The Gang of Ten…at it again!
Posted by: The BoBo // Category: A Nation at Risk, America, Congress, Democrats, Idiots, Liberals, McCain, Obama, Pelosi, Politics, RINO, Republicans, Taxes, energy, gas, government, oilH/T to Greg over at 454monte.com for the heads-up on this!
From an editorial by Ted Nugent over at Human Events: Make sure you pass this on to others – we need to get the word out. While our Republican Representatives are making a stand up on the hill – there are five sell-outs joining with five Dems to thwart their efforts. These five are:
Graham, Thune, Chambliss, Corker, and Isakson – All of them RINO assholes! They’re offering up an energy policy that fits right in to Obama’s gameplan! These are the same Eleven Ten that used to include McCain.
According to Kimberly Strassel’s August 8th article in The Wall Street Journal, the Gang of Ten’s energy policy is to allow four states to determine whether or not to allow drilling for oil on offshore federal land and deny drilling within 50 miles of our coasts and any drilling in ANWR. Oil companies would be allowed to explore for oil off Florida’s coasts. You know, like those stalwarts of environmentalism China, Cuba and India are planning to do in the next couple of years.
Additionally, the Gang of Ten would provide over $80 billion in tax credits for alternative fuels by eliminating $30 billion in tax breaks for oil companies, which of course ultimately comes out of American consumer’s pockets. That’s right: raise taxes on the very companies that would invest in finding more real energy to help make America energy independent, while propping up more Fedzilla hoaxes like ethanol. The Emperor not only has no clothes, he’s fat, wart-riddled and ugly
You gotta love the way Mr. Wango Tango writes! But take careful notice of the areas I highlighted up there…proof positive these RINO’s are deep in the pockets of the Dems. Why don’t they just freakin change parties already? I don’t know what pisses me off more – the fact that these guys are trying to undermine the effort to increase oil supplies or the fact they want to increase taxes on us!
The first rule of Republican economic politics must always be to never cut deals with the Tax Devil. The second economic maxim is that America can not tax and spend its way to prosperity. These two fundamental rules should be burned into the doors of all Republican senators and congressmen’s offices. Even tattooed onto their foreheads.
Unable to drill within 50 miles of our coasts, we will not be able to tap into the rich energy reserves that lay just off of our coasts.
The Gang of Ten’s proposal would restrict us from this energy — energy that would help make America more energy independent. Thanks for nothing, Gang of Sellouts.
So – not only do they want to let 4 out of the 50 states make this decision, but, they want to completely cut us off from 86 billion barrels of oil and 420 TRILLION cubic feet of natural gas!
Go read the rest of that yourself….I don’t dare take away from The Nugent’s artful ways of the written word!
Also – on the same lines – we have this: A letter to Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) from one of his Tennessee Constituents. I won’t paste the entire thing over here – just a couple of the main points. This is a must read as well:
Senator, here are the facts:
1. The Democrats do not want us to drill for our own oil.
2. Increasing the supply of oil is crucial to bringing down the price.
3. Taxing the oil companies will not produce a single drop of oil.
4. Inflating our tires will not produce a drop of oil.
5. The 2000 acres of drilling land (out of 19 million) in ANWR is a frozen waste where the sun doesn’t shine for 56 days out of the year.
6. The prosperity of this country is due in part to our use of fossil fuels. Our continued prosperity will require fossil fuels. There is no replacement for oil in the foreseeable future.
7. Man made global warming is a hoax perpetuated by Al Gore and his left wing nuts. Conservatives need to stand tall and say, “Not one more dime shall be spent on this nonsense!”
I would say this Doctor nailed that on the head! This is just snippet of the whole thing. This guy knows how to write.
I really don’t know what the hell these Senators are thinking. Everything they are proposing will just continue our independence on foreign oil while increasing our taxes and making the government even larger – while leaving the decision of millions up to 4 state Governors. Who the hell do these people think they are? The latest Rasmussen poll clearly indicates that 64% of Americans WANT to drill and 55% want to build more Nukes. Everything these RINO dickheads want to do is completely the opposite of the MAJORITY of Americans.
Apparently, our voices are mute up in D.C. – I say – now is the time to raise our voices and make damned sure we’re heard!
First - See my previous post Operation Drill Bit – let’s send as many freakin’ drill bits as we can to Nancy Pelosi.
Second - Contact your Representatives and Senators and let them know how you feel. You can find your representatives here: Senators and Congressman
and Third - Let’s reset this whole damned thing! Vote out all the freakin incumbents in November! I’ve started a new blogroll – No More Incumbents – send me an e-mail at nomoreincumbents at gmail dot com and I will send you the code to put on your blog. Once you’ve placed the code on your blog – send me a follow-up e-mail with the URL where the blogroll is located and I will add your blog to it. Here’s what it looks like:

I dont know why the Congress insists upon doing everything wrong. This group of 10 decision is just a ploy to pretend like they intend to solve the energy crisis. While they say, we are willing to drill, the regulations are purposely so strict that nothing can actually be accomplished. What really upsets me is the poll. 64% of American want drilling, but Congress still blocked it. Whether you are a Dem or a Repub, you work for America. If America wants to drill then do it. It’s not as if it violates the constituion; it’s not as if it violates the rights of any particular person or group. It is just drilling. That’s why I can’t stand these Republicrats.

