The Country is Upside-down

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Constitution, Liberals, Politics, Socialism, government

I’ve decided I’m not going to rant today.  I’m going to take a very calm approach today.  I’m sitting here watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with my kids and something is just sitting here eating at me…everything seems to appear normal – but in reality – this whole country is completely screwed up right now and our constitution has been turned upside down.

The house passed a finance reform bill that would give the federal government the power to force corporations to sell off assets.  Tucked in that bill is a payoff to the Congressional Black Caucus of $6 Billion to African-American owned small businesses – with the lion’s share of it going to one individual – Percy Sutton

The EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson flat out lied to everyone and said that CO2 is poisonous, needs to be regulated, and that nothing about climategate changes the science of the global warming hoax.

Harry Reid flat out lied to the American people and said there is no public option in the health reform bill – yet – we know for sure there is. In addition to that – tucked away in the bill is a provision that would guarantee coverage for illegal aliens (2 million at least) – something that Obama promised wasn’t in there – and that Joe Wilson got excoriated for when he yelled out “You Lie” and the bill says if you don’t buy coverage you can be fined and/or go to jail not to mention a $10,000 “penalty” just for being married.

The government just paid off the American-Indians $3.5 Billion because the government mismanaged their money!  What about the rest of the American taxpayers?  The government has been mismanaging our funds for just as long as the Indians claim their funds have been mismanaged.  Since when has the government ever managed anything right?  They need to just get over it.

Congress is attempting to turn the leftover TARP money in to a Presidential slush fund to continue spending like crazy rather than do what is fiscally responsible – pay down the debt.  Congress is supposed to be the gatekeeper of taxpayer money  – yet – they continually mismanage that money.  If they were a private corporation they would already have been dissolved in court for not upholding its fiduciary responsible to the taxpayers/shareholders.

The average pay of a government employee is now $71,000 – $30,000 higher than the average private citizen.  In addition to that there has been a 19% increase in government employees who now make $100,000 or more (not including White House, Congress and DOD employees).  This is just further proof the government has gotten out of control.  The government pay scale should NEVER exceed the private sector.    While this country is at 18% unemployment and many private sector employers freezing pay to survive in this economy – the government is using our taxpayer dollars to give pay raises to themselves.

Obama quadrupled the national debt from $400 Billion when he entered in to office to $1.4 Trillion. How does this make any sense at all? – he did this in just 10 months.  Now those idiots in Congress want to increase our debt ceiling ANOTHER $1.9 Trillion!

While everyone was paying attention to the gate crashers of the state dinner (who claimed they were invited) – no one was paying attention to the fact that a convicted felon actually WAS invited to the White House. Not only was he invited – but – apparently he wrote the blueprint for the Obama agenda for getting the health reform bill, cap-and-trade, and any other socialist agenda they can think of to get passed WHILE IN PRISON.

We also learned this past week that the man hired to protect our children while they are in school also gave a speech to high school kids on the benefits of “fisting” and passed out “fisting kits” to those kids.  We also know that he is the founder of GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) you should check out his recommended reading and recommended K-12 curriculum for our school children.  Additionally, we also know that he counseled a 15 year old boy on gay sex with an adult man – and just simply warned him he should wear a condom.  He had the legal responsibility to turn the adult man in to the authorities for being a pedophile.  But then again, we also found out that his role model is the founder of NAMBLA.

One of the most powerful CEO’s in America that has his hands as deep in to P-BO’s back pockets as possible steps out and chastises OTHER CEO’s over greed?  And then two days later his company is awarded a $1.4 Billion contract to produce windmill farms?  Coincidence?  Not only that – but he is named as one of the chairmen of the board to the Federal Reserve. Is it also a coincidence that after Comcast bought out NBC – suddenly Comcast decides they too are all for the health reform agenda?  If that were true – why didn’t they say so BEFORE they bought Immelt’s network?

