Hi All – I figured with the 2010 mid-term elections upon us and the races getting tighter – it would be a good idea to remind everyone of how your Representatives and Senators voted on the Five Major Key Issues that have helped lead this country down the road to socialism: TARP, The Stimulus Bill, Obamacare, Crap and Trade, and Financial Reform.

First – the Big One – Obamacare

Here is the Roll Call Vote on Obamacare

Next – Crap and Trade

Here is the Roll Call Vote on Cap and Trade

Next – Financial Reform

Here is the Roll Call Vote on Financial Reform Senate

Here is the Roll Call Vote on Financial Reform House

Next up – The Stimulus Bill

Here is the Roll Call Vote on ARRA Senate

Here is the Roll Call Vote on ARRA House

Finally – TARP

Here is the Roll Call Vote on TARP Senate

Here is the Roll Call Vote on TARP House

Hopefully, this is a great resource for you all as you head to the voting booths in a couple weeks (or within days for those of you doing early voting) – please – we MUST hold ALL of these politicians’ feet to the fire on these bills.  We were already heading down the wrong path before Obamadeenajad – these bills solidified it.  Please pass this post on to others so that they too can see how their Representatives and Senators voted on these economically devastating bills.

And – I need to plug one particular politician – Sean Bielat.  He is opposing Barney Franks up in Mass.  He is closing in on Barney and has Barney running scared – so much so that Barney Franks had to donate $200,000 of his own money to his own campaign.  Sean needs some help – please donate here and let’s all help him to retire Barney.  He’s been there 30 years already.  He’s done enough damage to this country. I did my part and donated – now it’s your turn to help RETIRE BARNEY.

A big h/t to Chris at Cmblake6′s Weblog for the inspiration.  You can see his post here.

I’m sure you all have seen part of this in an e-mail.  I know I have received this e-mail hundreds of times.  Check out Cmblake6′s site and you will recognize it.  However, after reading it there – I decided to do a little more research on this e-mail.  As it turns out – that is just a small fraction of the entire article written by Charley Reese (former Orlando Sentinel reporter).  I found the complete article and it is well worth the read so I have posted it here in its entirety.  While the publication date continues to be listed as unknown – considering he left the Orlando Sentinel in 2001 – it was most likely written before then. These words hold so true probably more so today than ever. Heed this man’s words

THE 545 PEOPLE
RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL
OF AMERICA’S WOES

BY CHARLEY REESE

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices – 545 human beings out of the 235 million – are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank.

I excluded all but the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it.

No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislation’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

A CONFIDENCE CONSPIRACY

Don’t you see how the con game that is played on the people by the politicians? Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of Tip O’Neill, who stood up and criticized Ronald Reagan for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating appropriations and taxes.

O’neill is the speaker of the House. He is the leader of the majority party. He and his fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetos it, they can pass it over his veto.

REPLACE SCOUNDRELS

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 235 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts – of incompetence and irresponsibility.

I can’t think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in Lebanon, it’s because they want them in Lebanon.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take it.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone are responsible. They and they alone have the power. They and they alone should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses – provided they have the gumption to manage their own employees.

This article was taken from the Orlando Sentinel Star newspaper

About Charlie Reese:

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years, reporting on everything from sports to politics. From 1969-71, he worked as a campaign staffer for gubernatorial, senatorial and congressional races in several states. He was an editor, assistant to the publisher, and columnist for the Orlando Sentinel from 1971 to 2001. He now writes a syndicated column three times a week for King Features. Reese served two years active duty in the U.S. Army as a tank gunner.

Some of you may or may not be aware that one of the items in this so-called stimulus package is the provision of appointing an individual to oversee our healthcare system and to assist physicians in making medical decisions and keeping costs down.  You can see that here and here (this is actually a new department) and here. Michelle Malkin has more detail on the socialized medicine provision as well.  This is the particular section of the last one I gave you that everyone needs to understand:

‘‘(4) provides appropriate information to help guide medical decisions at the time and place of care; ‘‘(5) ensures the inclusion of meaningful public input in such development of such infrastructure;

This is in reference to the duties of the newly created position of National Coordinator of Health Information Technology.  Do we really want the government controlling our physicians and their medical decision making processes?

