Author So, we keep hearing that if we don’t raise the debt ceiling above $14.3 Trillion – then the country defaults on all of our loans and we won’t be able to pay for any of the spending already authorized by Congress…and we have Geithner out there now saying that if we default – then the GOP is to blame.
What kind of bullshit is that?
1 – While the GOP would shoulder some of the blame – almost all of the blame lies on the shoulders of the Democrats. They held the majority since 2007 and had a supermajority for 2 years. In the last 2 years – Obama has increased our debts and deficit more than any previous president. In just those two years – his spending totals MORE than all presidents in history.
The GOP is only partly to blame because they have followed right along with the tax and spend Democrats since the early 1900′s. No Republican has ever done anything significant to reduce our spending or our debts.
2 – If Congress doesn’t raise the debt ceiling – then the Fed will have to pump in more dollars – this would actually give the U.S. an extra 2 months before we actually do default on any loans.
With these things in mind – what the fuck, man? So, if the debt ceiling isn’t raised that means that the U.S. cannot borrow any more money from other countries in order to pay for spending authorized by Congress. That doesn’t mean we default. That is a red herring. We only default if we don’t actually pay our debts.
As a kid, my father always said – if you’re stupid enough to get yourself in debt – you pay your debts before you pay yourself. Once you pay your debts then you can pay yourself.
This is really simple financial planning.
A.) How much income do you have coming in?
B.) What needs do you have? (Food, shelter, clothing, heat, water, utilities, etc.)
C.) How much do you need to save for emergencies? (Reserves)
D.) Is there anything left over?
If you have any left over then you can use it as discretionary income to have fun with and buy those “wants” or use credit – and budget the remaining left over towards paying on that credit.
Simple – your budget is balanced – Income & Liabilities = 0
So, here is what our politicians are faced with – we have out of this fucking world spending programs and a shitload of stuff we don’t need to be spending on (foreign aide, cradle-to-grave entitlements, redundant government agencies, and agencies that usurp states’ rights). I have a very simple solution to this.
Don’t raise the debt ceiling – in other words – don’t borrow another damned penny from anybody
Make the debt payment
Find areas in the current spending and just cut that department/spending/entitlement – and use that to pay the debt. Whatever is left over – then you pay for those services.
Put in a balanced budget amendment that forces the government to balance to “0″ every year – eliminate the debt altogether
Put a budget in place that SIGNIFICANTLY reduces spending and the size of government.
Put a cap on government spending – equal to the amount of incoming tax revenue each year
So – in other words – how much does the government have coming in from taxes, then budget to the revenue only. No debt, no borrowing, no more deficit spending. In fact – the balanced budget amendment needs to place a ban on deficit spending. Those of us in the real world have to do it – we need to make these idiot politicians accountable and hold their feet to the fire.
Finally – get rid of all the damned liberals. They have destroyed this country – that includes RINOs. It is time we get back to the values that made this country great – values that says every person in this country has the ability to succeed on their own merits. If a person succeeds – they should not be punished by the government for their success, nor should they be vilified for being successful. Government needs to be reigned in and held to the constitutional limits placed on them. This government was created with a notion they would stay out of the way of business and individual liberties – and create rules and regulations that would allow individuals to be creative and pursue their own path to happiness.
I am not anti-government. I am only asking for the government that our founders gave us – a representative republic with a very limited federal government.

There is a reason that I am no longer a registered Republican and have begun working with The American Conservative Party to develop a viable third-party option to those pinheads in Washington – one of those being they consistently vote against our military veterans every step of the way. Imagine my surprise when I read this from our buddy Marc Chamot over at The Examiner.com:
House Cuts 10,000 “2011″ HUD Housing Vouchers for Homeless Veterans
Really, people? We’re facing a $3.6 Trillion spending budget with a deficit of $1.6 Trillion – you submit a budget with only $61 Billion in cuts, the OMB publishes a report stating there is over $100 Billion in overlapping departments and programs – and you decide our military Veterans need to get the shaft? I was truly hoping that the new TEA Party candidates would have a bigger impact – apparently, not.
