Palin’s Resignation is Brilliant! – Updated

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Conservative, Democrats, Liberals, McCain, Media Bias, Obama, Palin, Politics, Republicans, government

I decided to take the weekend to think her resignation through before I commented on it.  After lots of thought about it – it’s brilliant!  Sarah Palin has put herself out there as a Conservative first – Republican second.  Sure – she might still be one of those Republitards – but – her resignation has just solidified her standing as a Fiscal Conservative.

She has proven that she is thinking about the taxpayers of Alaska by stepping aside.  Those idiots on the left have been coming after her ever since her nomination as the VP elect – then they really stepped over the line and went after her teenage daughter and her handicapped child.  They have no shame.  In addition, they continue to file frivolous ethics charges against her that continue to be overturned.  She has spent millions of Alaskan taxpayer money defending herself in addition to being away from her office to answer to these charges.

Other than showing what a fiscal conservative she is – now that she has stepped down – she has control of the reigns now.  She can now step out in to the spotlight and let those idiots on the left really have it.  She can actually defend herself without having to worry about it reflecting on her as the Governor, nor does she have to worry about wasting taxpayer money.

Unlike Obama, Biden, McCain, and Hillary – who all campaigned for 18 months – all drawing a full paycheck and benefits from we the taxpayers without performing the jobs they were hired to do – this frees Palin up and does not provide any fodder for those idiots on the left.

In response to their charges that she quit – umm – really?  Why are they not holding Obama, Biden, Clinton, Emmanuel, Sebellius, & Napolitano to the same standard?  Did they not all quit their jobs that they were elected to?  In fact, both Biden and Emmanuel had just been re-elected to their positions.  What is the difference?  Every one of them “turned their backs on their constituents” also.  That’s just another lame excuse from the loony left.  I personally believe they are scared to death of Palin.  She recently had 20,000 people come to meet her at a parade.  There are only 26,000 people in that town.  Meanwhile, Biden goes out on a townhall tour and only 100 people out of a population of 103,000 showed up.

Palin has charisma and can attract conservatives from all around the country – Republican, Democrat, and Independents alike.  She scares the hell out of not only the Democraps, but the Republitards as well. I stand behind her decision to resign to take on a national presence.  Go Get Em, Sarah!

UPDATE! – Looks like I’m not the only one – Atlas Shrugs Vlogs Sarah Palin – and – seems she and I are on the same mindlink.  I’m in good company!

A brief discussion regarding Palin’s decision to resign from office. Probably a brilliant move on her part. We shouldn’t count her out of politics….

You know I look at Sarah Palin’s resignation much in the same way I see the former Miss California losing her crown; the left can now move on to something else and begin terrorizing someone new. Both of those women have suffered greatly at the hands and tongues of the left. Maybe both will get some rest for a while.
As to Palin’s future, I think it looks bright. She is now free to go after the left and Obama and not have to worry about any negative consequences from the liberal media or the Obama administration. Even if she decides not to run for president, she can hit the left really hard and hold their feet to the fire. She is going to get press coverage regardless of the fact she will not longer be in office.
I wish Sarah Palin all the best and I hope she takes the gloves off and beats the hell out of the left.
Bobo, you are absolutely correct about the double standard she is being held to about leaving office.

I  do think Sarah’s strategy will bear fruit and I do not understand all the hand wringing about her exit from the Governors seat.  I think she will position herself as a leader for the conservative cause.  Time will tell all!

@Steve – Casey – I agree with the both of you.  I believe her resignation does just that – it frees her up to really be able to defend herself and to make a huge impact with conservatives at a national level without anything to hold her back.  I hope she runs in 2012.

Bobo, you are so way out on this one. Most of your articles usually retain some merit. But this one is NDFENCE-ABLE. Unlike those politicians you named as quitters, Palin isn’t running for anything and hasn’t won any elected position for which she is quitting her present one. She has 2 1/2 years experience managing Alaska, has been saddled with allegations, and hasn’t done that effective of a job by all accounts. The allegations of abuse of power and other misdeeds have not all been orchestrated by those on the left as you claim. If Palin is the best Conservatives have to offer, you guys are in deep trouble. She scares no one on the left and spends way too much time defending herself from missteps. The national stage is going to finish her off. We all got a good look at her during the last election in which she made a complete idiot out of herself.

Her resignation was a statement that she does not take ethics seriously. It would have been far more ethical for her to at least complete the term to which Alaskan voters deemed her appropriate. Leaving as she did left her short in the responsibility department.

Seriously NDEFENCE and AskCherlock?  How is it not unethical for Obama, McCain, Biden, Shillary, and Rahm Emmanuel to use taxpayer money to run for higher office and then for all of the above except for McCain to quit the positions they were elected to to move on to another job?  Likewise with Sebellius and Napolitano – especially for them since neither of them were running for another office – they were selected.  How is it unethical for Palin but not for any of those nutjobs that are now destroying our country bit by bit?  You guys on the left and your double standards are just further evidence of the decay of what was once a great country.

As for her accomplishments?  Are you kidding me?  She has accomplished more in her 2 1/2 years than any other governor in any other state ever has.  http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2073551/posts
Other than Texas – Alaska is the only other state in this country that is not in any financial trouble and is in fact showing growth in that state – all as a result of her accomplishments.  You guys kill me.  She is the epitome of a true conservative and has proven what conservative principles can do.  While that idiot Obama is destroying this country through all this tax and spend and increasing the deficit 4 times from what he took over – Palin has increased the revenues to her state by reducing taxes and reducing spending and has brought more business in her state.  Teh One is gonna drive business out of our country and no one will invest in our country either.  But – I guess you boneheads on the left want to live in a third world country where no one can advance.  Me – I will never let that happen.  And..apparently, neither will Palin.  You guys are in for the shock of your lives.  She has more support than any other conservative in this country right now and her popularity rating is on the rise http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jul/07/sarah-agonistes/ whereas Obamas on plunging http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/obama_rasmussen_poll/2009/06/30/230686.html?s=al&promo_code=8287-1

To echo some of the other comments: Sarah Palin is not moving into another position — elected, nominated, selected or otherwise. There is a huge difference here. Once is the epitome of the American system — moving upward to more responsibility and, yes, power. The other is simply quitting.  Didn’t your mother ever tell you not to quit your job until you’d found another? Soon-to-be-ex-Governor Palin seems to be putting “nothing” rather than something better ahead of her soon-to-be-ex job.

“She scares the hell out of not only the Democraps, but the Republitards as well”But I don’t think it’s because of her views. I think people look at Palin and see Fey. They see her shooting wolves out of planes. They hear “don’cha’know” and “you becha.”I think a lot of people think she’s a wackjob, personally before professionally.

@Pockmark – and others – apparently, you really don’t get the point. Naturally, I wouldn’t expect liberals to understand since you only know how to spend other people’s money. The GOP has been a lost cause for a long time. She has proven to fiscal conservatives that she has principles and is truly a fiscal conservative. Like I said, you wouldn’t understand, and until liberals learn how to give of their own rather than give other’s people’s money – you never will. Lastly, that article you linked to Pockmark – seriously? You don’t see the same phenomenon with Obama and the sheeple? He’s put this country on the fast-track to disaster. The train is ready to go over the cliff – yet – you all are betting on the engineer to stop it. He isn’t – he’s speeding it up.

BoBo is being a witless contrarian to set himself apart from the common herd of sane people.Palin is a trainwreck.  The only people who could disagree are the ones who ONLY see the world in terms of liberals and conservatives.  The liberals don’t like her, therefor she must be a good thing.  But she’s not.  She came out of nowhere in 2008 and gave 1 good speech someone else wrote at the republican convention.  Then she did so poorly in a series of interviews that she was kept from the national spotlight towards the end of the campaign.  Most people remember this, whether or not the self identify as a fiscal conservative.  Now she’s jumped the political shark.  Not only did she resign in the most awkward way possible (did she just get back from a jog before she gave her resignation speech?) she said the very next day she wasn’t a “quitter” she was a “fighter”.  Fighters never quit, and she quit.  I just want to address 3 points.  First, you said she resigned with the taxpayers of Alaska in mind.  Have you stopped to consider how that move may cost the taxpayers of Alaska?Second, I don’t really like seeing children attacked for political purposes.  But I also don’t like seeing children used as political props.  This is something the left does just as much as the right, and it’s really thoughtless.  If you campaign on the idea that your a great mother/father and that you have family values, then don’t get upset when people start taking pot shots at your family.  Finally, you said this is a brilliant move, which I find odd.  She hasn’t really explained her reason for resigning, or what she plans to do next.  So if you don’t know the reason or the intent, how can you say it’s a brilliant decision?  I don’t really understand how you can claim a decision is brilliant when the person making the decision hasn’t explain their reasoning behind the decision, or what they intend to do now that the decision has been made.  It’s this lack of consideration that makes me believe if Sarah Palin had announced she’s going to Mars to look for Oil, you’d have thought THAT was a brilliant idea.  ~PockPs.  The new look is cool.  Less circus, more sinister.

@Pockmark – first – I was one of the very few who knew and was following Palin well before McCain even started considering her.  Unfortunately, the McCain campaign kept her under wraps and she was never able to say and do what she wanted to.  She looked uncomfortable in those interviews because the McCain camp had her muzzled and scripted.  I saw many interviews and heard her on radio well before she was tapped as McCain’s running mate.  When she’s allowed to be herself – you get to see who she really is.  What McCain presented to America was not Sarah Palin – and – it’s no wonder they lost.
I am not, and never have been, a follower.  I like this woman and believe in her because I’ve seen her in action.  For true conservatives, this was a great move on her part. That is why I say it is a brilliant move – she just increased her base conservative supporters. This is what the GOP doesn’t get because they no longer are conservatives.  That will be their downfall as evidenced in the latest polls that shows her popularity has increased.  While you guys believe her speech was just rambling and incoherent – its because you wanted to see it that way.  She pretty much outlined what her next steps are without actually stating what they are.  I know she will be on a national level after July 26th – and I’m looking forward to it.  I don’t think it will be a run in 2012 – but – I do know she is smart enough not to leave a job without having another one to go to.  Stay tuned!
Thanks for the compliment on the new look.  I think I’m keepin it.  Hope to see you come by here more often.

Bobo, your faith in Palin may be misguided. Only time will tell. If the McCain camp could muzzle her that much without her being able to “be herself”, then she should have quit on priciples. I agree with other commenters that she is a quitter, has little credentials, and provides great fodder for late night TV. She is a terrible interviewee and on the national stage, she is going to get ripped by the media.

@ndfence – since when did “credentials” matter to you guys?  You voted in someone with absolutely ZERO credentials.  Palin had 10 years executive experience as a Mayor and Governor.  She accomplished more in 2.5 years as the Governor than Obama has in his entire life.  The problem is that you guys on the left are scard of what she can and will accomplish now that she’s not tethered to the Governor’s office.  She has more support among Conservatives and Independents than anybody else right now.  My support is not misguided.  As I stated, I saw this woman before she was thrown to the wolves by the McCain camp.  She was trying to play politics at the national level – a level she didn’t have experience with.  Now that she does, and she has learned, you are going to see something different.  A stronger Palin than you guys ever realized she was capable of.