The following is a very tragic story – it comes to us from England and this is exactly what could happen to us if we allow nationalized medicine here in this country:

Girl Starves After All Her Teeth Are Pulled

(Feb. 9) – An 8-year-old British girl who was terrified of dentists starved to death because she refused to eat after all her baby teeth were extracted, an inquest was told Monday.
British media reported Sophie Waller died Dec. 2 in her home in St. Dennis, Cornwall, in southwestern England. A pathologist told the inquest in Truro, Cornwall, that the girl died of acute kidney failure caused by dehydration and starvation, the BBC News said.

Sophie developed a fear of dentists as a 4-year-old when a dentist accidentally cut her tongue during a check-up, the inquest was told, according to the Daily Mail.
Four years later, she cracked a tooth on a candy but refused to go to the dentist. After she would not eat for three days, she was admitted to a hospital, where doctors removed all of her baby teeth.
Sophie’s parents, Janet and Richard Waller, insisted they only gave consent for one tooth to be pulled, not eight.

“She didn’t like dentists already so she was very freaked out. She had blood running all down her face. The poor girl was devastated,” Janet Waller said.

Sophie was discharged from the hospital in Nov. 17 but thereafter refused to eat solid food, the Times of London said. Her parents said they could get her to swallow only small amounts of yogurt and mashed fruit.
The Wallers said they called the hospital on Nov. 28 but was told Sophie could not be readmitted. Instead they were told to contact a community child psychologist who had been assigned to the case, and the psychologist told them not to worry. Sophie’s parents said they talked to their regular family doctor once over the phone, but no medical practitioner ever saw the child.

“No one saw her after she was discharged from hospital. I told [the child psychologist] she was sucking on a watermelon, she told me that was enough for her to survive on,” Janet Waller said. ‘I asked her to come round and see her but she kept saying there is nothing to worry about and I’ll come next week.”

“This could have easily been avoided, if we could have just gone to the hospital,” Sophie’s father said.

I emphasized that last line there.  This is not the fault of the parents this time.  This is the fault of a government controlled healthcare system based on rationing of care.  If we let this stimulus bill pass we are setting up the first steps to Universal Healthcare based on rationing of care – and cases such as Sophie’s will start showing up in U.S. news as well!
Besides – what the hell does creating a national healthcare oversight department have anything to do with stimulating the economy?
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – Obama is a freakin’ idiot and a buffoon.  That Harvard education that he got was definitely bought off because he sure did not learn a damned thing.  He’s inexperienced and doesn’t have a clue about economics or taxes and the people he’s been putting on his cabinet don’t know shit either otherwise they wouldn’t be trying to ram this piece of shit down our throats.  They’ve completely ignored the advice of the Congressional Budget Office and from well respected economists around this country.
Sure – they’ve closed debate on the issue – but – we can still urge our Senators to vote NO on this crapulous bill.  I found a great graphic that everyone needs to see if you still haven’t gotten the picture yet (click on the graphic if you want to see a larger picture and the discussion from the Washington Post):
UPDATE: I guess the debate AND the vote is over.  Those idiots with the help of three RINO’s passed this idiotic bill.

Welcome to yet another great edition of The BoBo Carnival of Politics – and Happy December.  There are only 18 days left before Christmas – if any of you are actually keeping track.  As with weeks prior – another great grouping of article submissions yet again!  We have 18 great posts to read this week – so – grab another soda or coffee or whatever your quaffage of choice is while you blog cruise and check each of these out.

Conservative

Steve Simbeck presents I just ran over a pig-footed bandicoot with my Edsel so where is my bailout? posted at No Mato mi Pavo.

That’s some pretty funny stuff over there. I’ll have to admit it took me a moment to realize where you were going with it – but – I like the analogies.  pig-footed bandicoots and ambersnails – good one!