Then – we have one of the worst freakin’ terrorists in the world’s history getting ready to be tried in our Federal courts when precedence clearly states that all enemy combatants are to be tried by military tribunal and the federal courts have no jurisdiction over prisoners of war. NOW – we find that Obama is transferring all of the GITMO detainees to a prison in Illinois – hey – did you guys in Illinois know that?  Well – apparently – nobody else did either.  Where’s the transparency P-BO?  Gotta bring these terrorists on to American soil behind closed doors and in the dark of night?

I just need to stop here.  It’s driving me absolutely crazy.  We live in a world now where people can come right out and lie to your face and then try to convince you that either they are telling the truth – or – you’re either a hater, racist, or a nutjob for questioning the lies.  I don’t get it.  All I know is – this is NOT the America I want my children to grow up in.  I don’t want to be sitting down with my grandchildren in the future and say – you know, I remember when we were allowed to control our thermostats.  I can remember when we were allowed to go to a car dealership and pick out our own cars – whatever car we wanted.  I can remember when I could choose my own health care and my own doctors.  I can remember when I had a bank account instead of a government controlled tax fund.  I can remember when I had the freedom to practice my religion and not have to worry about being thrown in jail because I disagreed with homosexuals.  I can remember when I could own my own business – whatever kind of business I wanted – instead of being forced to work for the government at the wages the government decides.  I remember when I could say something critical of any government official and  our President and not have to worry about going to jail.  I remember when everyone had access to the Internet and it wasn’t controlled by the government.

I don’t want to be that grandfather that says…I remember when…..

Have you been eating chillies again, Bobo?  What happened to the “calm approach”? I really don’t think that the U.S. constitution has “been turned upside-down” by the Obama Administration because it was already corrupted beyond belief by eight years of Bush / Cheney.  Who was it that suspended habeous corpus for the prisoners at Guantanamo, and who was it that took the country to war based on a lie about WMD?  Also keep in mind that the mega-deficit problem all started with Bush’s $700 billion Wall Street bailout. The  Finance Reform Bill is necessary to prevent the same kind of abuses that brought down Wall Street from happening again.  Obama is right to pursue this reform.  Lisa Jackson was right.  Anyone who denies global warming has their head in the sand.Everyone defines the “public Option” differently.  Speaker Reid was correct in saying that the public option (as originally envisioned) is dead.  Health care insurance for illegal aliens will not, in fact, be part of the health care bill. What’s wrong with using the unspent TARP money on other stimulus programs?  I’m sure that the economy could use a little boost.

This is total, irrefutable proof that the public education system and doctrine of Darwinism has been wildly successful in this country.

It’s not just government pay that is out of whack.  Look at their benefits and perks.  In Cleveland, or should I say most of Ohio, government workers pay at most $100 a month towards their family health insurance plans.  Meanwhile, the taxpayer picks up the $1300.00 a month that the government employee does not pay.  This is insane.  The private sector is getting crushed with health insurance costs but yet government workers get the best possible health insurance for almost nothing contributed by the employee.  They get 15 paid sick days per year as well.  How many paid sick days do we get?  And what about pensions?  97% of the private sector does not have a pension plan offered through their employer.  Why should government workers get this then?  If you look at the facts, its the citizens that work for government!

The Dems OWN it now and they will be leaving power soon enough.  11 of them are already retiring.

wow. Somebody read their Huff-Po talking points memo. So much BS, where to begin…

Who was it that suspended habeous corpus for the prisoners at Guantanamo
Lincoln? Oh wait, hmm, Roosevelt? Gosh, I know I’ll get it one of these days. Bush? You serious? Well, the first two actually suspended Habeas corpus for citizens. Bush never did, and prior to the awful ruling in Boumediene v. Bush nobody even dreamed that it could, should or would be applied to enemy combatants. Sorry, you can’t accuse Bush of braking a law that didn’t exist at the time.

