Why liberals don’t want you near their children!

Sharing: A lesson on human nature
I was talking to a friend of mine’s little girl the other day. I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up and she replied, ‘I want to be President!’ Both of her parents are liberal Democrats and were standing there. So then I asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?’ She replied, ‘I’d give houses to all the homeless people.’ ‘Wow – what a worthy goal.’ I told her, ‘You don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where this homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward a new house.’ Since she is only 6, she thought that over for a few seconds. While her Mom glared at me, she looked me straight in the eye and asked, ‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?’ And I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.’ Her folks still aren’t talking to me.

So, did you answer the kid’s question? Why doesn’t the homeless man come over and do the work himself? Why is he homeless? Is there something, perhaps some physical disability, preventing him from coming over and doing the work himself? Is it really a good idea to be teaching kids that charitable deeds are wrong? WWJD?
And, finally, where do you live that $50 makes a down payment on a house?

Charity = Help
Help = Giving something and expecting something in return (like a pat on the back and a “atta boy” you are a good doer)
Assistance = Arming a person with dignity and the resolve to make their own life what they wish
Assistance = Giving people the opportunity to earn their food, money and save for a house (I had to – $25, $50, and whatever I could at a time AND a single mom of 3) gives them pride and the sense of accomplishment.
The 6 year old got it.
I learned it in elementary school.
I didn’t see anything about someone being mentally disabled or a victim or on disability in the statement myself
Hugs ~ my kids thought it was an interesting one too!

Oh, I’ve seen my share of it!
Fella asks me for work all the time. I tell him I’ll pay $10 an hour to pull weeds around the yard. He is physically able to do the work. He works 2 hours and says “I think I’ll call it a day” I have to go out and pick up the piles of weeds he leaves all over the yard. An hour later I see him at the local gas station buying cigarettes. (a nice long walk for him) Two days later he is asking for more work.
Another in the area has a large plasma TV, new computer, satellite dish in the front yard and can be seen paying for groceries with a food stamp card.

@ Len: WWJD? “God helps those that help themselves”. That’s WWJD. Great story, Bobo!

@Roger – and they say conservatives have no sense of humor! Sheesh! Actually, I am in support of child labor! I make my kids mow my lawn, do the dishes, clean their rooms, wash their own laundry, vacuum the living room, take out the garbage, and dust the furniture. For all that – they get an allowance at the end of the week. If they spend it all before the next pay period – tuff – they don’t get any more money from me. They need to learn to budget it also. So – in short – absolutely!!!!
If you mean in the asian sweat shops – I guess it all depends on how much they get paid!

BRILLIANT!!! Did you seriously do this??? Or is it a joke? If you did do it it’s hilarious and gutsy. I don’t know if I’d have the guts to do it with some of my family members. But I will have to remember it for my little cousins.

Wow, I have to tell all my friends about this one. It just goes to show you, liberalism is about indoctrination, not about substance. Even a 6 year old can get it.

@Uriel – nice to see you again! I was wondering when you guys (or at least you) would be back on the boards again! I do have to agree – it is about indoctrination – and it starts in our public schools unfortunately.