Steve Parry presents Change We Can Believe In; Judging A Book By Its Cover posted at The Axis, saying, “It’s mostly humor, but pretty much on the money.”

Steve – thanks for the submission, buddy!  I didn’t recognize a single one of those names myself! ;)

Jon Swift presents Conservatives Need a Bailout posted at Jon Swift, saying, “No one has been hit harder by this financial turmoil than conservatives. Although conservatives generally support self-reliance when it comes to others, the situation is so dire that the only thing that will save our conservative institutions at this point is a quick infusion of government aid.”

If none of you have ever been to Jon’s place before – this guy is a must read!  I don’t know about you other conservative bloggers – but – with the economy the way it is and with the fear in the market over an Obama administration – I’ve been hit pretty hard.  I’m now to the point where I’m taking money from my kids’ piggy banks just to pay for the hosting service (oh..wait..I don’t pay for it) – nevermind.  In any case – Mr. Swift’s post is a satirical look at conservatives in the economic downturn.

Democrats

Lisa Spinelli presents Warren Buffett’s Secretary Pays More in Tax Than Warren Buffett | Greener Pastures: Personal Finance posted at Greener Pastures: Personal Finance.

Welcome back, Lisa.  Just one question – who is doing his secretary’s taxes?  If she paid 30% on $60k either she has absolutely no deductions to itemize (which is very unusual) or her tax preparer is an idiot. Also, if he’s paying HIS personal secretary only $60k a year – he’s a cheapskate.  Executive secretaries today make in the $80K – $100K+  range nowadays.

Liberal

SpkTruth2Pwr presents Silence is NOT Golden. posted at The Apathy Remedy, saying, “When NOT speaking up goes wrong? A look at ethical behavior and personal responsibility in leadership, decision-making, organizational structure. Whistleblowers stand up!”

Nice to see ya again!  This is a great post.  In my past life – I used to be a litigation consultant regarding Qui Tam and False Claim lawsuits in healthcare organizations.  You are absolutely right – you should never stand idly by if you know there is wrong doing.  Part of the economic problem we are facing today is because TOO MANY people sat idly by just watching these things take shape knowing it was wrong.  There is a federal whistleblower law on the books that states employers are not allowed to retaliate against any employees who file a whistleblower complaint.  I’ll echo it here as well – stand up and be heard if you know something is wrong.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Irony Has At Least Seven More Lives posted at Mad Kane’s Political Madness.

Ahh..but with satirists such as yourself – I’m sure it will be resurrected – most certainly with an Obama presidency!

Miscellaneous

BH presents Is Mumbai really anything new? posted at Bangladeshi Hindu, saying, “A detailed analysis of Islamic terrorism in India by Dr. Richard Benkin.”

BH – thank you so much for submitting this post.  What happened in Mumbai is indeed a tragedy and I believe Dr. Benkin nailed it on the head there.  This was totally preventable – and – unfortunately as with the Indian leaders – I think many of our American leaders aren’t paying attention either or taking the threats seriously.  This is a must read article.

Sarah Scrafford presents Top 50 Constitutional Law Blogs posted at Masters in Criminal Justice.

Thank you Sarah for another great resource.  I’m adding this to my favorites as I did the other list.

John Kaduk presents A Russian-Iranian Alliance? Part I: Russia posted at The Right Wing.

Excellent analysis John.  Looking forward to parts II and III.  I’ve suspected such links and alliances with Iran going back to 2003 when Russia first sided against us when we wanted to move in to Iraq.  I believed then that Russia was playing both sides between Iraq and Iran.  Likewise, with Russia building the “nuclear power plants” for Iran – I’m sure there is much more going on there than just energy swapping!

News

Archvillain presents Unintended Consequences posted at A Dark and Sinister Force for Good, saying, “Evil has deep roots, and the innocent suffer for the sins of those long past.”

Very creative, Archvillain!  It’s plausible – that damned Henry VIII  – I don’t know what to say!

Bradley Hankins presents Let’s Not Fail Our Students, Let’s Help Them posted at Kayloo.

