrats are at fault. Given that the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress during the first six years of Mr. Bush’s so-called presidency, I can’t help but wonder why they didn’t do something about this then. I guess maybe it just wasn’t prudent at that time, eh?

I wish you folks would wake up and realize that the internal combustion engine is the last vegstigal remain of the Industrial Revolution, and that it must be sent to the bone yard and a real electric engine developed. As it is now that research is in private and University hands. When it is completed the questions that will have to be answered are: (1) Will we have prepared to transition out of our oil gulping gas guzzling system so there there will not be major temporary economic displacement, (2) Will the oil companies stand in thee way to the tune of permitting the engine to go on the auction block to a foreign nation, because at the moment it is unveiled we stand to restore this nation to true economic power. We will have the engine to the future, or we can give it away and give way to the chaos that will follow the oil industry attempting to continue to operate in their current blood letting profit sucking screw everyone mode.

Get outside of the Box, others are there already, ready to take hold of the future. Just imagine George Soros jumping in to fund the final steps of research and development. The pace would quicken and the product will come before the media and the oil companies are willing to even say the words “electric engine”! The research is modern in technology bearing no resemblance to older shelved “by Detroit” designs. Wake Up rather than drill another money hole for the Oil Companies that won’t make a penny difference at the pump. The price has been driven by “futures speculation” more than any other element and our government is either unwilling or powerless to do anything to control that speculation. Get your heads out of the sand and your blind folk mentality.

I forget. The entire premise of this original post is total hog wash. The Congress can’t do a damn thing but permit more ridiculous drilling for the sole profit of the oil companies. The hybrid “Hype” car should be viewed as merely transitional. A paradigm shift must take place. Only small minds entertain the idea of drilling more big holes!

Wow! Ed, great one! You must be the only person in this country to come up with that idea! So – just what is your proposal in the meantime while we are waiting for this great invention – what did you call it? – the electric engine – to become mainstream, efficient, and actually goes more than 5 mph? OH – and where is this electricity supposed to come from that powers this electric engine?

Wake up, Ed! Oil is used for a helluva lot more than just fueling our automobiles. Not only is it used for powering our automobiles, it is also used to power our homes, power the manufacturers of every consumer good you can imagine, plus it is used to make plastics which is in what – oh – about 99% of everything!

Yes – we want to drill for the oil to bring down gas prices – but – it also helps make us entirely energy independent while we are looking at alternatives. Personally, I would prefer a hydrogen powered car over an electric car any day. It’s not big oil that’s the problem here – it’s wrong thinking individuals such as yourself and Congress that are obstructing progress in this country.

And – who is making the profits off oil – the oil companies at 4% or the government at 16% per dollar? You need to stop being a sheep to the leftists and dems and start getting educated about what is really happening here – it’s the government trying to socialize every aspect of our lives and controlling it. Only small minds let the government run their lives!

Ed, you should stop parroting everything your environmentalist masters tell you and use some independent thinking. Some of us understand that it has long been a strategy of brain washed environmentalists like you to constrict domestic oil supplies (and Nuclear power construction) in order to drive up the cost energy—in the utopian belief that this will force the advent of the massive use of solar panels, electric cars, and bio-fuels. But, it hasn’t gone exactly as planned, has it? The white whale known as the Electric car is still FAR, FAR from mass deployment even after decades of R&D and billions of dollars (much of it tax dollars) of investment. And since it hasn’t worked out, you and those like you blame the usual bogey men—big oil or some aspect of free-market capitalism you don’t understand.
Ed, I hate to break it to you but technological breakthroughs don’t need you or environmentalists to usher them along. They will happen on their own just like countless of other inventions have since the beginning of history. In the interim and until those technologies are developed, Americans and their families shouldn’t have to bear high energy prices just because you have an messianic itch on your ass to “save” the world.

And..to follow on to Vulcan’s comments – in case you did not know it – our automotive manufacturers already do have the technology available. Brazil has GM manufactured auto’s that get 50 miles to the gallon. Venezuela has GM manufactured hydrogen powered autos. So – why don’t we have them here? Because the government restrictions placed on the manufacturing process and standards prohibits them from being built and sold here in the good ol’ U.S. of A. The Dems are beholden to enviro-freaks like you guys so they obstruct everything that might be good for this country.
