The question out there is – who won the Ryan – Biden debate – as my co-host TNM stated regarding my post on the Romney – Obama debate – there are no winners in a debate – technically.  Well – regarding this debate – again – only the hard-core lefties believe Biden won.  Even the liberal CNN and CNBC have Ryan winning the debate. Make sure you read the CNN one – their poll has Ryan 48 and Biden 44 – but they call it a tie.  If it were the other way you know they would say that it was a Biden blowout.

Here’s what I took away from it -

Biden – I’ve lived longer than you so I know more

Ryan – I’m better looking than you

Biden – My teeth are whiter and I’m going to sneer at you all night and laugh at everything you say so I can show them off

Ryan – I’m better looking than you, and so is Romney

Biden – I lie better so the people should trust me more than you

Ryan – I’m still better looking than you

Biden – Give me Specifics

Radditz – yeah, give me specifics too

Ryan – I am younger, I work out using P90x, my hair is real, and I have a chiseled chin

Biden – Ok, but, give me specifics

Radditz – yeah, give me specifics too

Ryan – umm, okay. I am younger, I work out using P90x, my hair is real, and I have a chiseled chin

Biden – that’s not specific enough

Radditz – I agree with the Vice President

Biden – 47%

Ryan – I’m still better looking.

Biden – 47%

Radditz – 47%

Really – I had expected more from Ryan.  I thought he was going to really paint the picture of just how different the Obama/Biden ticket is from the Romney/Ryan ticket and show America the stark choices – either four more years of the same bloated, big spending, ever-intrusive big government socialist Obama administration – or the meaner, leaner, stronger, small government conservative Romney administration. He didn’t even speak to that until his closing statement.

Biden came off as a crotchety old man.  If their intention was to appeal to the women, moderates, and independents – he did a very poor job.  All he did last night was shore up the radical base with his antics.  He threw everything but the kitchen sink at Ryan – and Ryan held his composure.  He looked like the mean old man telling the kids to get off his lawn while Ryan looked like the polite young man just taking it.

While I was watching Biden go through every iteration of face contortion you can think of – at one time – this image struck me:

All I know is that Obama is losing big time – and after last night’s debate – it is pretty much assured this will be a Romney/Ryan victory in November.  All Romney has to do now is coast and not do anything stupid and the election is pretty much his to lose. Make sure you check out that link – before the debate last week – there were essentially only 4 toss-up states and Obama was projected with 254 electoral votes.  Now there are 12 toss-up states and he is down to 201.

Here in Florida – last week Obama was up 49 – 45.  As of today, Romney is up 51 – 44.  That is a huge 11 point shift.  It’s starting to look like that in all the battleground states.  Looking forward to the next two debates.
