The BoBo Carnival of Politics – September 22, 2008
Posted by: The BoBo // Category: BoBo, Carnival, Conservative, Democrats, Elections, Liberals, McCain, Media Bias, Obama, Politics, President, Republicans, Weekend, government, libertarianWelcome to the latest edition.Once again – we’ve received many articles with varying points of views from the right, the middle, the left and just plain everywhere else in between. Please go check these out.
Miscellaneous
Madeleine Begun Kane presents Sarah Palin’s Barracuda Blog posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.
If you haven’t been to Mad Kane’s site yet – you’re in for a real treat. She is an excellent blogger – and her Sarah Palin diaries are pretty funny
Richard Cummings presents Will America Elect a Black President? posted at Live Your Way, saying, “Read the story of Jim, a white manager who supports Barack Obama…until November 4th that is. How many Jim’s are out there?”
A look at one individual, named Jim, who says he is conservative, but had decided to vote for Obama. Considering the guy lives in Seattle (not exactly the bastion of conservatism) I don’t know if I really believe that myself – I don’t know any real conservatives who would vote for a socialist. But – you need to read this for yourself to make up your own minds.
Libertarian
Thursday Bram presents Ron Paul’s Endorsement Goes To… posted at One Vote Matters.
Just a quick review of the Ron Paul interview regarding his endorsement…
News
Ron McKie presents Racism at its best posted at Phuck Politics.
Ron McKie presents God bless America posted at Phuck Politics.
Ron has some other good stuff posted up as well. Don’t let the name of his blog fool ya! He posted this under news – but, he leans conservative.
Chris presents Sarah Palin, Spirituality and Forbidden Knowledge posted at Martial Development, saying, “Read this today, because our Glorious Leaders might ban it tomorrow.”
I don’t entirely agree with Chris on this one. Apparently, Chris is just continuing the spread of the already debunked stories – but – it’s here for you all to see.
Leon Gettler presents McCain to Cox: You’re fired! posted at Sox First, saying, “As a rule, politicians are shocking populists and John McCain is no exception by telling The Wall Street Journal that he would sack Securities and Exchange Commission chairman Christopher Cox. If nothing else, McCain showed he is totally clueless about the way the market works”
I wouldn’t have picked Cox either – that guy is a slimeball. This one is from an investor’s point of view.
BeThisWay presents My Own Cynical Take on Politics: Going to the United Nations Does Not Foreign Policy Experience Make posted at Are You Going To Be This Way The Rest of The Time I Know You?.
An interesting look at both sides in this election.
Politics
The Stock Teacher presents Speculating On The Election posted at Stock Investment, saying, “If you think McCain is going to win the election, certain stocks may be worth betting on.”
This is another interesting look at the elections from an investor’s point of view.
Fred Lucas presents NYT.com Removes Article Mentioning Obama’s Muslim Roots posted at Barack Obama, saying, “It is a bit suspicious that the New York Times has removed an article from the past that mentions Obama’s Muslim upbringing in Indonesia.”
Dexter presents Will This Be the Year For Young Voters? Part 1 posted at Michigan Youth Political Alliance.
Ella Moss presents IT’S THE ECONOMY, STUPID! « Zodiac Times posted at Zodiac Times, saying, “who has possible solutions for today’s economy”
Thursday Bram presents New Youngest Member in Congress? posted at One Vote Matters.
A look at Aaron Schock, a 27 year old Illinois State Representative running for Congress.
Kevin Brink presents How Keith Olbermann Could Cost Obama the Election posted at The Red Stapler Chronicles.
Gotta love it! Anything anti-Olbermann is a good read in my view. This author says “Keith Olbermann is this year’s Michael Moore.”
Raymond presents Would You Give Up Your Right To Vote For A Million Dollars? posted at Money Blue Book.
I’m not sure I would give up my right to vote for $1 Million! Apparently, this author heard a radio show where others would give it up. Go check out this one and see how you would choose.
Allen in Fort Worth presents Barack Obama is Michael Jackson. Sarah Palin is Prince. posted at The Whited Sepulchre, saying, “here’s an unlikely analogy.”
An unlikely analogy is correct – but – still worth a look!

Nobody denies that Palin asked about removing books from the library, not even Palin herself. This is not a “debunked story”.

What Sarah Palin asked was “what if a library customer had a problem with a particular book, what would be the process for having it banned?” She DID NOT try to have books banned!! The part that is debunked is “she tried to have books banned”!!

I see. In that case, the claim that I repeat debunked stories and unproven rumors is a straw man. I won’t repeat my posting here, but will suggest that others read it and draw their own conclusions.

Chris,I enjoyed reading the article. You did a good job framing your argument. Even if it isn’t 100% spot on, it was still well written.