Hey Bradley – thanks for the submission.  While I like the title – for whatever reason – at the time I went to read the article before publishing – all of your pages are gone!  Hopefully, you’ll have them up soon for the rest of the readers to enjoy.

Politics

Woodward Friend presents this is why we can’t have nice things #1: citigroup posted at detroitist.

Hey Woodward Friend – thanks for this post.  Corporate American may not like it – but – the majority of Americans are all for true free-market capitalism.  I say screw CitiGroup and all those other companies looking for a handout from we the people.  I still don’t understand if we the people have told our representatives NO BAILOUT – then why the hell are they still handing out our money to those bastards.  Let capitalism work the way it’s supposed to – no government interference either in good or bad times.  If they fail – they fail – screw them.

SpkTruth2Pwr presents Pre-Reqs for Taking the State Sec’y Job posted at The Apathy Remedy, saying, “Does Hillary stack up on the job requirements that really counts in order to be a great Secretary of State? Or is this one job she will NOT be good at?”

Well – I don’t share your same optimism.  I wouldn’t have given her a check in any of the categories you used.  Oh well, but then again – I’m one of those evil conservatives!  I just don’t trust either of the Clintons.

Jeremy R. Shown presents This Time Will Be Different. No Really, I Mean It. posted at Rhymes With Clown, saying, “Do we really want to double down on government intervention and regulation?”

“Rhymes With Clown” – a man after this clown’s heart!! I like the way you think Jeremy.  I’m still trying to figure out how those Dems and anti-capitalist can sincerely state that our corporations (any corporation) in this country is unregulated.  I too believe we are seeing the problems we are due largely because of too much government regulation and intervention.

Mike Cavin presents George “Quacking” Bush – Lame Duck?, posted at Inside Government.

A most excellent analysis and explanation of just what a “lame duck” is as it relates to our government.  I must agree with your opinion about GWB as well.  He essentially has already turned over the office to Obama.

Alli presents How to Save the Republic – Part 3 – Repeal the Direct Election of Senators posted at The Smoking Argus, saying, “We must understand that the Central Bankers who sought to regain control over our money supply and monetary policy at the beginning of the 20th century did indeed learn a precious lesson from the demise of the 2nd Central Bank of the United States…”

This is a very long post – but well worth the read.  If anyone is interested in how the Federal Reserve came to pass and how our Senators are complicit with removing the banking powers from our government – this is a very detailed historical account.  Only one thing though – I was under the impression that Senators were still subject to recall by state Governors if the people of the state so choose.  But, I’m in agreement – we need to do away with career politicians.

republicans

Wenchypoo presents The Truth About the Economy and Job Creation (L-O-N-G) posted at Wisdom From Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket.

Hey Wenchypoo – nice to see you again – it’s been a while! You weren’t kidding when you said this was a long post.  But, I thoroughly enjoyed it.  You were right on target with all of your points with regards to our economy being a bunch of individuals conducting transactions.  I too fear what will happen to this economy when Obama gets in and starts adding barriers to business.  If they try to start this “green” business bullshit – we’re REALLY in trouble.  Global warming is a hoax and all the reports coming out have said the earth has actually been cooling the last 7 years and they expect 2009 to be even cooler.  With these types of reports coming out – no investor or venture capitalist would be willing to sink their money in a losing business.  While the rest of the world is coming around and realizing “green” is not the way to go – our government is going to screw us with all these “green” mandates.  Excellent post – your last paragraph is an excellent conclusion.

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of The BoBo Carnival of Politics using our carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.

H/T to Greg over at 454monte.com for the heads-up on this!

From an editorial by Ted Nugent over at Human Events: Make sure you pass this on to others – we need to get the word out.  While our Republican Representatives are making a stand up on the hill – there are five sell-outs joining with five Dems to thwart their efforts.  These five are:

Graham, Thune, Chambliss, Corker, and Isakson – All of them RINO assholes!  They’re offering up an energy policy that fits right in to Obama’s gameplan!  These are the same Eleven Ten that used to include McCain.

