In Memorial – Moises N. Rivas

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: 9/11, Memorial, Terrorists

Eight years ago today this country was attacked by cowards using our air transportation as weapons to kill nearly 3,000 citizens (American and foreign) in and around the twin towers, the pentagon, and the heroes on United flight 93 who helped bring that plane down before the terrorists could ram it in to the nation’s capital building.

I still remember the way I felt that day.  The fact is, I remember that feeling every day.  I am not one of those who have forgotten.  Too many in this country have forgotten how they felt the day America was attacked.  Too many in this country have forgotten about those who died a senseless unnecessary death that day.  Too many have forgotten the way they felt the day after – on 9/12 – and the way we as Americans, and many of our allies around the world, united to fight a common enemy.

The purpose of this post is to remember one of those who died and to help keep the memory of that day alive for everyone.  Project 2996 was set up to help keep the memory alive of those who died.  I am participating this year and every year from this point forward.  Today I would like you all to get to know Moises N. Rivas and to remember him.

Moises N. Rivas was just 29 years young when American Airlines flight 11 slammed in to the North Tower.  Moises was a staff cafeteria cook working at the Windows of The World restaurant on the top floor of the building.  Moises is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his stepdaughter Linda, his son Moises, Jr., and his daughter Moesha.

Moises immigrated from Ecuador with dreams of one day becoming a rock star or a top chef.  At the time of his death he was attempting to fulfill both of his dreams – one by being a cook in a prestigious restaurant, the other as a member of a local band as a song-writer and lead singer.

Before the building came down that day, Moises was able to get one final call out to his family.  His stepdaughter, Linda answered the phone.  His wife Elizabeth was out doing the laundry.  When his wife heard the news she called home -the following his her account:

“So I called Linda and said, ‘Linda, did Moises call?’ And she said, ‘Yes, Mami, he said not to worry, he is OK.’

“‘He said, ‘Mami, he loves you no matter what happens. He loves you.’ That’s it.”

Moises never had a chance to call again.  Despite the chaos around him he reached out to the ones he loved to give them one last message.  I can’t imagine the pain his family felt that day.  His son is 12 now and his daughter is 10.  My prayers go out to Moises’ family.  R.I.P. Moises N. Rivas.

If you’d like to leave a message – you can go here to do so.

Project 2,996 – Looking for more volunteers

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: 9/11, Memorial, blogs

Hey all – if you haven’t heard of Project 2,996 – check it out here.  The idea is to memorialize those who gave their lives during the 9/11 attack in a blog post.  If you don’t have a blog you can still participate.  I have been assigned to blog about one individual, Moises N. Rivas.  I won’t provide any further details today.  On 9/11 I will post my tribute here and it will also be posted at the Project 2,996.

They are still looking for volunteers.  Please check them out and help out.  This is a call to all bloggers, liberal, conservative, libertarian, independent, and everything else in between.  This is a good cause regardless of your political leaning.

If you’re not a blogger, you can still request an individual to pay tribute to and then submit it to Project 2,996 via e-mail.  They will post it on their blog for you.  They are only at 365 of 2,996.  Please help out and let others know about it as well.

You can also be a fan at Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Project-2996/50909055828?ref=mf.

My post 9/11 post.

Posted by: The BoBo  //  Category: Islamofascists, Terrorists

First – just wanted to say thanks to the many of you who dropped by yesterday looking for new material, commentary, etc…and for posting comments on existing discussions. You obviously noted that I did not post anything yesterday. Well – that is one of two days that is really difficult for me. I purposely chose not to post anything and just took the day to veg and chill out.

This year, 9/11 kind of crept up on me. I wasn’t really prepared for it. I’ve been so busy with everything else that when it arrived – it came about slowly. I woke up yesterday morning like any other day, but, I was in an unusual funk..couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It wasn’t until I was driving in to work and at 8:43am the DJ on the radio announced that this is now the exact time 7 years ago when the first plane struck the WTC – then it all hit me. Now I understood why I was in the mood I was in. Even though I didn’t openly recognize the date, my subconscious knew.

I purposely chose not to post anything yesterday because I knew it would be nothing but an incoherent rant and babble on for pages. Each year when 9/11 comes around, I remember that day vividly and everything that happened on that day for me physically and emotionally. Don’t get me wrong here – I don’t have any personal story of tragedy surrounding that day. For me, growing up in a military family and having served my country myself – that day was an emotionally charged day as we learned that our country was under attack by a sinister enemy. The images of those islamofascist bastards dancing in the streets as our fellow Americans are jumping out of the windows of the burning towers hundreds of stories up has been burned in to my brain.

