It wouldn’t surprise me if the Clintons ask for a bailout next!
Posted by: The BoBo // Category: America, Congress, Idiots, Obama, Politics, President, Republicans, Socialism, governmentHas there been any reporting lately of whether or not the Clintons have paid off their campaign debts yet? Last we heard, Obama had asked his supporters to help out. Funny thing is – with that $650 million that he raised – surely he could have helped out!
I also understand that none of his supporters came to the Clinton’s aide!
So – we now have headines reporting today of some bailout money being doled out or requested:
Bush wants $25B in loans released to carmakers
I sure as hell hope that doesn’t happen! Again, being the true capitalist that I am, I say – let them fail! Plus, considering Barney Frank is asking for a government stake in these companies should we bail them out – I say HELL NO! We don’t need a nationalized auto-industry. Part of the reason they are failing is because of government regulation and interference. If you really want to help out the auto-makers – 1.) get rid of all those stifling regulations you have, 2.) Move them out of Detroit, and 3.) Get the damned unions out of there – union costs and forced benefits make up a little over 30% of the total cost of the car!
Mayors of Philadephia and Phoenix seek bailout share
Holy freakin’ shit already? They want part of the $700B bailout package because:
“The mayors sought help with their pension costs, infrastructure investment and cash-flow problems stemming from the global financial crisis”
I got a little tip for you guys – CUT YOUR SPENDING! CUT BACK on the waste in your city budgets!
And, this next one – all I can say it – You gotta be outta your freakin’ mind. They really have the balls to ask.
Freddie seeks government aid after $25.3B loss
Go to freakin’ hell! It was partly the fault of this organization run by Democrat insiders that we’re in this freakin’ mess to begin with! I say, fuck you! I can’t even believe you have the nerve coming to the American people asking for a damned handout! Knowing Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and Obama who have been the largest recipients of their charity – I’m sure somehow there will be some arm-twisting to make sure they get some!
Good lord! Next thing you know. Mexico is going to ask for some of that bailout money! What? You don’t think it could happen? It already did – once before – under Clinton.
And..NOW – NOW – Bush comes out saying we need to keep government out of private business? You idiot! What the hell do you think just happened with that $700B bailout package you approved? You put government right smack dab in the middle of private business!
Seriously, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the Clinton’s didn’t ask for a slice. You know, considering Hillary is a possible candidate for Secretary of State now! Is that freakin’ hillyarious or what? Surely, she can’t have debt like that hanging over her head if she’s to be the representative of this country abroad. That is a huge national security risk. So – like I said – it wouldn’t surprise me if the government bails her out of her debt!

Well, you know Bobo, nobody ever accused George of being the sharpest tool in the shed. Unfortunately, our “MBA” president must have slept through a few too many classes (or was drunk, high, whatever) to realize that in a TRUE capitalist market, there is no such thing as a government bailout. If you want to hear how totally screwed everything has gotten, you should check out the NPR piece they did on (I think) Monday;

Thanks for the post (as always, its interesting to read your opinion).

Michael – thanks for that link. If you haven’t done so previously – that would be a good one for you to blog about. It’s amazing to hear just how complex that whole bond issue is and how it’s all tied in to our housing market crash. The world can thank our Congress (for the past 30 years) for screwing them all. This market crash is not a Dem or Repub problem – this is a D.C. politician problem caused by both sides and all previous presidents starting with Carter and the Fed is complicit. Those freakin’ liberal lending policies and the Fed keeping interest rates unusually low really screwed things up.
The other person I blame – in a big way – is Ben Bernanke. Apparently, he didn’t do his homework in his rookie year before he started raising those interest rates. Because the feds kept those rates artificially low – he should have taken a really good look at our economy and financial instruments before raising those rates. I think he should have come out early on and said – look – we need to raise interest rates – but – I can’t because it will cause a global-wide crash. You guys in the finance industry and you guys in D.C. need to clean things up pronto. You’ve got a year to take care of it!
All of D.C. is screwed up. I don’t have any confidence that Obama can clean it up. In order to clean it up – we have to get rid of all those career politicians that have allowed it to happen – Reid, Pelosi, Dodd, Frank, etc. Once all the bad eggs are gone – from both sides – then the clean up can happen. The conservative voters have already done half the job and have voted out the bad Repubs. Admittedly, there are still a few up there – but – I’m confident come 2010 – we’ll vote those guys out also.

Yeah, Bobo – they are a bunch of idiots running around D.C. Times like this remind me of the zen aphorism that “Perfection is a road, not a destination” – hell, it seems like D.C. politicians just kinda said “nah, we’d rather stay put than take the journey.” I really, really wish that Ron Paul had made it on the Republican ticket. THAT would have been a battle of ideas that truly should motivate the Republic. Unfortunately, Mr. Paul doesn’t have the money to front a campaign (though he did draw lots of attention to himself with how much he DID raise via private, small amount contributions).
As for Fed Chairmen, we kinda have to look at Alan Greenspan too; he always said that the market would “act rationally to protect its profit interests” but when Wall Street started making double digit percentage returns on a quarter’s worth of investments, nobody wanted to look that particular gift horse in the mouth. He later said that his models were off because he “didn’t take into consideration certain important data” like people can be greedy idiots.
Keep up the good work, Bobo

Michael – I guess I wasn’t real clear in reference Bernanke should have done his homework – I was referring to the mess that Greenspan left him with. He should have looked back at everything Greenspan was involved with (or lack thereof) before moving those rates.
And..after listening to that audio – I’m prompted to look in to my own county’s investments. I live in the largest county in Florida – I’m sure we have a lot of money invested somewhere (and probably in some of those so-called safe bond insurance investments). I’ll be looking for financials come next week.

I’d like to raise my hand to get an answer from teacher…
I was told… by a teacher once (I wish to goodness I was paying more attention!), that in the constitution it says that we can get rid of a government we do not like and then get what we DO want.
I’ll play totally dumb here – so, what’s step one in this? I’d like to vote on a new government. How is this done?

Senator Burr of NC wrote a letter to Paulsen complaining that he is using money for purposes other than what Congress intended when they passed the bailout. I called Burr’s offices and asked him to vote NO on the bailout. Monday morning I’m calling back and telling him I told him to vote no and this is what happened and NOW you’re concerned? That Paulsen isn’t doing what Congress intended by buying up the toxic mortgages? This is why I’m voting against you when your Senate seat comes up for reelection, and after Kay Hagen beat Elizabeth Dole, don’t think for one moment your senate seat is safe.
Cheers!

@Monica – I think your teacher oversimplified it a bit. Rather than try to explain it all here – I’ll put up a post later at Inside Government
@Matt – funny thing is – my Dem senator voted against the bailout and my Repub senator voted for it. Both come up for re-election in 2010 – hmm – I wonder which one is going to stay?

Bobo,
Another great article by friend. It is good to see that some still are thinking for themselves. It is funny, everytime I hear Hannity or Limbaugh talk about being the center of the Conservative movement in exile I cringe. It’s those lackeys and others like them who have helped sell the party out. It is guys like you who are saving the party.
Keep up the great work.
Peace
