The Obamas are NOT the Huxtables!
Posted by: The BoBo // Category: America, Children, Congress, Democrats, Elections, Family, Idiots, Mis-speak, Obama, Politics, President, Socialism, energyOh how freakin sweet that speech by Michelle Obama was last night! She was just so gushy and motherly like – now wasn’t she? Oh – and parading their kids out at the end for a “Huxtable” moment! (Nothing like exploiting your children is there?). And..now…we have this from NewsOne for Black America:
Give me a freakin’ break!
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
![]() |
Oh! Wait! I see the resemblance! Cliff and Claire Huxtable taught their children personal responsibility, hard work, and to depend on no one to succeed and Michelle and Barack Obama want a socialist form of government where the government gives everything to everyone…oh…nevermind.
Well – then there is the fact that Cliff and Claire Huxtable raised their own children and were always home to be with the kids to teach them those valuable life lessons and both Obamas are there to raise their kids and pass on….oh…that’s right – in B. Obama’s own words:
Allowance from Dad for doing chores: $1 per week. “I’m out of town all the time,” says Barack, “so Malia will say, ‘Hey, you owe me 10 weeks!’ ”
10 Weeks? Holy freakin hell! He’s gone for 10 weeks at a time? How many 10 week periods are there? That’s a completely different picture than what Michelle was trying to portray last night! In case you missed the lies, er backpeddling, uh cover-up, flowery speech – you can read the transcripts here – she was totally reading the speech from a teleprompter, as does Barack, and not one bit of it was probably written by her. We already know what she says when it comes off the top of her own head!
The Dems and Obama bin Biden supporters are trying really really hard to “humanize” this family and make them likeable – from that same article referenced above:
Are the Obamas the news Cosbys? It seemed so last night at the DNC. When Obama was talking with his adorable daughter Sasha, it couldn’t help but remind me of Cliff and Rudy Huxtable.
Yeah – right – gimme a freakin’ break! (Hey, wasn’t that an ’80′s show also?). What I got out of it was the fact that his daughters had no idea where he was at. Real fatherly of ya there Mr. Obama! You know, if you want to compare the Obamas to a T.V. family – let’s not pick one that all of America loves and that is the furthest from what the real Obama family looks and acts like.
With regards to the actual speech though – I think the one thing that pissed me off the most was when Michelle said “That is why I love this country” (after going on a long diatribe about she and Barack – Harvard and Princeton grads, as well as Joe Biden – the 30 year long Senator – have struggled and can relate to we working class people..phht!) – she received a freakin standing ovation! WTF? Has anybody in the freakin history of politics ever gotten a standing ovation when they talk about how proud of this country they are or how much they love this country? HELL NO! This was just another effort on the part of the Dems to try to help downplay her real hatred for this country.
Nope! Sorry! This BoBo does not buy that phony speech one bit!
Now – To find out some more about this wonderful family man – Head on over to Voice of The American Shiftworker for some more eye-opening shtuff!
Here’s another take on the speech! I must say – this lady can write!!! Injuries and Usurpations – Michelle Obama’s Pretty Speech

I’m seeing this over and over again on blogs I’m hitting. Michele’s been in the media (er, some media) as the ANTI American and they needed to clean it up. What sticks in my head is the comment she made saying she wasn’t proud of America or hadn’t been in awhile. I don’t know the exacts. That shook folks up there for a bit. Seems it was forgotten. She’s been harsh with words about the US.

There’s so much sugar coating on her speech, that I’m afraid some of the Dems might have walked away with diabetes. Even if they WERE the Huxtables, how in the world would that excuse Obama’s socialist ideals? Also–good point, Monica. I remember when Michele made that statement, too.
This just goes to show that much of the public will eat up anything that’s put on their plates. There are posts all over the blogosphere praising Michele Obama and her “courage” or whatever the hell she calls it. I call it a promising acting career.
Righteous post, Bobo. Hit the nail square on the head. Thanks for the link, too!

It is amazing how words can make people all giddy. I have seen people so impressed with her speech as I have done my blog hopping. Words, people, words, and as you said probably written by someone else. I don’t get it.

@Monica – same here! That’s why I didn’t believe one word of this speech with regards to how she feels about this country and our troops. I have no doubt she wants to see a socialist government based on this speech though.
@Mikey – thanks – and – my pleasure
@Josie – If you google Obama and huxtables – you’ll found 10′s of thousands of stories. It’s just plain crazy
@Jason – I’m not too worried. America is beginning to wake up to this guy – I really don’t see him in the Whitehouse come January. Also – good luck to you in BE also. I don’t really expect to win as you have a following. I’ve only recent started battling over there…so…we’ll see. Thanks for accepting the challenge!

Bobo, you got my vote in your current battle. I usually find that when I battle another political blog, it’s a closer vote. Here are some tips to up your ranking. Instead of creating challenges, take other challenges that you think you have a shot at. To some degree it’s a popularity contest, but there are enough people who appreciate original well written content to swing the vote if you’re up against something stupid like a blog meme or a cute kitty cat picture.

