Posts Tagged ‘Blogroll Amnesty Day’
I know, I should have posted this up yesterday – so – sue me! Actually, like I said last Friday – my Internet connection was up temporarily. The construction guys came back early Monday morning – and decided it was time to work on the interior – so – they took down the temporary wall – which means I had to take down the computer and Internet as well. Man, with everything going on this week – it’s killing me not having access in the evening.
Yeah – I’m doing this at work – and – I know I gotta couple co-workers who read this – sorry – I’ll make up the time later!
So – having said that – I don’t have a whole helluva lot of time to be able to post up the lengthy discussion on the so-called stimulus bill. The Senate has really blown that thing up. In any case – just wanted to do my Blogroll Amnesty Day post and to give some recognition to other bloggers. I don’t consider myself a “big” blogger by any means – but – I do want to recognize some of the newer and “smaller” blogs out there that I’ve come across. Some of the new blogs are by established bloggers that have spun off into other blogs…and…others are just cropping up. Some of these are on my blogroll – others will be added shortly when I actually have connectivity and more time. So, without further adieu – go check these guys out. (These are in no particular order of preference.)
Cmblake6′s Weblog – Now here’s some VERY interesting stuff.
Last Refuge of a Scoundrel – Lookie! Linkie!
The Endive – This is similar to The Onion but with a conservative twist.
Heresy Today – A new blog for Guy Vestal. You’ll enjoy this one. He posted up about Blogroll Amnesty Day as well.
Scott’s Tip of The Day - a humor blog. Pretty funny stuff – like this one: Babies
Soapboxblog – The Crack in Cheney’s Crystal Ball
Life and Times of a Turnkey – Gun Control and Crime
Did I Miss Something? – We Shall be Free?
Our World as We See It – I’ve been a fan of Debonair Dude for a while. I think if you pay him a visit you will be too.
Phuck Politics – Ron is a regular contributor to the BoBo Carnival and leaves some comments here and there – when I actually post something up worthwhile! Here’s his latest – Timothy Geithner thinks you’re fucking stupid. BTW – did I mention his place is not for the feint of heart?
TNMilitant – I mentioned in a previous post that this is a new blog from a veteran blogger. Here’s his latest – Book Bomb and Required Reading
The Tampa Pirate – gotta add a plug for the hometown blogger! Here’s his latest – Actions, Not Words Stop Terrorists.
The Right Wing – John is a regular here as well. This one is written by his co-contributor – Closet Conservative: Even libs laugh at Nancy Pelosi.
A Disgrunted Republican – “This simpler, targeted plan gets at the root of the problem, which is housing.”
Amid Clutter – Another established blogger who started up a separate blog. I think you’ll like her new one as well. Priorities
Verbal Thermite | Conservative Politics – Pelosi: Kids are expensive, so let’s get rid of them.
Kayloo – Bradley is/was a regular here for a while. He’s still in high school – so – I have a feeling that’s been keeping him really busy. Anyway – go check him out. His last post is from November – but – I know he checks in every once in a while.
Liberal Journal – Nelson was one of the first to participate in my “Liberal Blogger Fridays” thing I had going on over at blogger when I was a noob. Gotta give props where props are due.
Tapline – His last post is from December – Photo from Ice Storm in New England. But – he is a regular blog cruiser. He’ll post up some interesting things when he comes across them or some great discussions from time to time. He remains an interactive blogger though.
Vulcan’s Hammer – I don’t consider this guy one of the really small bloggers or new bloggers – but – he’s one of my favorites – so – I gotta plug him. Tom Daschle Ad.
Junk-Foodaholic.com – She’s not a new blogger either – but – she has me added to her drop list and I promised I would find a way to reciprocate for her prior props to this blog. I rather like her blog and I’m sure you will too.
So – there you have it for this year. I could have added many more – but – I’m running outta time here. If you want to check out some other great blogs and bloggers – go see my blogroll. I recommend clicking on the one’s you don’t recognize.
And..one last thing. I know it’s not an in depth post regarding the stimulus bill as I had intended – but – if you’re interested in what is in the House Bill and what is in the Senate Bill – you can read them here, here, and here.
Sorry, I know I promised to put it up today – but – I got behind. I spent a lot more time at the NFL Experience today than I anticipated..and..you know how it goes..everything just trickles down from there. I have a draft paper that is due this evening and I have a lot of submissions to read for the blog carnival. I won’t be posting tomorrow (other than the carnival) as I am taking a Steeler Holiday to watch them trounce the Cardinals. So – perhaps I can get it posted up Monday evening. If anything, I may end up combining that analysis with the Senate version.
But, while I have your attention – I wanted to tell you about Blogroll Amnesty Day coming up on February 3, 2008. I learned about it from Jon Swift. From what I gather – it is a day for bloggers to help out other bloggers by adding each other to their blogrolls and to post backlinks in a discussion on that day. The object is also to help get lesser known blogs a little attention. As many of you know, I’m all about helping other bloggers, especially the smaller bloggers. Regardless of our opinions – we’re all one big bloggin’ community. Go check out Jon Swift’s post to learn more about it. I hope you all participate!