I guarantee you I can find at least $1.6 Trillion to cut out of our government based on the 2010 Budget:
The Department of Education – $46.7 Billion
The Department of Energy – $26.3 Billion
The EPA – $10.5 Billion
Medicare – $453 Billion
Medicaid – $295 Billion
Social Security – $695 Billion
Social Security Administration – $9.7 Billion
National Infrastructure Bank – $5 Billion
Corporation for National and Community Service – $1.1 Billion
Total of All the Above – $1.54 Trillion – okay – I was a little close. My figures are based on if you cut those programs and departments out completely. If you click that link above to see the total 2010 budget – you will see the percentage increases of 2009. I would cut back all of those increases to the 2006 levels of spending. In addition, you will notice what is absent as itemized in the budget – all the Congressional perks such as a subsidized cafeteria, gas, car, insurance, housing allowance, lifetime benefits consisting of a pension and health care. Also absent the itemization are the IRS and Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. I would cut out ALL the perks these politicians enjoy, do away with the IRS entirely, and sell of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. I guarantee you I will would produce a surplus.
Those idiots in Congress need to do the right thing and just start slashing everywhere. This country is in serious financial disaster right now. Our dollar is tanking, the stock market is headed downward again, gas prices are going through the roof, food prices are about to spike, and true unemployment is about to hit 20%.
They need to lay off our Veterans.

While the House is headed for a vote on repeal of Obamacare soon – there seems to be some talk of compromise – despite the fact they ran in 2010 stating they were going to repeal Obamacare.

Alright! We booted out the Dems and have sent what I believe is a VERY clear message to those socialist libs and this marxist President – STOP! But, I would agree with Marco Rubio here – this does not mean that we embrace the Republicans now. What this means is that we spent the last 4 years cleaning out many of the RINO’s and have put in some true fiscal conservatives. We also send them up there with the message – WE HAVE OUR EYES ON YOU AND YOU BETTER LISTEN TO US THIS TIME!
I spent all night watching the returns and listening to the pundits explain the results. Something I haven’t heard anyone say yet is that the GOP is now in a win-win situation – provided they don’t screw this up. We put the GOP back in control to reign in government spending, reduce the size of government, reduce taxes, and place regulations (or de-regulations) that will get this economy growing and spur job growth. Those liberal Keynesian policies have proven NOT to work. It is absolutely a GREAT thing that the Republicans did not take the Senate this time around. The Republicans still don’t have full ownership of the outcome of the policies they implement. Two-thirds of this administration is still controlled by the Democrats. The good news is that the Republicans are at the most important point of the process – the bill creation point.
What the GOP needs to do is force the hands of the Dems in the Senate and also the Obumbler. The Republicans can’t lose if they control the message and continuously communicate with the American people. They need to put up some very clean, clear, and concise bills then come to the public with them first. They need to pass a bill that balances the budget and then come to the American people and say – “Look. We passed this bill in the house. It balances the budget in Washington without additional growth to the government or additional taxes on the people. If the Senate doesn’t pass it and if the President doesn’t sign it…here are the consequences….” They need to do that with every single bill that is passed before they send it to the Senate.
The Senate has 41 seats up for re-election in 2012. The Democrats in the Senate will have a choice to make – either side with the GOP on these bills – or risk losing big time in 2012. Most likely, they will concede. After all, they are politicians and the only thing that politicians care about is keeping their jobs and their power. Any Democrat that doesn’t go along with the House bills – the Republicans will come out in 2012 and say…”We provided the American with a VERY clear plan. We heard you loud and clear in 2010. We passed the bills that YOU the American people asked for. You sent the message that you wanted this administration to stop and reverse course. These Democrats apparently did not get that message. The only way we can fulfill the wishes of our electorate is for you to give us the power in the Senate now. We need your votes to remove these Democrats that stood in YOUR way.”
If the libs in the Senate do follow along with the GOP plans – then Obumbler has a choice…either sign the bills and do what is actually right for America and we the people – or stick to his marxist ideology and veto the bills on his principle only. If Obumbler vetoes any bills passed by both the House and the Senate – then he will be committing political suicide. This also means that the GOP can put up an candidate and that candidate will win. It will be up to we the people to make sure the GOP puts up the right candidate. Personally, I hope that Obambi sticks to his guns. The Republicans can then come out in 2012 and say – “Look, we got bipartisan support on these bills and they were passed in both the House and the Senate. Congress heard your message in 2010 and we listened. We are still listening to YOU. This President is still trying to govern against the will of the people. Please help us to help YOU by voting him out.”