According to Kimberly Strassel’s August 8th article in The Wall Street Journal, the Gang of Ten’s energy policy is to allow four states to determine whether or not to allow drilling for oil on offshore federal land and deny drilling within 50 miles of our coasts and any drilling in ANWR. Oil companies would be allowed to explore for oil off Florida’s coasts. You know, like those stalwarts of environmentalism China, Cuba and India are planning to do in the next couple of years.

Additionally, the Gang of Ten would provide over $80 billion in tax credits for alternative fuels by eliminating $30 billion in tax breaks for oil companies, which of course ultimately comes out of American consumer’s pockets. That’s right: raise taxes on the very companies that would invest in finding more real energy to help make America energy independent, while propping up more Fedzilla hoaxes like ethanol. The Emperor not only has no clothes, he’s fat, wart-riddled and ugly

You gotta love the way Mr. Wango Tango writes!  But take careful notice of the areas I highlighted up there…proof positive these RINO’s are deep in the pockets of the Dems.  Why don’t they just freakin change parties already?  I don’t know what pisses me off more – the fact that these guys are trying to undermine the effort to increase oil supplies or the fact they want to increase taxes on us!

The first rule of Republican economic politics must always be to never cut deals with the Tax Devil. The second economic maxim is that America can not tax and spend its way to prosperity. These two fundamental rules should be burned into the doors of all Republican senators and congressmen’s offices. Even tattooed onto their foreheads.

Unable to drill within 50 miles of our coasts, we will not be able to tap into the rich energy reserves that lay just off of our coasts.

The Gang of Ten’s proposal would restrict us from this energy — energy that would help make America more energy independent. Thanks for nothing, Gang of Sellouts.

So – not only do they want to let 4 out of the 50 states make this decision, but, they want to completely cut us off from 86 billion barrels of oil and 420 TRILLION cubic feet of natural gas!

Go read the rest of that yourself….I don’t dare take away from The Nugent’s artful ways of the written word!

Also – on the same lines – we have this:  A letter to Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) from one of his Tennessee Constituents.  I won’t paste the entire thing over here – just a couple of the main points.  This is a must read as well:

Senator, here are the facts:

1. The Democrats do not want us to drill for our own oil.

2. Increasing the supply of oil is crucial to bringing down the price.

3. Taxing the oil companies will not produce a single drop of oil.

4. Inflating our tires will not produce a drop of oil.

5. The 2000 acres of drilling land (out of 19 million) in ANWR is a frozen waste where the sun doesn’t shine for 56 days out of the year.

6. The prosperity of this country is due in part to our use of fossil fuels. Our continued prosperity will require fossil fuels. There is no replacement for oil in the foreseeable future.

7. Man made global warming is a hoax perpetuated by Al Gore and his left wing nuts. Conservatives need to stand tall and say, “Not one more dime shall be spent on this nonsense!”

I would say this Doctor nailed that on the head!  This is just snippet of the whole thing.  This guy knows how to write.

I really don’t know what the hell these Senators are thinking.  Everything they are proposing will just continue our independence on foreign oil while increasing our taxes and making the government even larger – while leaving the decision of millions up to 4 state Governors.  Who the hell do these people think they are?  The latest Rasmussen poll clearly indicates that 64% of Americans WANT to drill and 55% want to build more Nukes.  Everything these RINO dickheads want to do is completely the opposite of the MAJORITY of Americans.

Apparently, our voices are mute up in D.C. – I say – now is the time to raise our voices and make damned sure we’re heard!

First - See my previous post Operation Drill Bit – let’s send as many freakin’ drill bits as we can to Nancy Pelosi.

Second - Contact your Representatives and Senators and let them know how you feel.  You can find your representatives here:  Senators and Congressman

and Third - Let’s reset this whole damned thing!  Vote out all the freakin incumbents in November!  I’ve started a new blogroll – No More Incumbents – send me an e-mail at  nomoreincumbents at gmail dot com and I will send you the code to put on your blog.  Once you’ve placed the code on your blog – send me a follow-up e-mail with the URL where the blogroll is located and I will add your blog to it.  Here’s what it looks like:
