Taking a break from the political scene momentarily to let everyone know that I have joined the American Cancer Society this year to walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. In past I’ve only had an opportunity to donate – this year I’m doing both. Please help me out by donating whatever you can to help further research in to breast cancer, provide awareness, and education about this disease.
Here are just some of the facts regarding the ACS Making Strides Campaign and Breast Cancer
Dollars raised through the Making Strides events help the American Cancer Society save lives by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures, and fighting back. To learn more about Making Strides and how participants are helping save lives, visit
cancer.org/stridesonline.
More than 3 million volunteers help the American Cancer Society save lives in communities across the country. These dedicated people donate their time and talents to help people stay well by educating the public about taking steps to prevent cancer or detect it early; help people get well with hands-on support and services for patients and their loved ones through every step of the cancer experience; and fight back by rallying their communities and advocating for responsible cancer policies at the local, state, and federal level. To learn how you can join the Society in the fight against cancer, visit
cancer.org.
In 2008, 182,460 women in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and about 40,930 women are expected to die from the disease. About 1,990 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Learn how to fight back at
www.acscan.org/makingstrides
More than 11 million Americans who have a history of cancer will celebrate another birthday this year. The American Cancer Society knows how special a birthday can be: a celebration of life, a marker of progress. Join us, and together we’ll save more lives and help everyone celebrate more birthdays. Find out more at 1-800-227-2345 or
cancer.org.
My personal goal this year is to raise $500 in just 30 days. I’ve already put in $50 – so I’m 10% of the way already. I know I have enough generous readers out there that would be willing to help and contribute in this endeavor. You can go to my personal page BoBo Saves The TaTas and make your donation there. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you all in advance for your help.

I lost my mother, 4 aunts, 2 uncles, 2 cousins from cancer. Two of my 1st cousins are currently going through Chemo. One with a brain tumor, the other w/breast cancer. This is a wonderful organization to donate to. I donate to our local & state campaigns to raise money.
There is also a Website called “CaringBridge.com” who is a source for communication with those who have life threatening illnesses. My cousin has her journal on CaringBridge and her friends & family are able to keep up with her current status & communicate with her through email on the site. It’s a way to give her support & it helps her to know how many of her friends and loved ones are praying for her and care about her recovery. Check it out.
