Hey, P-BO- make a damned decision already!

Last year I put up this post:
Support Our Troop! BRING THEM HOME!
That post was about the idiocy of those left-wing nutjobs using that slogan. It was about how such slogans actually are detrimental to our service members and to the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. When these wars in Iraq and Afghanistan broke out, I fully supported them – 100%. I am still in support of the mission – to kill the damned terrorists and pay retribution for the thousands of lives lost on 9/11. However, my patience has worn very thin over the past few months.
It was reported that in August General McCrystal sent a request to Obama for an additional 40,000 troops in Afghanistan. That extra 40,000 troops would be needed in order to complete a successful mission – one that would mean victory in Afghanistan. One that would help to re-stabilize the region again so that the Afghanistan government could take over security as we did in Iraq.
Instead – P-BO has sat on that report for 3 months now. He only just this week sat down with his security council on Afghanistan – and – he rejected every single proposal out there – including sending more troops. Let’s face it – P-BO is indecisive. He can’t make the tough decisions. In the time that the request was first made 43 American soldiers have died in Afghanistan waiting for Obama to make a freakin’ decision. That is almost 15 per month.
I am now at a point myself where I am ready to say – Bring Them Home! Damn it – either give the generals – who actually know how to fight and win a war – all the troops, equipment, and support necessary to win this war and bring our soldiers home in victory – or – just call it quits and bring them all home before more of them die senseless deaths because Obama refuses to make a decision – a hard decision.
The bullshit response coming from the White House and Obama is “Obama won’t be rushed on Afghanistan war.“ What the fuck man? You campaigned on changing the strategy to focus the efforts from Iraq to Afghanistan. You’ve been in office for 10 months now. You hand-picked and placed McCrystal in there yourself about 5 months ago. What the fuck does this even mean – you won’t be rushed? How much longer do you need in order to make a decision – one that every day you wait – more Americans are being killed on the battlefield because you won’t follow the advise of the man you chose to assess the situation and make a recommendation? He gave you that recommendation 3 months ago!!!!
Do you not understand what kind of message this indecisiveness is sending to the rest of the world? That message is – America is weak – and the President is even weaker.
For crying out loud man, either give the general what he needs to win – or Bring Our Troops Home. Quit playing politics with the lives of our service members. You alone are turning the Afghanistan war in to another Viet Nam debacle.

Remember when Joe Biden said “this man is going to be tested…within 6 months after taking office…and I don’t know what his decision will be…but we will need the country’s support…” Well he has shown he can’t make a decision, and in war that spells disaster. There is no perfect solution and Obama has no gut instinct. The liberal game plan will go into action…timetables and benchmarks. It’s no way to run a war and his ego is being placed before the troops. He can’t stand the possibility that he will be held accountable for a bad decision. Therefore there is no decision. Last October was the worst month ever for casualties in Afghanistan. That’s on Obama’s watch. It’s not Bush’s war anymore President Obama, it’s yours and your troops want to win. No doubt – and this only gives more strength to our enemies and emboldens them – including Iran, China, & Russia. P-BO is a freakin’ disaster. Those voters with “weapons grade stupidity” that put Obama in should have heeded Biden’s words – he was absolutely correct. Once again – P-BO failed this test.

If we do not send them or we just come home, then the question that has to be asked is what did all those men and women die for in the first place? We will dishonor those who died. The American people should demand victory in Afghanistan first, then Iraq!! Btw, “weapons grade stupidity” is not a phrase I made up. I took it from a comment posted on a news story I read about five minutes ago. I like the phrase so much I had to use it. It was used to discribe those who are blind supporters of Obama. Feel free to use it.

Thanks for bringing “Weapons Grade Stupidity” to my attention. I like it and will save for future use.
If Obama’s decision on this trial is any reflection on his decision making ability then you have to have a bad feeling about what he will do in Afghanistan. More “weapons grade stupidity.”

I DO have a very bad feeling about this. I don’t think he is capable of making a decision much less the right decision. When this is all said and done, I just have a feeling we are going to be asking ourselves why did we even start this if we were not going to WIN it.

Same here Steve – Like I said in the post – he campaigned on changing strategy in Afghanistan – over a year ago – it should NEVER take this long to make a military decision. The longer he delays – the more our troops are in harm’s way. At this point, no matter his decision – it’s gonna be a disaster.

But, I don’t care where it is, if you decide to use the military, it should be overwhelming force and in it to WIN it! Anything less is a disaster!! That goes for Bush and Obama or any President. McCrystal is asking for more troops and Obama should have already granted his request. I sure hope there is no one left in the military (or in America) who will vote for this guy in 2012. He is getting our men and women killed!!

He’s getting them killed now due to his inaction, and I have to assume that any strategy he does pick will be foolish and liberal do-goodery. That, of course, will get even more of them killed.

Matt – that’s where I’m at right now. I want to give them a chance to come home victorious, but – this sitting and waiting by P-BO is indeed getting them killed. Like I said to Stunatra up there – I am really beginning to lean heavily to just bringing them home and saving lives and money.
