Yes, America. The Public Option is STILL in the bill!

Despite what you might be hearing from the main stream media idiots these days regarding the behind closed doors meeting between liberal democrats and moderate democrats – the public option is still in the senate version of the health care bill.
The deal also keeps the public option as a fallback plan, to be “triggered” if the health care legislation, including the new national plans, fails to meet targets for providing affordable insurance coverage to a set number of people.
In fact, it might actually be worse than a public option.
The standards set in this version of the bill will most definitely set off this public option “trigger.” It appears to be specifically designed to do that. No private insurer will ever attempt to provide the government run insurance plan under the mandates stipulated. For starters, private insurance companies are not allowed to make a profit. There is a requirement that $0.90 of every $1 has to be paid out in insurance benefits. That leaves just 10% for G&A and Overhead. Anyone who has ever run a business, taken business or finance classes, or has a degree in business management knows that is impossible. G&A and Overhead in your average company runs at between 12 – 15% and that is usually when a company is running at peak performance.
The idea that a private business is not allowed to make a profit also shows just how stupid they are (or smart they are knowing it will trigger the public option) in that profits are used to reinvest in the company, pay out employee bonuses, and held in reserves for future growth. Profits are not bad. Profits is what makes this country grow. This just shows how biased against capitalism these boneheads really are.
The other part of this is that the public option is triggered if private insurance companies do not provide the services in an “acceptable” manner. It is entirely up to the government to determine what is “acceptable.” In other words – no matter how the insurance company performs – it will never be “acceptable” ergo – the public option gets triggered.
Here’s the deal people – we know that they want everyone with pre-existing conditions to be covered. We know they want all premiums to be level amounts and not gender specific – which we all know it costs more to cover women than men simply due to the very broad medical issues that women have that men do not. Since the government will dictate what the premium to be charged will be without using sound underwriting practices and forcing private insurance companies to maintain G&A and Overhead at an impossible 10% and make no profit at all – these provisions alone will cause even the most efficient private health insurer to default.
This is a shell game people – don’t buy in to it. Nothing about this bill should pass. We cannot allow this bill to pass at all. The only thing this bill does is expand government and place a humongous structure in place that would be irreversible. They don’t care what is in the bill – they just know they need to get a structure in place for a single-payor system – which is exactly what this bill does. With all these distractions – they are hoping you aren’t paying attention to the man behind the curtain.
One last thought – if private insurance companies are so evil, inefficient, and the cause for this fake health care crisis we’re in – why would they suddenly be all for having private insurance companies run the government mandated plan? Just sayin’
Okay – one last thing – don’t let them fool you by saying the Republicans are slowing this thing down and standing in the way. Remember – they have a supermajority. If they wanted to pass this – they have the votes without the Republicans. So – don’t let them try to lay the blame on Republicans. There has not been one single Republican amendment allowed and no Republicans have been allowed in any of the closed door meetings. This is entirely a Democrat written and controlled bill. Republicans have not been allowed to contribute one thing to this bill. Every Republican amendment introduced has been voted down. So – don’t believe their lies. They own this thing 100% outright. The Democrats will be 100% responsible for the damage this will cause to this country. Don’t let this bill pass. If it does – remember who voted for it in November 2010 and 2012 and vote their asses out.

I do agree that our health care system needs some work, but to junk it and start a government plan isn’t the way. There’s a whole bunch of folks that aren’t going to be re-elected in the next several years. A whole bunch.Have a terrific day. :)

We have the best health care system in the world with the best morbidity and mortality rates in the world.