Yesterday’s post would have just been one hate filled rant after another – and – that is not what I want to put out here on a day like that. That is a day of remembrance. A solemn day. But, it should also be a day that we as Americans SHOULD be able to come together again and remember who the real enemy is and why our soldiers do what they do. Instead, for me, I just get angrier each year. Angrier because that bastard Bin Laden still has not paid for his crime either behind bars or in a pool of blood. I get angrier because we still have not rebuilt the towers – and – it is a testament to the terrorists and each day that pit remains empty is another victorious day for THEM. I get angrier because we are still playing footsies over in Iraq and Afghanistan rather than just send all of our military might in there to take care of those islamofascists once and for all. I get even angrier when I see these 9/11-deniers out there protesting at the empty WTC site – blaming our country and President Bush for the attacks. But, what really pisses me off on that day is that too many people have forgotten. The media refuses to play the video images of that day in fear that it would offend muslims in this country and be a bad reminder. I don’t really give a shit! The reason why so many people have forgotten and so many people continue to insist that it’s an inside job is because we don’t get to see the pictures and footage any more unless we search for them on the Internet.

This is a horrible tragedy and a direct attack on our country and our people. EVERYONE needs to be reminded of this day and remember what it felt like 7 years ago. Those images need to be played over and over again. Perhaps if the people remember how they felt, we might be able to get things accomplished. Perhaps the memorials might actually get built. Perhaps the towers would be replaced if we are motivated to prove to those bastards they didn’t win. Perhaps those deniers wouldn’t be so quick to jump on that idiotic bandwagon if they saw the actual footage rather than some cropped, slowed down, and manipulated images. Perhaps Washington might actually get behind our troops and give them the full support they need and let the generals run the show.

But – we will never know – because that loony left liberal media doesn’t want to offend the muslims. For those of us who actually remember it every day, whether consciously or internally, and continue to seek out the images and video footage to remind yourself and others – Thanks!

Never Forget!

Never Forget!

UPDATE: One of my fellow Tampa Bay blogger buddies (The Tampa Pirate) – posts this up – He has a lot of the footage and stills from that day: Today Isn’t A Day For Politics

After you’ve read and seen that one – here’s why we do it – I bet you completely missed this in the mainstream media outlets. From American Infidel: Iraqi President to President Bush: “We in Iraq are looking to you as a hero of liberation of Iraqis”

and great minds think alike – My good buddy, Greg, over at 454monte.com apparently didn’t blog up anything on Thursday either: Never Forget

The 9/11 Deniers Still Won’t Be Convinced!

It was reported today that The Mystery of 9/11 North Tower Collapse was solved today. But, you know those idiot deniers are just going to say – It was the Fed’s who investigated it! They’re bought off by Bush and Cheney!

Feds Say They’ve Solved 9/11 Mystery

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (Aug. 21) – Federal investigators said Thursday they have solved a mystery of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks: the collapse of World Trade Center building 7, a source of long-running conspiracy theories.
The 47-story trapezoid-shaped building sat north of the World Trade Center towers, across Vesey Street in lower Manhattan. On Sept. 11, it was set on fire by falling debris from the burning towers, but skeptics have long argued that fire and debris alone should not have brought down such a big steel-and-concrete structure.

I don’t know – this sure looked like it was explosives planted by the Bush administration to me!

Any idiots out there that still believe it was an inside job are freakin’ morons! Do you think this report will lay it to rest? Probably not!

Scientists with the National Institute of Standards and Technology say their three-year investigation of the collapse determined the demise of WTC 7 was actually the first time in the world a fire caused the total failure of a skyscraper.

“The reason for the collapse of World Trade Center 7 is no longer a mystery,” said Dr. Shyam Sunder, the lead investigator on the NIST team.
Investigators also concluded that the collapse of the nearby towers broke the city water main, leaving the sprinkler system in the bottom half of the building without water.

Yeah..sure..I don’t care if it was scientists at some national institute – it was paid for by the Bush administration!!!!

Critics like Mike Berger of the group 9/11 Truth said he wasn’t buying the government’s explanation.

“Their explanation simply isn’t sufficient. We’re being lied to,” he said, arguing that there is other evidence suggesting explosives were used on the building.

Yup..that’s what I thought! You’re a freakin’ asshole and a moron Mr. Berger! See that picture up there? I suppose what we all witnessed on the TV live that day was just our imaginations then!

‘Nuff said – you can go read the rest yourselves – here.