Yup, it’s simply amazing, if not unbelievable that we have an energy policy that restricts access to reliable and proven sources of energy. A source that we will need in the future for population growth and economic growth; These RINO’s and liberal Democrats would rather burn more billions of taxpayer funds to pick a winner in the “alternative” energy charade–the 21st century version of searching for the fountain of youth or city of gold.
Related topic: I was thinking about the following as a possible blog post. The recent international issue with Russia invading Georgia. Russia over the last 5 years has really benefited from high natural gas and crude oil prices. If the U.S. had decided 10 years ago to tap into our proven reserves, I suspect that crude oil prices and NG prices would never have risen as high as they have over the last 2-3 years. Thereby, reducing the likelihood that countries like Russia, Iran, and Venezuela from being capable of having enough clout and cash to do what they are doing now. Off-shore drilling is a security issue.

Thanks BobO…!! I appreciate the help!
I’m so ticked off at Pelosi Reid, and yes my own TN Senator Corker right now I could spit!

Corker hasn’t even had the decency to reply with a form letter, form email or anything. We didn’t really expect a personal response to hubby’s letter, but we did expect an acknowledgment of some kind. These Republicans (not Conservatives) are a disgrace. Thanks for the mention.

The Gang of Ten…at it Again!…
The Gang of 11 – now 10 without McCain has come up with a most brilliant energy plan – one that plays right in to Obama’s playbook. 5 Dems and 5 Reps have suggested a plan that would limit oil drilling, that would be decided by just 4 governors of 4 …

I like your feed. The good thing about the long break is that Congress isn’t passing any bad laws filled with earmarks and pork.

@Uriel – you called that one right – “Republicrats” – good one. I’ll have to use that one! LOL
@Vulcan – That would indeed be a most excellent post. I’m sure you could find some good stats out there to support your thoughts.
@Greg – Anytime, brother! Just doin my part.
@Debbie – Thanks for dropping in. Your hubby wrote an excellent and very poignant letter. It doesn’t surprise me either that you guys didn’t get a response from that RINO Senator of yours. He’s already committed himself to this cause – why should he listen to reason now?
@Tyson – The support is much appreciated. If it wasn’t for the fact that we need to have them back in session to pass this energy bill..I would say let them stay on a permanent unpaid leave of absence. Our government seems to work better when they are muddling it up!

the problem the republicans have with drilling is they keep saying they want to drill to bring the price down. Their own reports refute that enough oil could be supplied at any one time to bring down the price of oil significantly. IF the repubs had sold the idea of drilling for oil to keep money in the u.s. and to keep money out of the hands of extremists, drilling would be a great idea. Unfortunately, the right insists on lying about drilling lowering prices to influence low information low IQ voters.

xmarks – you must be a real sexual intellectual fucking genius (sorry, forgot, talking to a low IQ crowd here) and have it all figured out! I’m sure you studied Econ 101 in college and know about the whole law of supply and demand thingy that we’re too ignorant to understand. I guess when supplies increase and demand remains level or decreases then prices decrease is just whooey.
You must be so freakin’ smart that you understand the financial markets that we just don’t get. Since the price of the gasoline we pay for today is based on the price of a barrel anywhere from one month to two years ago (oh..you do know that OIL FUTUREs is traded on the FUTUREs market right?) I’m sure you understand that the way oil is traded is based on FUTUREs contracts – in other words – a price bid is placed on oil contracts in the FUTURE and that oil will be delivered at that price in the FUTURE. So – when we start drilling now to increase supplies in the FUTURE it has no effect on the price of gas at all! But, you know, we’re too stupid to understand this stuff like you do. So – no – even if we drilled today it’s not going to drop the price of gas tomorrow since we still need to go through the inventories that were already priced a year ago for today.
I’m sure you’re also much smarter than the rest of us and you know that in addition to the delay in the futures contract price of oil – refining and delivery of that final product known as gas takes up to 3 months (once refined) to actually get in to your tank. So – that gas you filled up with today is actually based on the price of oil that was decided and reported in the news about 15 months ago.
Furthermore – Since we are too stupid to go and read that DOE report ourselves, I’m sure you would tell us how that report also indicated that barriers to production that make it take up to 10 years is all regulatory based in addition to the time it would take to build the pipelines. I’m sure you know that oil companies are required to obtain up to 1,000 permits just to build one rig. It only takes Saudi Arabia 30 months to build an offshore rig. It takes us almost 6 years because of all the hoops our government forces the oil companies to go through. But, I’m sure you know that since you are so well informed. I guess the fact that Russia discovered oil in July and will be building a rig and extracting that oil in September (3 months) is absolutely impossible – because – you know – our government says it takes 10 years to do that – and you’re so well informed and have such a high IQ that you believe everything the government says – unless you actually read that report yourself to understand the details – which I know you must have done.
I am so glad we have such smart people out there like you to keep us so informed! I guess the fact that every statement by every republican out there has said that we need to be energy independent for our national security has absolutely nothing to do with keeping the money out of the hands of extremists – because, since we’re all too stupid to understand what national security is we would never assume that is what is meant by that!