who was it that took the country to war based on a lie about WMD?
More half truths. Actually, just 8% truths. There were 23 reasons for war enumerated in the resolution passed by Congress (including the vast majority of Dems), only 2 mentioned WMD. That’s 8%. Somehow 8% of the justification for the war becomes all that it was about when it turns out to be the only 8% that wasn’t accurate. Curious. Oh, and BTW, Bush took it before Congress and got their authorization. How many times did your boy Clinton do that before committing US forces to battle, hmm? I’m waiting…

the mega-deficit problem all started with Bush’s $700 billion Wall Street bailout

Oh, would that be the TARP program? The one that actually stabilized the financial sector, has spent less that half the money allocated on the banks themselves, and that money has been or is being repaid with interest? Would that be the one you mean? The one that Obama is salivating over using as his own private slush fund? (Look, TARP was a terrible idea, and Bush really screwed the pooch when he gave TARP funds to GM, opening the floodgates as you’re implying, but the original goal of TARP as stated actually worked for a lot less than advertised and the money that was spent on banks is being repaid with interest from all but those few banks that failed. And I’ll admit that I’m astonished at this. ) Claiming that “Bush started the bailouts” is true, but given the scope of Obama’s forays in that arena, that’s kind of like a murderer looking at a speeder and accusing him of hypocrisy because he’s a criminal too.

The Finance Reform Bill is necessary to prevent the same kind of abuses that brought down Wall Street from happening again.
The FRB does nothing of the kind, it saddles us with an unnecessary financial “protection” agency (for our own good, donchaknow) and encourages the very financial procedures that got us into the mess in the first place (see CRA).

Anyone who denies global warming has their head in the sand.
450 peer reviewed, scientific ostriches. Anyone, ANYONE who claims “The science is settled” has absolutely NO idea what the scientific method is all about. The entire point of it is that the science is never “settled” on ANYTHING.

Everyone defines the “public Option” differently. Speaker Reid was correct in saying that the public option (as originally envisioned) is dead.
    You should be in Texas

Health care insurance for illegal aliens will not, in fact, be part of the health care bill.
    You lie.

What’s wrong with using the unspent TARP money on other stimulus programs? I’m sure that the economy could use a little boost.
Only 3 things. One, it’s money that we don’t have. Two, The money was not budgeted or released for that purpose. Three. The government spending money (that we don’t have-see reason one) doesn’t stimulate anything except Congresscritter’s and Senator’s favorite pork projects, and the vast majority of it just goes into government itself. I can’t believe that the debacle that was the first stimulus bill wasn’t proof enough of that for anyone not blind, deaf or willfully dumb, where have you been for the last year, fantasyland? GOVRNMENT “STIMULUS” SPENDING DOESN’T BOOST THE ECONOMY. PERIOD. The past year has demonstrated that beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt.

@Cherlock – I’m hoping you’re just disagreeing to disagree – because otherwise that means you truly do not see or understand the unconstitutionality of much of what I have posted here.  I suggest you follow the links.

Dave pretty much already covered a lot of what I was going to say, so I don’t need to repeat it.  He nailed a lot of what I would have said.  The only other thing I would want to add is that Obama voted for that TARP bill.  Additionally, the only one who lied about WMD was Saddam Hussein.  He had the ENTIRE international intelligence community believing he had WMD.

    @Crazed – thanks – much appreciated

@Stunatra – it is indeed.  Finding that out is actually what prompted the whole post.

@Crabby – Reagan attempted to get rid of the DOE – I think the next conservative President we elect needs to dump it as well.  The liberals have destroyed our public education system.

@Valleri – And that is just so wrong!  We need to bring government back to its constitutional limits.  They shouldn’t be living high on the hog from our tax dollars when there is that much unemployment in the private sector and government continues to add jobs.

    @Harrison – Amen to that!

@Dave – thanks for the follow up

@Steve – I’ll be out later to check it out.

Speaking of Mickey’s Clubhouse, have you ever noticed how it seems to teach kids to try something once, fail, then go get bailed out. What ever happened to persistence and rugged individualism? What do you learn by slinking off to Tootell every time you stuggle a little bit? The ol’ tug-on-shopping-cart-once-and then -find-another-if-tug-number-one-doesn’t-work. Bah, bah humbug…;)
