And..the attacks on Christmas begin!
Posted by: The BoBo // Category: Anti-Christian, Christian, Holiday, advertiseGiven that only 3% of the population consider themselves as atheist or non-religious – why the hell is this small minority allowed to dictate how the rest of the country celebrates the religious holidays? Thanksgiving is a religious-based holiday – it is a day when we give thanks to God for the bounties that He has given us. Christmas is a religious holiday in that this is the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Sure, I get the fact that our religious holidays have been commercialized – however – the fact remains these are indeed religious holidays and many of us celebrate these holidays as such. What prompted this post? This idiotic article:
Ho, Ho,…Whoa! Secularists Get The Holiday Spirit
This is a VERY misleading headline. It is a story about how “secularists” are attempting to get in to the “Christmas spirit” by placing ads all over the place with the following slogan “No God?…No Problem!” While the article attempts to make this look like something good – again – this is a veiled threat and attempt to take God out of our religious holidays. Here is the ad:
Here’s what it says in the article:
The AHA is billing the ad campaign as “a new kind of holiday tradition” and says the ads will run on trains and buses in Washington, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The “Godless Holiday” pitch kicks off in Washington over the Thanksgiving weekend with banners inside 200 buses and on the outside of 20 more, and in 50 metro cars. It will then ramp up in early December, along with the rest of the holiday rush.
I highlighted that section up there. The idea is still to take God out of the holidays. It is not an attempt to try to get along as they seem to be trying to say. They think they’re being smart and that we won’t see what their real agenda is. The fact of the matter is this is still an attack against Christianity no matter how you put it. Don’t let them fool you – they still hate you for being a Christian and they think the Constitution says Freedom FROM religion.
Read the whole article yourselves and leave me your thoughts on this.
UPDATE – this is not related to the main topic – but – it is related to propaganda – check this out from Stunatra’s blog – talk about sinking to new lows in this healthcare debate.

This stuff annoys the hell out of me! Christmas is a religious holiday. PERIOD. Why try to make it anything different?
Is it really being shoved down their throats? Boo Hoo you see a Christmas tree. Are we more religious now? NO, so don’t say it is ruining the country

You have to be kidding me. I am growing very tired of the humanist and others who think that we have to strip God out of everything.

An email I received. Sorry about the length.
When all through our land,
Not a Christian was praying
Nor taking a stand.
See the PC Police had taken away,
The reason for Christmas – no one could say.
The children were told by their schools not to sing,
About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.
It might hurt people’s feelings, the teachers would say
December 25th is just a ‘ Holiday ‘.
Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit
Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!
CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod
Something was changing, something quite odd!
Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa
In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.
As Targets were hanging their trees upside down
At Lowe’s the word Christmas – was no where to be found.
At K-Mart and Staples and Penny’s and Sears
You won’t hear the word Christmas; it won’t touch your ears.
Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty
Are words that were used to intimidate me.
Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen
On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !
At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter
To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.
And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith
Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace
The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded
The reason for the season, stopped before it started.
So as you celebrate ‘Winter Break’ under your ‘Dream Tree’
Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.
Choose your words carefully, choose what you say
Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , not Happy Holiday !
Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone you meet during the holidays a MERRY CHRISTMAS Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mass Season!

I don’t know that they are trying to attack Christmas per se. They are wearing a Santa hat, granted, however Santa is not really Christian. I would have an issue if they said Christmas was bad or religion was bad or some such thing. I don’t find the ad offensive in any way.
I think this type of thing is very different from people trying to get rid of Christmas displays, etc…
And whether they represent 3% or 97% of the population doesn’t change my opinion.
Now would this organization do this around Muslim holy days? That is a worthy question.

@HP – you might want to actually read the full article. They want a “Godless holiday.” I’m sorry – but – Thanksgiving and Christmas are religious holidays and you CAN’T take God out of it no matter what they want. Like I said – this is just a veiled attempt rather than coming right out and saying it. I guess they fooled you too – either that – or you don’t see these holidays as the religious celebrations that they are.

As somebody who believes in a higher power, but is not religious, I don’t feel threatened at all by the ad campaign. In fact, the ultimate message is a positive one: Be good for goodness sake. Maybe I’d feel different though if I were a practicing Christian, but I doubt it.I think Harrison has hit the nail square on the head. Would this campaign be widely accepted by the mainstream press if it were based around the Muslim holy days? I suspect it would not.

They can not take away what is in your heart! Nor what you teach your children and grand children at home.God’s word says the world will wax worst and worst. Just stand up for what you believe, speak with boldness without fear because God is there for us all.

Thanks for the poem. I wish every Christian would read it and we could get Christ back in CHRISTmas as it was 40 years ago.

They do not care about what we think. They have changed and
continue to change the views of the youth. This has been working for the past 25 years by attacking Christians in the media, Hollywood, cable, etc. If you do not think it is working for the progressives and liberals, just remember the Democrats, and Obama had and continue to have overwhelming support from the 18 – 30 age group. The radicals do not care if anyone over 30 can be swayed. What we think is irrelevant. Their plan to control the young people from middle grade to higher education has worked and will continue to work because we are not focusing on how and why they are so successful. It is not us stupid; it is our kids and grandkids they are after.

Looking at their website the campaign seems to be getting the message out that you don’t need to believe in a god to be a good person. I don’t see anything on their site to show they want to supplant Christmas or end religion.
After all, Christmas takes place when it does because the Winter Solstice is on the 21st just as the Christmas tree is a pagan symbol and Santa Claus… well I know in Holland they have him and his helper “Black Pete” but I don’t think that would play too well in the states.
Maybe they are running a stealth campaign to kill religion but they say on their site it is to appeal to people who don’t believe in a god and to get them to join with them. I see no harm in that.

BEST BUY DITCHES CHRISTMAS BUT CELEBRATES MUSLIM HOLIDAY IN FLIERS
Will Christmas caroling be replaced with Fa hala alla caroling? “Over the river and through the woods to bomb infidels we go. Muhammad knows the way and just who to slay, as over the hills we go.”and don’t forget that other holiday favorite- “Deck the infidels with bomb of plenty, Fa hala hala, hala hala……Tis the season to kill many Fa hala hala, hala hala……”