Man, this is a bitter little blog post with an echo chamber in tow. I’m an independent, but I find it amusing when conservatives sit around and repeat the same sorry bromides they get from Rush and Hannity (to wit: the ridiculous claim that Obama is a socialist … do you folks even know what a true socialist system is like?)
Of course the Obamas aren’t the Huxtables. The Huxtables were a make-believe family reading clever lines written by white writers in Hollywood. But if you can’t see the obvious parallels–two attractive, affluent black professionals with a pair of sweet young daughters–then you’re just being contrarian for the sake of it.
Look, don’t vote for Obama. That’s your right. I’ve got no problem with folks who support McCain, who’s a fine man in his own right. But why not drop the suspicion and speculation (he’s a Muslim, a socialist, an empty suit, etc.) and focus on the reasons why you support your guy. I ask the question, but I already know the answer: there’s not a whole lot to get excited about with your guy.
For the record, this is what Michelle Obama said:
“And let me tell you something — for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and justnot feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I’ve seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it’s made me proud.”
I think any reasonable person can discern what Michelle Obama was saying (and not saying). She’s not saying she’s never been proud of this country. That’s ridiculous. She’s saying she’s *really* proud for the first time in her adult life for reasons we can assume are unique to her background: as a black woman who’s no doubt faced subtle forms or racism, and whose parents confronted overt institutionalized racism, seeing a black man energize and unify whites and blacks alike has to be one of the most rewarding developments of her life. Can you folks really not understand why she would feel that way?
Let’s keep our eye on the ball here. Every minute we spend bickering about something as inconsequential as whether the Obamas are like the Huxtables is another minute we’re not focusing on the stuff that really matters.

@Scott – and I’m clinging to my guns and religion as well! I’m so glad you dropped by to enlighten us. Still don’t see how it was taken out of context – she did state she wasn’t proud of this country until this moment. And…I’m not the one comparing them to the Huxtables – it’s the freakin leftist media doing that. Mine is a rebuttal to the MSM. Also – sorry – don’t listen to Rush or Hannity – they are on during the day…you know…when I work!!!!! If they’re saying the same things that I am, well, then that just means THEY are in good company.
Regarding whether or not we actually understand what a true socialist system is – apparently – you missed these here that I posted – I suggest you go read them:
What Does Obama Mean By Economic and Social Justice?
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Oh, come on. You listen to Rush and Hannity. You must. The intellectual “rigor” of your blog shares an uncanny resemblance to the work of El Rushbo.
And what the heck does “I can multi-focus” mean? Does that mean Monica can look up speeches on YouTube all by herself? If so … congrats, Monica! Your mastery of the Internets is on par with our esteemed president.
And forgive me for skimming your “treatises” on Economic and Social Justice. I had to stop before my head crashed onto my laptop.
But I’ll ask you this? When you toss around the term “Socialism,” do you mean real Socialism as practiced by a handful of repressive countries (Cuba, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Syria, Belarus, etc.) Or do you mean the faux Socialism that many conservatives reflexively accuse Democrats of endorsing?
If you don’t cotton to affirmative action, great. That’s your right. But support for affirmative action does not a Socialist nation make. Pure Socialist nations have state-run industries and economies. And if you think Obama is trying to give the United States that kind of “extreme makeover” in four or eight years, then I can only shake my head in amusement.
Let’s drop the labels. Obama is not a Socialist. And Bush is not a Fascist. And people who claim either are only adding noise to the national dialogue.

@Scott – I want to thank you for providing me with the idea for my next post! Apparently, I have scooped Rush and Hannity!!! WooHoo! First – like I said, I really don’t listen to those guys. I do have a day job and those guys are on during the day. I don’t have a job where I have the luxury of sitting around listening to a radio. If you do – I want your job! After you made that statement – I googled it. First – I am in the top 10 when you google Huxtables and Obama. I am also the ONLY blog in the top 10 that makes that statement. Then, I checked the hannity and rush websites to see what they were saying on the day I posted this. Apparently, they didn’t start making these statements until the DAY AFTER I posted my blog.
As soon as the first lefty blogger came out comparing the Obama’s to the Huxtables I made my post. So – I get to tell my readers what a wonderful guy I am and give them even more reason to come back here – I scooped the big guys!!!
For your information – some of us are independent thinkers. BTW – have you ever thought that perhaps those radio guys check the blogosphere in preparation of their shows to see who is saying what? Not like they got it off of me – but – there are other bloggers out there saying the same thing..only..they came hours and days after me.
Next – can you explain this to me. If Obama is not a socialist – why is he rated the #1 liberal in washington and the self-professed Socialist is at #4? Either Obama is a hard-core socialist or he is a communist to be THAT far left of an actual self-proclaimed socialist. Additionally, if he’s not a socialist – why is it that he stated in his book The Audacity of Hope that while he was in college he intentionally associated himself with socialist thinkers and marxist professors? If he’s not a socialist – why is he pushing a socialist agenda where the government controls everything – state run education, jobs, energy supply, healthcare, etc. These are in fact part of his platform. Maybe you’re the one that has it wrong – and rather than listen to the talking heads..perhaps you should actually do some research of your own – as I do. If you go to his campaign website – you can download all of his policy papers – you will see that what I have stated is correct. He also has been on the circuit announcing in his own words he wants Universal Healthcare, Universal Education, Patriot Employer Act, and socialized energy.