Like I said – this is a win-win situation for the GOP – as long as they don’t screw it up.

Yes, I actually came across an article in The New York Times that I agree with **harungh** (h/t to Mark Couturier)
Xenophobia – Fear Mongering For American Votes
Even the title got it right. We have a lot of lame-brained idiot GOP Senators in Congress right now mulling over whether or not we need to change the language of the 14th Amendment regarding “anchor babies.”
These idiots being:
Senators Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Jeff Sessions and Jon Kyl.
Yes – they’re idiots. This one is the biggest of all by stating the following:
“I’m not sure exactly what the drafters of the amendment had in mind,” said Mr. Sessions, the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee, “but I doubt it was that somebody could fly in from Brazil and have a child and fly back home with that child, and that child is forever an American citizen.”
Hey, lame-brain – if you don’t know what they had in mind – leave it the fuck alone. Here is the main problem – while there may not be plane-loads of pregnant Brazilians on their way to have babies – we do in fact have millions of pregnant Mexican women coming here simply to have babies so they can be American citizens. Sure, this was not the intent of the 14th Amendment when written.
The language that is posing this problem for the idiots is this:
Section. 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Mr. Sessions – and you other idiots – here is the history and intent of this section of the Constitution since you don’t seem to understand it – Our founders were white rich folk who owned slaves. Many who wrote the Constitution and this amendment were abolitionists in support of freeing those slaves. One way to ensure slaves could be set free were to make them actual citizens of the United States. This essentially said that all negroes born in the U.S. became citizens with all the rights afforded any other white citizen in this country. The history and intent are pretty clear.
Has this been abused in the modern era? Absolutely. Do we need to change the language? Hell No. I am probably going against the grain of my fellow conservative brethren – but – bear with me. I have stated several times that I am a strict constitutionalist and believe the constitution as written is solid. The amendments that were successfully ratified and added were all well thought out and written. When there was a mistake (the 18th Amendment) it was successfully nullified and repealed through the 21st Amendment. The 14th Amendment was adopted in 1868 – 142 years ago. It has withstood time and many challenges but has yet to be repealed.
The GOP is trying to ratchet things up now by playing on fears as suggested in this article. While the vast majority of this country hate the idea of amnesty to 10′s of millions of ILLEGAL ALIENS – changing the 14th Amendment solves nothing. I get the idea that in order to be a citizen by birth it would make sense that you should be here legally when you give birth. But, that is not what the 14th Amendment states. The 14th Amendment gives hope to all non-American citizens (legal or illegal) that their children would have a better life than where they came from.
These idiot GOP’ers are just playing on the country’s collective anger against what is happening in Arizona. We all know the Federal Government has now become the enemy of the states by joining the ACLU and filing a lawsuit against S.B. 1070 (if you haven’t read the 17 page bill – that is a link to a PDF). These idiot senators are hoping to stir enough anger and fear about anchor babies and illegal aliens that you will want to vote for them in the next election cycle. Don’t let them fool you. As we all know, McCain and Graham tried to get an amnesty bill passed a couple years ago. They no more truly support enforcing immigration law than Felipe Calderon wants to help keep them from crossing our borders in to the U.S. Sessions is just an idiot – and – Kyl has been the senator from Arizona for many years and has done absolutely NOTHING to support Arizona’s efforts to secure those borders until now. McConnell is an idiot just following along because he is the Minority leader. They think by grand standing like this you might actually believe they are serious about illegal immigration. WRONG! What they are proposing is not a solution. It is simple fear mongering in hopes there are enough sheeple out there that will follow them down that path.
To solve this problem of an abuse of the 14th Amendment and anchor babies – all that needs to happen is that we actually enforce the current laws already on the books. If we built the border fence and actually controlled and documented who is crossing our borders – that would cut down on the anchor baby situation. If we actually fined those modern day corporate slavers who hire illegals – that would deny them the ability to make a living here. If we actually fined those landlords who house illegals – that would deny them the ability to seek shelter. If we denied them free social and public services – that would deny them access to health care, public housing, food stamps, etc.
If we actually enforce the laws on the books and detained and immediately deported them knowing if they come back they will serve actual jail time in a federal prison – they would not come back. We already have the means to stop the anchor baby situation – just follow the law. There is no need to change the 14th Amendment. It is written perfectly as is.
